Jehoshua is on the throne of David in New Jerusalem and He is the King of a New Israel
The angel of Jehovah's presence also known as Jehovah's holy Spirit part 1 of my study
Isaiah 63:9-11 (ASV) 9In all their affliction he was afflicted, and the angel of his presence saved them: in his love and in his pity he redeemed them; and he bare them, and carried them all the days of old.10But they rebelled, and grieved his holy Spirit: therefore he was turned to be their enemy, and himself fought against them.11Then he remembered the days of old, Moses and his people, saying, Where is he that brought them up out of the sea with the shepherds of his flock? where is he that put his holy Spirit in the midst of them? The angel of Jehovah's presence saved the Israelites in the exodus. The angel was the means by which Jehovah God worked on behalf of His people to have them exit Egypt safely. Remember king David equated Jehovah's presence with His Spirit: Psalm 51:11 (ASV) "Cast me not away from thy presence; And take not thy holy Spirit from me." I submit to you that Jehovah doesn't send His presence/Spirit to His people without an agent bringing it. In the old testament, we see that this is the angel of Jehovah. We have traditionally been taught that the Holy Spirit proceeds out of the substance of God yet the old testament conveys a different way in which the Spirit is sent from Jehovah. He sends His Spirit in the form of an angel who are identified as spirit beings (Hebrews 1). Verse 10 says they (Israel) vexed Jehovah's holy Spirit by rebelling. This comes right after the angel of Jehovah's presence being mentioned in verse 9 as the instrument of salvation. Exodus 23:20-23 (ASV) 20 Behold, I send an angel before thee, to keep thee by the way, and to bring thee into the place which I have prepared.21 Take ye heed before him, and hearken unto his voice; provoke him not; for he will not pardon your transgression: for my name is in him.22 But if thou shalt indeed hearken unto his voice, and do all that I speak; then I will be an enemy unto thine enemies, and an adversary unto thine adversaries.23 For mine angel shall go before thee, and bring thee in unto the Amorite, and the Hittite, and the Perizzite, and the Canaanite, the Hivite, and the Jebusite: and I will cut them off. Angels are referred to as holy ones and spirits hence they are holy spirits. Here in Exodus 23 we have a connection to what Isaiah is talking about re: Israel rebelling and vexing Jehovah's holy Spirit. The Israelites were commanded to obey the voice of the angel of Jehovah as He had Jehovah's name (authority) in him. The angel had the authority (name) of Jehovah God to not pardon their transgressions. Back to Isaiah 63, we know that Israel rebelled against Jehovah in the wilderness thereby vexing the angel that was in command of leading Israel. This angel is holy (a holy one, set apart) and is a spirit (not human). By rebelling against Jehovah, Israel vexed His holy Spirit who is the angel of Jehovah's presence (spirit). The close proximity of the angel of Jehovah's presence (verse 9) and Jehovah's holy Spirit (verses 10 and 11) give strong evidence that they are one and the same. Verse 11 of Isaiah 63, i find it interesting that the KJV says "where is he that put his holy spirit within him?" I believe the ASV renders better in saying "where is he that put his holy spirit in the midst of them?" The KJV rendering supports the holy Spirit being some type of invisible substance i.e. trinity, whereas the ASV rendering supports the holy Spirit being the angel of Jehovah as it was the angel of Jehovah who was put in the midst of Israel. The holy Spirit being put in the midst of Israel goes perfectly with verse 9 of Isaiah 63 where it says the angel of Jehovah's presence saved them. It was the angel of Jehovah that led Israel out of the sea. The angel of Jehovah was with Israel as a nation from the exodus onward as Exodus 23 states and it is the angel being given to Israel as a guide that it can be said Jehovah put His holy Spirit in the midst of them. In verse 10 we learn that rebellious Israel vexed Jehovah's holy Spirit which in verse 9 is referred to as the angel of Jehovah's presence. "Vexed" grieved or hurt feelings. Acts 7:51 (ASV) 51 Ye stiffnecked and uncircumcised in heart and ears, ye do always resist the Holy Spirit: as your fathers did, so do ye. Stephen here identifies the holy Spirit as the one the Israelites of old resisted or rebelled against. As we see in Isaiah 63:9-11, the angel of Jehovah is equated with the holy Spirit. The Israelites vexed or grieved Jehovah's holy Spirit which He put in the midst of them. Exodus 23 identifies the angel of Jehovah as the one who was put in the midst of Israel hence the angel and the holy Spirit are one and the same. Lets now go to verses 12-14 of Isaiah 63: End of verse 11: "where is he that put his holy Spirit in the midst of them?" 12 that caused his glorious arm to go at the right hand of Moses? that divided the waters before them, to make himself an everlasting name? 13 that led them through the depths, as a horse in the wilderness, so that they stumbled not? 14 As the cattle that go down into the valley, the Spirit of Jehovah caused them to rest; so didst thou lead thy people, to make thyself a glorious name. The Holy Spirit which Jehovah put in the midst of Israel, which verse 9 and Exodus 23 identify as the angel of Jehovah, is called here in verse 12 of Isaiah 63 "the glorious arm" that was at the right hand of Moses dividing the waters of the red sea. Verse 14 says it was the Spirit of Jehovah that caused Moses and Israel to rest, once again making the connection between the holy Spirit of Jehovah and the angel of Jehovah as it was the angel of Jehovah's presence (verse 9) that saved Israel in their exodus experience thereby giving them rest from their enemies. Exodus 14:19 (ASV) 19 And the angel of God, who went before the camp of Israel, removed and went behind them; and the pillar of cloud removed from before them, and stood behind them: In context this is speaking about Israel's red sea experience. Just as verse 9 of Isaiah 63 says it was the angel of Jehovah's presence that saved Israel and verse 14 of Isaiah 63 says it was the Spirit of Jehovah that gave them rest, here in Exodus it is the angel of God (Jehovah) which went before Israel and also behind them during their exodus out of Egypt. This proves that the holy Spirit that Jehovah put in the midst of Israel to lead them by the right hand of Moses in the red sea was indeed the angel of God (Jehovah) described in Exodus 19:14. Hebrews 1:13-14 (ASV) 13 But of which of the angels hath he said at any time, Sit thou on my right hand, Till I make thine enemies the footstool of thy feet? 14 Are they not all ministering spirits, sent forth to do service for the sake of them that shall inherit salvation? Hebrews 1:7 7 And of the angels he saith, Who maketh his angels winds (spirits), And his ministers a flame a fire: It should not be too surprising that the holy Spirit is an angel for the text above says that angels are made to be spirits by Jehovah God. They also appear as a flame of fire. Angels are also called "holy ones" Jude 14: "And Enoch also, the seventh from Adam, prophesied of these, saying, Behold, the Lord cometh with ten thousands of his saints" The word "saints" is rendered from the Greek word "hagios" (Strongs 40) and means "consecrates, saint, holy one". Acts 1:1-2 1 The former treatise have I made, O Theophilus, of all that Jesus began both to do and teach,2 Until the day in which he was taken up, after that he through the Holy Ghost had given commandments unto the apostles whom he had chosen: The Holy Spirit would be the vehicle in which Jehoshua would send the apostolic congregation commandments. This indeed is still the method in which Jehoshua sends His remnant congregation commandments. As the passage above states there wasn't a need for Jehoshua to use the Holy Spirit to communicate His instructions while He was physically present with the apostles. The question we have to ask is, did Jehoshua use a person to carry out this function or simply an invisible power? Acts 2:1-4 1 And when the day of Pentecost was fully come, they were all with one accord in one place.2 And suddenly there came a sound from heaven as of a rushing mighty wind, and it filled all the house where they were sitting.3 And there appeared unto them cloven tongues like as of fire, and it sat upon each of them.4 And they were all filled with the Holy Ghost, and began to speak with other tongues, as the Spirit gave them utterance. Notice a couple things here, that the holy ghost is described as a mighty rushing wind and cloven tongues like fire. This is what Hebrews 1;7 says that God makes His angels (winds and flames of fire). This could easily describe an angel even though the language used could describe an invisible power of God without personage. Verse 4 says that the Spirit gave the apostles utterance. Remember, that the utterance that the apostles spoke with is the preaching of the gospel of the Kingdom. In other words, Jehoshua gave commandments to the apostles to preach by way of the Holy Ghost. The Spirit who gave the apostles utterance can either be an invisible impersonal power of God or a person as this passage doesn't prove either view. What will confirm the identity of the Holy Spirit is other passages in the book of Acts which show the Holy Spirit giving the apostolic congregation commandments. Acts 8:26 "And the angel of Jehovah spake unto Philip, saying, Arise, and go toward the south unto the way that goeth down from Jerusalem unto Gaza, which is desert." Acts 8:29 "Then the Spirit said unto Philip, Go near, and join thyself to this chariot." Just 3 verses later after the angel of Jehovah tells Phillip to go to Gaza we now read that the Spirit tells Phillip to join the Ethiopion eunuch in his chariot. This Spirit is obvious one and the same as the angel of Jehovah who told Phillip to go to Gaza. Remember, angels are spirits and they are holy. It wouldn't make sense for the angel of Jehovah to speak to Phillip and then just a little bit later (3 verses) that some invisible non personal power speaks to Phillip. The connection between the angel of Jehovah and the Spirit is undeniable. Here we see the angel of Jehovah giving Phillip a commandment to go to Gaza. Remember, Acts 1:1-2 said that Jehoshua would give the apostolic congregation commandments through the Holy Spirit. Just 3 verses later the Spirit then gives Phillip a commandment to join the Ethiopion eunuch in his chariot. Verses 27-38 detail Phillip's evangelism towards the ehtiopian eunuch. Let's go to verse 39: "And when they were come up out of the water, the Spirit of Jehovah caught away Philip, that the eunuch saw him no more: and he went on his way rejoicing" This obviously is the same Spirit that commanded Phillip in verse 29 to join the Ethiopion in his chariot which just 3 verses earlier commanded him (Phillip) to go to Gaza, who was identified as the angel of Jehovah. The Spirit is the angel of Jehovah which is obvious here in Acts 8. Here in verse 39, the Spirit is referred to as "the Spirit of Jehovah". Remember, angels are Spirits and this could have easily been rendered as "the Angel of Jehovah" which precisely it was in verse 26. Spirit and angel can be used interchangeably. Now let's go a chapter where Stephen gives a discourse regarding the angel of Jehovah appearing to Moses. Acts 7;29-35 Then fled Moses at this saying, and was a stranger in the land of Madian, where he begat two sons.30 And when forty years were expired, there appeared to him in the wilderness of mount Sina an angel of the Lord in a flame of fire in a bush.31 When Moses saw it, he wondered at the sight: and as he drew near to behold it, the voice of the Lord came unto him,32 Saying, I am the God of thy fathers, the God of Abraham, and the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob. Then Moses trembled, and durst not behold.33 Then said the Lord to him, Put off thy shoes from thy feet: for the place where thou standest is holy ground. person to carry out this function or simply an invisible power? Acts 2:1-4 1 And when the day of Pentecost was fully come, they were all with one accord in one place.2 And suddenly there came a sound from heaven as of a rushing mighty wind, and it filled all the house where they were sitting.3 And there appeared unto them cloven tongues like as of fire, and it sat upon each of them.4 And they were all filled with the Holy Ghost, and began to speak with other tongues, as the Spirit gave them utterance. Then Moses trembled, and durst not behold.33 Then said the Lord to him, Put off thy shoes from thy feet: for the place where thou standest is holy ground.cloud where they (Moses and Jehovah) communed. The angel gave Moses the commandments. Its noteworthy that it is posited often that Jehovah God Himself gave Moses the commandments. This is because when the angel of Jehovah speaks it as if Jehovah Himself is speaking. Exodus 19 - 34 detail Jehovah giving Moses commandments to give to the people of Israel and in Acts 7:38 it says that it was the angel who actually gave Moses the oracles of God showing that the Angel is Jehovah's representative and brings Jehovah's presence with him. They angel has authority to speak on behalf of Jehovah as if He is Jehovah Himself. The angel didn't speak of Himself but only spoke what Jehovah spoke through Him and repeatedly declared the name of Jehovah God as if He was Jehovah Himself. The same angel that gave Moses the commandments is identified as the same angel that spoke to Moses in the bush and identified Himself as Jehovah God again showing that the angel is Jehovah's mouth piece. This same angel is also identified by Stephen in Acts 7:35 as the angel who delivered Moses and the Israelites from bondage in Eygpt culminating in the parting of the red sea which Isaiah 63 clearly says was the angel of Jehovah's presence, Jehovah's holy Spirit and the angel of Jehovah. The appearance at the bush, deliverance in the red sea, and the giving of the commandments of God were all done by the same angel. This is also the same angel that caused Israel to rest in the wilderness which then we know is the same angel that Moses was told would have Jehovah's name in Him and would not pardon their transgressions if they hearkened not unto his voice. Obviously Isaiah 63 shows that the Israelites eventually rebelled against Jehovah's holy Spirit i.e. the angel of Jehovah and thereby Jehovah became Israel's enemy fighting against them. In Exodus 23 Moses is told that if they heard the voice of the angel then Jehovah would be an enemy to their enemies. Of course the opposite is true. Acts 7:51 "Ye stiffnecked and uncircumcised in heart and ears, ye do always resist the Holy Ghost: as your fathers did, so do ye" Stephen says that the religious leaders have been and are rejecting the holy Ghost just as their forefathers did. This is exactly what is said of the Israelites in Isaiah 63: 9 In all their affliction he was afflicted, and the angel of his presence saved them: in his love and in his pity he redeemed them; and he bare them, and carried them all the days of old.10 But they rebelled, and grieved his holy Spirit: therefore he was turned to be their enemy, and himself fought against them. In the context of Isaiah 63 as noted earlier in this study we see that the Holy Spirit is one and the same as the angel of Jehovah's presence and the angel of Jehovah. The old testament Israelites were rebelling against Jehovah's holy Spirit which is the angel His presence (verse 9) and that is why He turned to be their enemy and fight against them as He warned them in Exodus 23:20-33 t0 obey the voice of the angel that He would send before them. This is the same Holy Spirit that He put within the midst of Israel delivering them in the red sea and leading them in the wilderness. This is rightly identified as the angel of Jehovah's presence in Isaiah 63 as well as the angel of Jehovah in Acts 7 and the Spirit of Jehovah God and Holy Spirit in Isaiah 63.

Acts 19:4-5
4 And Paul said, John baptized with the baptism of repentance, saying unto the people that they should believe on him that should come after him, that is, on Jehoshua.5 And when they heard this, they were baptized into the name of the Lord Jehoshua. Paul baptizes some disciples into the name of the King Jehoshua. They had already been baptized in the baptism of John. It is significant that whenever we read of baptism that it is into the name of Jehoshua not the Father, Son and holy Spirit. This is because baptism represents the death, burial and resurrection of Jehoshua. The Father and the Holy Spirit did not die nor resurrect so it wouldn't make sense to baptize people using that formula. To be baptized into the name of Jehoshua means to be baptized into His authority. The authority that He has is rooted in the Davidic covenant and His Kingship as a result of that covenant. Acts 19:6-7 6And when Paul had laid his hands upon them, the Holy Spirit came on them; and they spake with tongues, and prophesied.7And they were in all about twelve men. The result of being anointed with the gift of speaking in tongues results in prophesying. Tongues is not babbling as practiced my modern Evangelicalism and charismatic churches. To prophesy means to declare something so that the hearers can understand. On the day of Pentecost, the gift of tongues resulted in men from every nation hearing the gospel of the Kingdom in their own languages. Babbling tongues serves no purpose and does not result in the preaching of the Kingdom gospel whereas the tongues of the holy Spirit leads to the prophetic witness of the Kingdom. Here, the brethren receive tongues and prophesy which basically is preaching the testimony of Jehoshua Messiah who is the Spirit of prophecy. This can only be done if it's understood which means it has to be done in a known language. Acts 19:8 "And he entered into the synagogue, and spake boldly for the space of three months, reasoning and persuading [as to] the things concerning the kingdom of God." This was likely on the Sabbath day when he entered the synagogue. Paul, just like Jehoshua, preached the Kingdom of God. The dispensational teaching that Paul taught a different gospel than Jehoshua is false. Acts 19:9-10 9But when some were hardened and disobedient, speaking evil of the Way before the multitude, he departed from them, and separated the disciples, reasoning daily in the school of Tyrannus.10And this continued for the space of two years; so that all they that dwelt in Asia heard the word of the Lord, both Jews and Greeks. The early believers were called "the way" because the faith was a way of life not systemic theology. Jehoshua said He was the way, the truth and the life. By calling themselves "the way" they identified themselves who followed the teachings of Jehoshua as the way to God. It would have been strange to early believers to say that Jehoshua's teachings do not have to be followed. Paul preached the word of the Lord to both Jews and Gentiles. This shows that there is only one gospel which applies to both Jews and Greeks. There is not two different ones as dispensationalists teach. The word of the Lord is the same as the word of God which is the gospel of the Kingdom. So again, when we think of the phrase "word of God" it is not regarding a 66 book canon but rather the gospel of the Kingdom. Acts 19:17-20 17And this became known to all, both Jews and Greeks, that dwelt at Ephesus; and fear fell upon them all, and the name of the Lord Jesus was magnified.18Many also of them that had believed came, confessing, and declaring their deeds.19And not a few of them that practised magical arts brought their books together and burned them in the sight of all; and they counted the price of them, and found it fifty thousand pieces of silver 20 So mightily grew the word of the Lord and prevailed." Again, the word of the Lord is eqauted with the gospel of the Kingdom not a 66 book bible. Prior to these verses, Paul was able to heal by God working thru him. By the healings and also the misuse of the name of the Lord Jehoshua in trying to excercise demons, the name of Jehoshua was magnified. In our presentation of the Kingdom we must always lift up the name of our King Jehoshua. His Kingship must be emphasized so that people honor Him as the rightful King. Those who had practiced magical arts (witchcraft) brought their books and burned them. This shows that we are to not to own anything in our possession that promotes witchcraft or sorcery even if it is for research. This shows indeed that repentance from sin was part of the message of the gospel. Acts 20:24-25 24 But I hold not my life of any account as dear unto myself, so that I may accomplish my course, and the ministry which I received from the Lord Jehoshua, to testify the gospel of the grace of God. 25 And now, behold, I know that ye all, among whom I went about preaching the kingdom, shall see my face no more. Notice that Paul was both preaching the gospel of the grace of God and the gospel of the Kingdom showing that they are one and the same. Dispensationalism tries to make a distinction in order to promote their antinomian gospel but we see that there is no distinction between them at all. Just as John the Baptist and Jehoshua preached the gospel of the Kingdom so did Paul. Acts 20:32 "And now I commend you to God, and to the word of his grace, which is able to build [you] up, and to give [you] the inheritance among all them that are sanctified" The word of God's grace is another way of saying the gospel of the Kingdom. Acts 21:32 "Then Paul answered, What do ye, weeping and breaking my heart? for I am ready not to be bound only, but also to die at Jerusalem for the name of the Lord Jehoshua" Everything that the apostles did was in and for the name of the Lord Jehoshua Messiah. Name represents character, identity and authority. Character as the perfect representation of God's love keeping His commandments thereby being the spotless lamb. Identity - the royal seed of David, the Messiah and Son of God in which the inheritance belongs to. Authority- as the Davidic King of Israel Jehoshua has been given all authority in heaven and on earth. Acts 24:14-15 14But this I confess unto thee, that after the Way which they call a sect, so serve I the God of our fathers, believing all things which are according to the law, and which are written in the prophets;15having hope toward God, which these also themselves look for, that there shall be a resurrection both of the just and unjust. Paul still believed in the law of God contrary to the antinomian doctrine taught by the Evangelicals that Paul brought in a lawless gospel. Paul says that the hope that we have in God is the resurrection which he says will be both of the just and unjust. This shows that Paul believed like Jehoshua, Peter, John and Daniel that there was only one resurrection not two separated by a thousand years. Also, Paul posits the resurrection as the hope of the Christian not dying and going to heaven. Acts 24:25-25 24But after certain days, Felix came with Drusilla, his wife, who was a Jewess, and sent for Paul, and heard him concerning the faith in Christ Jesus. 25 And as he reasoned of righteousness, and self-control, and the judgment to come, Felix was terrified, and answered, Go thy way for this time; and when I have a convenient season, I will call thee unto me. The gospel of the Kingdom is referred to as the faith in Jehoshua Messiah. There is no Kingdom without the Son of God. Part of the preaching of the gospel is the call to righteousness, and the judgment at the last day that follows the destruction of the nations and the resurrection. Acts 25:18-19 18Concerning whom, when the accusers stood up, they brought no charge of such evil things as I supposed;19but had certain questions against him of their own religion, and of one Jehoshua, who was dead, whom Paul affirmed to be alive. Again, the resurrection is central to the gospel. Jehoshua was dead and then made alive. The teaching that Jehoshua continued to exist as a disembodied soul when He was in the grave is anti-gospel and nowhere is stated in scripture. Acts 26:6-8 6 And now I stand [here] to be judged for the hope of the promise made of God unto our fathers; 7 unto which [promise] our twelve tribes, earnestly serving [God] night and day, hope to attain. And concerning this hope I am accused by the Jews, O king! 8 Why is it judged incredible with you, if God doth raise the dead? The hope of God going all the way back to the Patriarchs is the resurrection of the dead for which Paul says is the reason he was accused by the Jews. The resurrection is central to the gospel message. Acts 26:16-18 16 But arise, and stand upon thy feet: for to this end have I appeared unto thee, to appoint thee a minister and a witness both of the things wherein thou hast seen me, and of the things wherein I will appear unto thee;17 delivering thee from the people, and from the Gentiles, unto whom I send thee,18 to open their eyes, that they may turn from darkness to light and from the power of Satan unto God, that they may receive remission of sins and an inheritance among them that are sanctified by faith in me. Paul is speaking of his conversion experience and what the King Jehoshua told him. Paul's Kingdom gospel mission was to open the eyes of the Gentiles. Remember the qoute from Jehoshua when He began His ministry in Luke 4? "And recovering of sight to the blind" Key to the gospel message is to open the eyes of those enslaved to the darkness of Satan's kingdom (power) to the light of the Kingdom of God. This fits perfectly with what Paul says in Colossians 1;12-13 12giving thanks unto the Father, who made us meet to be partakers of the inheritance of the saints in light;13who delivered us out of the power of darkness, and translated us into the kingdom of the Son of his love. This was Paul's orders, which was to turn the Gentiles from the power of darkness to being translated the Kingdom of the Son of God. When the Gentiles or Jews repented they then received remission of sins and became partakers of those sanctified by faith in Jehoshua in the inheritance of the Davidic Kingdom. Jehoshua did the heavy lifting when He walked this earth of binding the strong man (Satan) by the works He was doing by the Spirit of Jehovah God. Once Jehoshua bound Satan, He then went into Satan's house (palace) and spoiled (stripped) him of his goods (kingdom subjects) and translated them into His (Jehoshua's) Kingdom. This truth of repenting and then being translated from Satan's kingdom into the Kingdom of Jehoshua Messiah is essential to the gospel message. Being translated into the Kingdom of the Son of God doesn't just mean we now belong to some intellectual faith where we one day die and go to heaven, but rather it means we are partakers of the inheritance of the saints. It's also important to share this in our gospel message as it is the hope of the Kingdom. Paul talks about this in Ephesians 2: 12 that ye were at that time separate from Messiah, alienated from the commonwealth of Israel, and strangers from the covenants of the promise, having no hope and without God in the world. 13 But now in Messiah Jehoshua ye that once were far off are made nigh in the blood of Messiah. Paul says that upon conversion by faith in the blood of Messiah we become citizens of the Commonwealth of Israel and partakers of the covenants of promise. What are these covenants of promise? It's important to know this as to have an answer for the hope that is within us. The covenants of promise are the Sabbath covenant which is a covenant of rest, completely fulfilled in our eternal rest in the new heavens and new earth. We partake of this rest now in Messiah as well as the day of rest that remains which is the Seventh day Sabbath (Hebrews 4). The Abrahamic covenant, which is a covenant of righteousness by faith, as Abraham. was promised offspring numbered as the sand of the sea fulfilled in Jehoshua and those in His Kingdom. Also, the land grant given to Abraham to be fulfilled in the new heavens and new earth (Hebrews 11). The Davidic covenant which makes us kings and priests receiving the sure mercies of David upon our spiritual begetting from above. In this covenant we reign with the Messiah in the heavenly places. We are also upon conversion we are translated into the Davidic Kingdom (Acts 15) which is the Kingdom of God's dear Son (Colossians 1:12-13). The new covenant which is in the blood of the Son of God. In this covenant we now have God's law written on our hearts and our sins are blotted out and we experience seasons of refreshing from the presence of Jehovah God. In this covenant we now have access to the holy of holies directly by way of Jehoshua Messiah. Acts 26:20-23 20But shewed first unto them of Damascus, and at Jerusalem, and throughout all the coasts of Judaea, and then to the Gentiles, that they should repent and turn to God, and do works meet for repentance.21For these causes the Jews caught me in the temple, and went about to kill me.22Having therefore obtained help of God, I continue unto this day, witnessing both to small and great, saying none other things than those which the prophets and Moses did say should come:23 That Christ should suffer, and that he should be the first that should rise from the dead, and should shew light unto the people, and to the Gentiles. The message of the gospel is one of repentance and turning to God. The word repent is rendered from the Greek word "metanoeo" (Strongs 3340) and means "to change one's mind, i.e. to repent, to change one's mind for better, heartily to amend with abhorrence of one's past sins". Contrary to what the Evangelicals teach, repentance includes turning away from your sins and then turning towards God as Paul says and doing works meet for repentance. This is the same gospel that Jehoshua preached. Peter the apostle says to repent and be converted that your sins may be blotted out (Acts 3:19) and he says also that Jehoshua was raised up as God's Messiah to turn the Israelites away from their iniquities (lawlessness i.e. sin). Repentance includes turning away from your sins which involves a change of mind. Paul then says once repentance and turning to Go takes place we are to do works meet (fit) for repentance. Can you imagine that? Paul actually says we are to do works that show we have truly repented. This is exactly in harmony with what James the brother of Jehoshua says in James 2: 20 But wilt thou know, O vain man, that faith without works is dead?21Was not Abraham our father justified by works, when he had offered Isaac his son upon the altar?22Seest thou how faith wrought with his works, and by works was faith made perfect?23And the scripture was fulfilled which saith, Abraham believed God, and it was imputed unto him for righteousness: and he was called the Friend of God.24Ye see then how that by works a man is justified, and not by faith only.25Likewise also was not Rahab the harlot justified by works, when she had received the messengers, and had sent them out another way?26For as the body without the spirit is dead, so faith without works is dead also. This is contrary to the false Evangelical church that says works play no part or just a little part in our salvation. James exposes the faith alone doctrine of Martin Luther and the Evangelicals as false. Paul shows that he also preaches a faith-works doctrine just like Jehoshua, Peter, James, John and the rest of the prophets and preachers of the bible. Paul also preaches that Messiah was supposed to suffer and then be the first to rise from the dead. Again, this shows the centrality of the resurrection in preaching the gospel. Not only the resurrection of Jehoshua but also that being resurrected from the dead is our hope as Paul says that Jehoshua is the first to rise from the dead which is a reference to first fruits. This is why we need to honor first fruits as Jehoshua's resurrection day because it reminds us that one day we will follow Him in the resurrection at the last day. This is why the immortal soul doctrine is a doctrine of demons because it obscures the blessed hope of the resurrection. Paul also says that once Jehoshua rose from the dead He would show light unto the Gentiles and the whole world. That light is the Davidic Kingdom (Colossians 1:12-13). It was prophesied that the Davidic King would shew forth light unto the Gentiles (Isaiah 9 and 42) Acts 28:23 "And when they had appointed him a day, they came to him into his lodging in great number; to whom he expounded [the matter,] testifying the kingdom of God, and persuading them concerning Jehoshua, both from the law of Moses and from the prophets, from morning till evening." Paul preached the Kingdom of God proving that the gospel.he preached is the very same one announced by John the Baptist and preached by Jehoshua Messiah. The idea that Paul came to give us another gospel from the one preached by John the Baptist and Jehoshua Messiah is an absolute Satanic delusion. Paul also preached Jehoshua from the law of Moses and the prophets. There was no new testament at this time so the apostles had to use the old testament scriptures in order to prove that Jehoshua is the Messiah. Unfortunately many Christians today would be hard pressed to prove that Jehoshua is the Messiah from the old testament only, due to their misconception of who Jehoshua is. Their doctrine of the trinity causes them to look for Jehoshua in the old testament as a preexistent divine being which then confuses and complicates who He is according to the law and the prophets. If we have the right identity of who Jehoshua is, then we can easily find prophecies about Him in the old testament. However, if we hold him to be a preexistent divine being then we look for him in places where He isn't and then identify Him as either the angel of Jehovah which outright contradicts what/who Moses and the prophets said the Messiah would be in identity. Also, the the trinitarians often identify Jehoshua as Jehovah God Himself in the old testament thereby confusing the relationship between Jehovah God and His Davidic king. It leads to the absurdity of Jehoshua being His own Messiah. The law and the prophets are clear that there is a sharp distinction between Jehovah God and His Messiah. When Paul was proving Jehoshua's Messiahship to both Jews and Gentiles he was going back to the so called old testament scriptures and it is highly unlikely that he was identifying Jehoshua as Jehovah God or the angel of Jehovah. It is far more likely that he was identifying Jehoshua as the prophesied royal seed of David and human Messiah. Acts 28:30-31 30And he abode two whole years in his own hired dwelling, and received all that went in unto him,31preaching the kingdom of God, and teaching the things concerning the Lord Jehoshua Messiah with all boldness, none forbidding him. The very verse before this Paul rebuked bis countrymen and said that this word of salvation is now gone forth to the Gentiles. In the above text of Acts 28 we see that for two years many are visiting Paul and look what he is preaching to them "the Kingdom of God". This is the very same Kingdom gospel that John the Baptist published as well as the same gospel that Jehoshua preached until He died on the cross. The dispensaltionalist doctrine that Jehoshua's gospel was only for the Jews is an outright Satanic lie. Jehoshua's gospel is the only gospel and Paul, in order to be a true apostle, had to preach the very same gospel. Here we have absolute evidence again that Paul indeed preached the very same gospel as Jehoshua i.e. the gospel of the Kingdom of God. What was part of the Kingdom gospel? Paul says it clearly "teaching the things concerning the Lord Jehoshua Messiah" and he was doing it with all boldness. Paul didnt come to preach anything different than Jehoshua but rather to to preach the very things Jehoshua taught. That's what it means to teach the things concerning the Lord Jehoshua Messiah in that we teach the very things He taught. This includes His Sonship and Messiahship. It also includes His doctrine (instructions) as already mentioned. You cannot seperate Jehoshua from His teachings and that is exactly what Evangelicalism tries to do as they don't want to pick up their cross and deny themselves. This is why they have to set up this false dicotomy between that Paul taught and what Jehoshua taught. So the phrase "teaching the things concerning the Lord Jehoshua Messiah" absolutely includes His teachings as the apostolic church would have no concept of seperating faith in someone from their teachings. To have faith in someone in the Hebraic mindset would mean to believe and practice what they taught. We are to teach what Jehoshua taught with boldness. 3Dav Echad, Darigold Nac and 1 other 20 Comments John 1:1-3 (ASV)
1 In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. 2 The same was in the beginning with God.3 All things were made through him; and without him was not anything made that hath been made. In the beginning of the time of creation, God spoke the the earth, sea and all that in them is into existence (Genesis 1:1-31). The word that was with God was His spoken commandment as in Genesis chapter 1 it says that "God said" 8 times and each time something was created. Just as a man is known by his word, God is known by His word which is His spoken commandment. Psalm 33:6-9 (ASV) 6 By the word of Jehovah were the heavens made, And all the host of them by the breath of his mouth.7 He gathereth the waters of the sea together as a heap: He layeth up the deeps in store-houses.8 Let all the earth fear Jehovah: Let all the inhabitants of the world stand in awe of him.9 For he spake, and it was done; He commanded, and it stood fast. This passage in Psalms 33 makes it clear that the psalmist attributed the creation of the world not to a second member of a multipersonal Godhead or a second divine being but simply to Jehovah God's spoken word and commandment. Isaiah 42:5 5Thus saith God Jehovah, he that created the heavens, and stretched them forth; he that spread abroad the earth and that which cometh out of it; he that giveth breath unto the people upon it, and spirit to them that walk therein. Here Isaiah attributes the creation of the heavens, earth and the people to Jehovah God. Hebrews 11:3 (ASV) 3By faith we understand that the worlds have been framed by the word of God, so that what is seen hath not been made out of things which appear. The author of Hebrews says that the worlds were framed (created) by the word of God. As Psalm 33 shows the word of God comes out of the breath of His mouth and His spoken commandment. In John 17:3 John the apostle says that the Father is the only true God showing that the Jehovah God who spoke everything into existence is the Father. John 1:4-5 4 In him was life; and the life was the light of men.5 And the light shineth in the darkness; and the darkness apprehended it not. This life spoken of above is the spiritual life that Jehovah God gives to men. This is the life that John says was with the Father before it was manifested in the flesh of Jehoshua. 1 John 1:2 2 (and the life was manifested, and we have seen, and bear witness, and declare unto you the life, the eternal [life], which was with the Father, and was manifested unto us); John is saying that there was life with the Father, which is eternal life, and that it was then manifested to the apostles. The order is clear, first there was eternal life which was with the Father previous to it being manifested to the apostles in the flesh of Jehoshua. Eternal life is not solely a new testament concept but it is an attribute inherent in Jehovah God. Paul speaks of this in 1 Timothy 1:17: "Now unto the King eternal, immortal, invisible, the only God, be honor and glory forever and ever. Amen." This is a passage clearly about God the Father and Paul says He is immortal and eternal. This cannot be about Jehoshua because He died and He Himself said that the Father alone is the only true God (John 17:3). Just as in today and in the ministry of the Son of God, darkness rejected the light of Jehovah God in the old testament times. The bible is rich in abundance with stories of men and women including the nation of Israel rejecting God and His instructions. John 1:6 (ASV) 6There came a man, sent from God, whose name was John. Now John transitions from the time of creation and the old testament times to the ministry of John the Baptist. John 1:7 (ASV) 7The same came for witness, that he might bear witness of the light, that all might believe through him. John came to bear witness of the light. Now some say this light is the Son of God and that is true in the sense that Jehovah who is light dwelt in the Messiah during the latter's earthly ministry. John was bearing witness of the Kingdom of God. Malachi 3:1 (ASV) 1Behold, I send my messenger, and he shall prepare the way before me: and the Lord, whom ye seek, will suddenly come to his temple; and the messenger of the covenant, whom ye desire, behold, he cometh, saith Jehovah of hosts. This passage goes with Isaiah 40:3. Here in Malachi 3:1, John is the messenger that is to prepare the way of Jehovah God. Jehoshua is that Lord (Messiah) whom Israel seeks. The hope of Israel was the prophesied Davidic King. Isaiah 40:3 3The voice of one that crieth, Prepare ye in the wilderness the way of Jehovah; make level in the desert a highway for our God. John was the one crying in the wilderness and was ultimately preparing the way of Jehovah God during his ministry. Even though John was the forerunner for the Messiah, ultimately both John and Jehoshua were bringing in the Kingdom of Jehovah God. Jehoshua's function in His ministry was not to glorify Himself but rather to reveal the Father: 1 John 5:20-21 20And we know that the Son of God is come, and hath given us an understanding, that we know him that is true, and we are in him that is true, [even] in his Son Jesus Christ. This is the true God, and eternal life.21[My] little children, guard yourselves from idols. Jehoshua came to give us understanding about God and bring us into a relationship with Him. This was the purpose of His 3 year ministry. Yes Jehoshua is the light of the world but so are we as He Himself stated: Matthew 5:14 "Ye are the light of the world. A city set on a hill cannot be hid." Even though both Jehoshua and us (His disciples) are the lights of the world but it is Jehovah God the Father who is the source of this light as He Himself is light: 1 John 1:5-7 5This then is the message which we have heard of him, and declare unto you, that God is light, and in him is no darkness at all.6If we say that we have fellowship with him, and walk in darkness, we lie, and do not the truth:7But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship one with another, and the blood of Jesus Christ his Son cleanseth us from all sin. John the beloved says that the message of Jehoshua to them was that God is light. Obviously God here is the Father as in verse 7 it says that if we walk in the light (God) the blood of His Son Jehoshua cleanses us from all sin. Both John and Jehoshua came to bring the Kingdom of God to the earth and this Kingdom is also called the marvelous light of the Kingdom of God's dear Son: Colossians 1:12-13 12Giving thanks unto the Father, which hath made us meet to be partakers of the inheritance of the saints in light:13Who hath delivered us from the power of darkness, and hath translated us into the kingdom of his dear Son: The inheritance of the saints in light is the Kingdom of God's dear Son. The Kingdom of heaven is both the Kingdom of God and the Kingdom of His Son because they (Father and Son) are one. 1 Timothy 6:14-16 14That thou keep this commandment without spot, unrebukeable, until the appearing of our Lord Jesus Christ:15Which in his times he shall shew, who is the blessed and only Potentate, the King of kings, and Lord of lords;16Who only hath immortality, dwelling in the light which no man can approach unto; whom no man hath seen, nor can see: to whom be honour and power everlasting. Amen. Focusing on verse 16 here it says that Jehoshua who only has immortality, in terms of human beings, dwells in the light which no man can approach and which no man has seen or can see. Where does our Lord Jehoshua currently reside? In the holy of holies at Jehovah's right hand on the throne of David (Psalm 110:1). The holy of holies in the earthly tabernacle is where Jehovah's shekinah glory would dwell above the mercyseat. Of course this so much more true in the heavenly sanctuary where Jehovah's throne is. Jehovah God is the light where His Son dwells in the most holy place of the sanctuary. This obviously a reference to the Father as this light no man can approach or see. Many saw the Son of God during His earthly ministry and after. John 1:8-9 8 He was not that Light, but was sent to bear witness of that Light.9 That was the true Light, which lighteth every man that cometh into the world. 1 Timothy 6:13 13 I charge thee in the sight of God, who giveth life to all things, and of Christ Jesus, who before Pontius Pilate witnessed the good confession. This passage shows that it is God the Father which gives life to all things and He is the true light which lighteth every man which comes into the world by giving every man life. John 1:10-11 (KJV) 10He was in the world, and the world was made by him, and the world knew him not.11He came unto his own, and his own received him not. Jehovah God was in the world through the agency of His messengers whether angelic or human such as the judges, prophets, priests and Davidic kings. Old testament Israel routinely apostasized and rejected Jehovah God. John 1:12-13 (KJV) 12But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name:13Which were born, not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but of God. If we follow the chronology here, then this refers to God the Father. Jehovah has always gave power to those who had faith in His promises to become sons of God. Being a son of God is not just a new covenant idea but goes back to Adam, Noah, Abraham, the nation of Israel and the Royal seed of David. Just as in the new covenant, to be a son of God in the old testament was a work of God and not man. This shows the sovereignty of Jehovah God in salvation and that to be a son of God requires a spiritual birth which is given to those who believe on the name of Jehovah God. Hebrews 2:12 "Saying, I will declare thy name unto my brethren, in the midst of the church will I sing praise unto thee." In discussing verse 12 of John 1 referring to "them that believe on His name" we must remember that ultimately the Messiah's mission was to reveal the Father to the Church (Jehoshua's called out ones). The Son of God's mission was to explain the Father (John 1:18) and to give us an understanding of the one that is true (1 John 5:20). We are called to believe on the name of the Son of God but in the old testament times Israel was called to believe on the name of Jehovah God the Father. Even today we are to believe on the name of Jehovah God. "Name" represents character, identity and authority. Hebrews 2:12 is a quotation of Psalm 22 which is a Psalm of David. Jehoshua is the eternal David, being the promised royal seed that would inherit the Davidic covenant. David as the King of Israel and son of God was the worship leader of the Church. Jehoshua is also the Son of God and King of Israel (John 1:49).and His function is the same as David's which is to declare God's name to the Congregation by praising Him (Jehovah God). So far we have seen the history God the Father operating in this world by His Word which is His life giving commandment that creates as Genesis 1 states the phrase "God said" 8 times which follows Him creating and giving life. Verses 1-13 are about God the Father and how we know this because the Word isn't made flesh until verse 14 of John 1: "And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth" Now the Son of God comes into view for the first time as it isn't until verse 14 that the Word is made flesh. While many Christian's believe this speaks of Jehoshua's incarnation i.e. virgin birth, when we compare scripture with scripture we see that this verse undoubtedly speaks of His baptism. For one, it is right after the Word is made flesh that He dwells among the apostles. The apostles did not know Jehoshua previous to His baptism, at least there is no scriptural evidence of this. When did the apostles behold the glory of the only begotten Son Jehoshua? During His earthly ministry (transfiguration) and after His resurrection. If the Word made flesh refers to the baptism of Jehoshua and it was subsequent to His baptism that the apostles beheld His glory then it is reasonable to conclude that Jehoshua became the only begotten of the Father at His baptism as the context suggests. While many attribute Jehoshua becoming the begotten Son either before the world began or at the virgin birth, there is plenty of evidence that reveals it was indeed at Jehoshua's baptism in which He was begotten as God's Son. Without bringing the texts into it, many of the older manuscripts quote Psalm 2:7 in the baptism of Jehoshua texts (Luke 3:22; Matthew 3:16-17). This was later changed to reflect the Catholic churches virgin birth doctrine and later eternal generation. Jehoshua Himself actually gives us a good clue as to when He became begotten of the Father. Lets go to John 3: 3 Jehoshua answered and said unto him, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except one be begotten from above by the Spirit, he cannot see the kingdom of God.4 Nicodemus saith unto him, How can a man be begotten when he is old? can he enter a second time into his mother`s womb, and be begotten? 5 Jehoshua answered, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except one be begotten of water and the Spirit, he cannot enter into the kingdom of God!6 That which is begotten of the flesh is flesh; and that which is begotten of the Spirit is spirit. 7 Marvel not that I said unto thee, Ye must be begotten from above. 8 The wind bloweth where it will, and thou hearest the voice thereof, but knowest not whence it cometh, and whither it goeth: so is every one that is begotten of the Spirit. We have to understand that Jehoshua is the pattern for How we are saved and enter into the Kingdom of God. The bible says He is our pattern for how we are to walk. It say that He is our forerunner and the firstborn among many brethren. Jehoshua is said to be the author and finisher of our faith. Many people look over this and think that Jehoshua was just born and thats it He was on a magic carpet ride throughout His life just because He was born as a Godman through a virgin birth. John 3 should say "begotten from above" rather than "born again". I believe this is a deliberate attempt to hide the fact that Jehoshua was telling Nicodemus that He had to be born into the Kingdom the same way He (Jehoshua) was at the Jordan river. The phrase "born again" does not take us to the scene of the Jordan river whereas "begotten from above" does. Jehoshua says that Nicodemus needs to be begotten from above by the Spirit of Jehovah God in order to spiritually see the Kingdom. Clearly Jehoshua was baptized at the Jordan river by the Spirit of Jehovah God from heaven above. Isaiah 11 shows us exactly what took place at Jehoshua's baptism. That passage clearly shows a rebirth of the stem of Jesse i.e. seed of David. This is a spiritual birth i.e. being begotten from above. This is a spiritual begetting. The bible says the flesh profits nothing. Jehoshua Himself says in verse 6 that which is born of the flesh is flesh and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit. Jehoshua is clearly stating that being begotten by the Spirit is what matters not our natural birth. Even though Jehoshua's natural birth mattered because He was of the fruit of David's loins, it is ultimately His spiritual birth that gave Him the power of Jehovah God and the authority to preach the gospel of the Kingdom. There were other sons of David in the past and I'm sure in Jehoshua's time so Him being the seed of David didn't automatically make Him qualified to enter and preach God's Kingdom, He needed the vital spiritual rebirth. There is no doubt that Jehoshua was begotten from above by Jehovah God's Spirit at His baptism. This is also when He was begotten as God's Son. While many may scoff at this the bible elsewhere confirms this. How do we become a son or daughter of God? Galatians 4:4-8 4but when the fulness of the time came, God sent forth his Son, born of a woman, born under the law,5that he might redeem them that were under the law, that we might receive the adoption of sons. 6And because ye are sons, God sent forth the Spirit of his Son into our hearts, crying, Abba, Father.7So that thou art no longer a bondservant, but a son; and if a son, then an heir through God. This passage in Galatians makes it clear that when God sends the Spirit of His Son into our hearts, we then become sons or daughters of God with the right to call God our "abba" which means "Father". Its a term of intimacy. The Spirit of God's Son is a title of the Holy Spirit and it is a title of the Spirit signifying adoption into the family of God. Do you see that we are begotten into the family of God the same way Jehoshua was? Through receiving the Holy Spirit from above which causes us to cry out to God as "Abba". There is no question that Jehoshua is called the Son of God throughout His earthly ministry and claims an intimacy with the Father that was/is unique. It was Him being begotten by the Spirit of Jehovah God that gave Him the rights of Sonship. Verse 4 of Galatians, God sent forth His Son when the fulness of time arrived i.e. the start of the 70th week of the 70 weeks prophecy. The sending of the Son obviously refers to Jehoshua's baptism. Verse 5, The purpose of the Son of God's ministry was to redeem those under the law so that they would become sons of God through adoption. How does one become an adopted son of God? Verse 6 answers this: "God hath sent forth the Spirit of His Son into your hearts" By being given the Spirit of the Son of God we ourselves then become sons of God. This is the begotten from above process in which one becomes saved. What saves someone is being given the Holy Spirit which causes the new birth which is a rebirth into Jehovah's family as His son or daughter. The Holy Spirit is called here the Spirit of the Son to denote the adoption process in receiving the Spirit unto salvation. If Jehoshua is the forerunner and author of our faith then He must of also became the begotten Son of God in this way. Now, Jehoshua of course was predestined to be God's Son (1 Peter 1:18-21) and had a Father-Son relationship with Jehovah even at 12 years old, however it wasn't until He was baptized that He entered into covenant relationship with the Father as the only begotten (son of the inheritance). Jehoshua received the Spirit of Sonship at His baptism entering into the Father-Son covenant relationship that Jehovah God established with David's royal seed. Verse 7, receiving the Spirit of the Son of God changes our status from servants to son's and heirs of God through His Son Jehoshua. This is stated in regards to those who were under the law of Moses. This also is true for all believers who once knew not God but now enjoy the status as sons and daughters due to receiving the Spirit of Sonship (adoption). After Jehoshua's baptism He was almost immediately tempted to disbelieve His Sonship. This shows that the virgin birth is likely untrue as if it was there would have been no point in Satan tempting Him regarding that. This shows that Satan was trying to get Jehoshua to doubt His begotten from above experience, which just took place, in which Jehoshua was begotten as God's Son. Also, all throughout Jehoshua's earthly ministry we see His intimate relationship with the Father. Before His baptism we only see one reference from Jehoshua to God being His Father and it was more of a general reference that almost any Jew could state. The Jews in general could rightly state that God was their Father. We know however that Jehoshua had been predestined for a much higher pedigree than just a general sonship but rather He was going to be anointed as God's only begotten Son (son of inheritance). We as Christians are also begotten sons and daughters of God: 1 Peter 1:3 "Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who according to his great mercy begat us again unto a living hope by the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead" Peter says we are begotten by God when we are begotten from above by the Holy Spirit unto salvation through the hope of Jehoshua's resurrection. Our salvation experience begets us as God's children. John 1:12-13 12But as many as received him, to them gave he the right to become children of God, even to them that believe on his name:13who were begotten, not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but of God. Through faith in the Son of God we ourselves become begotten by God as His sons and daughters. It is not a fleshly natural birth but a spiritual birth. One verse later Jehoshua is called the only begotten of the Father. Do we alter the context to turn this term "begotten" spiritual to natural just to appease Orthodox doctrine? No! We must stay with the context which denotes being begotten by God as spiritual not natural experience both for the Christian and also for their pattern example Jehoshua. 1 John 5:1-2 1Whosoever believeth that Jesus is the Christ is begotten of God: and whosoever loveth him that begat loveth him also that is begotten of him.2Hereby we know that we love the children of God, when we love God and do his commandments. Do you see what John says in verse 1? He says that those who believe that Jehoshua is the Messiah are begotten of God. He then says that our love for those begotten (Christians) of God show they love the one who begat them. Christians are in view as those begotten of the Father. Clearly John is talking about fellow believers as being begotten of God as verse 2 shows. The context of this passage is that we prove our love for God when we love His begotten children which include all Christians most notably the only begotten Son Jehoshua. To have faith in Jehoshua begets us into the family of God. John 1:15 "John beareth witness of him, and crieth, saying, This was he of whom I said, He that cometh after me is become before me: for he was before me." The reference that John makes regarding that the Messiah was before him has to do with rank and status rather than chronological time as John was born before Jehoshua. Some use this as proof of Jehoshua's preexistence however it should be noted the reason that John gave Jehoshua prerogative over himself was that Jehoshua was the lamb of God (John 1:29,35) and also bore witness that Jehoshua was the Son of God (John 1:34). John knew that He was sent to pave the way for the Son of God, Jehovah's Messiah. He said that he was not worthy to unloose the latchett of his shoes. John acknowledged that he was not the Messiah of Jehovah or the prophet of Jehovah but rather the one to prepare the path for Him (Jehoshua). So the reference to Jehoshua being before John need not be about chronological time but rather that as John acknowledged, Jehoshua was the Lamb of God, and Son of God who would baptize with the fire of the Holy Spirit. In John 1:19-37, John the Baptist witnesses that Jehoshua is the prophesied Messiah and that He was going to do great works through the power of the holy spirit. This is how we should understand the words of John the baptist in verse 15 as he nowhere mentions the preexistence of the Messiah as a reason that He (Jehoshua) is before him (John the Baptist) but rather focuses on the prophetic office of Jehoshua as a reason for His exalted status. John 1:16-17 16 For of his fulness we all received, and grace for grace.17 For the law was given through Moses; grace and truth came through Jehoshua Messiah. All needs and lawful wants are promised by the gospel. The fulness (abundance, completeness) of God is found in the Messiah and His doctrine. Full grace according to needs and wants is given to us through the Son of God. Jehoshua lived out the fulness of God's truth and grace and we receive the fulness of the Messiah when we follow His doctrine and manner of life. Moses gave the law, which is good, however Jehoshua gave us the fulness of God's truth and grace taught and lived out. Jehoshua showed us how to live out the law and how to apply it to our lives and the lives of others. Grace and truth existed before Jehoshua Messiah and the law continues to exist as the new covenant is law full of commands. The idea here is that the fulness of grace came by Jehoshua Messiah. John 1:18 "No man hath seen God at any time; the only begotten Son, which is in the bosom of the Father, he hath declared him." Men have seen God, Moses for example was one of them however no man has ever experienced ir comprehended God at any time in all His fullness save the only begotten Son Jehoshua. To be in the bosom of the Father indicates intimate relationship but also positionally as Jehoshua dwells in the shekinah presence of Jehovah God. Jehoshua sits at the right hand of God in the holy of holies in the heavenly sanctuary. Even Stephen saw Jehoshua on the right hand of the glory of God when he was getting stoned by the Jews (Acts 7:56-59). Jehoshua has declared the Father meaning He has explained the Father. The Son of God revealed to us the true character of His Father. John the beloved elsewhere says: 1 John 1:5 "This then is the message which we have heard of him, and declare unto you, that God is light, and in him is no darkness at all" God's character had been misrepresented by the Pharisees and other religious leaders of Israel so the Son of God's mission was to bring the true understanding of who is Father is in character. The Father is light and there is no darkness in Him at all. That was the message the Son brought to Israel. The book of Hebrews chapter 2 says: 11For both he that sanctifieth and they who are sanctified are all of one: for which cause he is not ashamed to call them brethren,12 Saying, I will declare thy name unto my brethren, in the midst of the church will I sing praise unto thee.13 And again, I will put my trust in him. And again, Behold I and the children which God hath given me. Jehoshua is the one who sanctified us by the work He did during His ministry, death, resurrection and ascension and after through the ministry of the holy spirit. He is not ashamed to call us His brothers and sisters as verse 12 is a prophecy from Psalm 22:22. Jehoshua is the first begotten Son of God and we are also begotten sons and daughters of God with Jehoshua as our elder brother. Psalm 22 being qouted shows that one of the main purposes of the Messiah was to declare the name of Jehovah God to His brethren as we are the brethren of Jehoshua. Notice also that the Davidic Messiah would praise Jehovah God in the midst of the congregation (Church). This shows that Jehoshua is a worshipper of God as He praises Him in the congregation. To declare the name of Jehovah God doesn't have anything to do with pronunciation but rather to show His brethren the character of God as name represents character. 1 John 5:20-21 20 And we know that the Son of God is come, and hath given us an understanding, that we may know him that is true, and we are in him that is true, even in his Son Jesus Christ. This is the true God, and eternal life. 21 Little children, keep yourselves from idols. Amen. Jehoshua came to bring us, His brethren, into a close intimate relationship with the Father and that we would know Him as He truly is. Also, one of the main purposes of Jehoshua was that we would know that the Father is the true God as John states at the end of verse 20. John says we are in Him that is true which is the Heavenly Father because then John says were in the one that is true's Son Jehoshua Messiah. So obviously the one that is true is the Father if Jehoshua is the Son of the one that is true. John 17:3 "And this is life eternal, that they might know thee the only true God, and Jehoshua Messiah, whom thou hast sent." Jehoshua's whole purpose was that we as His brethren would know the Father intimately and that the Father is the only true God. This perfectly goes with 1 John 5:20 that Jehoshua came to give us an understanding of the Father and that the Father is the true God. Verse 18 of John 1 should remind us that the whole purpose of the Son of God's earthly ministry was to bring us into a intimate knowledge of who God is, both in identity and character. This verse shows that Jehoshua is indeed God's only begotten Son and that God is His Father. The Kingdom of Jehoshua Messiah vs. The beast government, a battle that has been raging for 2,000 years is coming to a head quickly as we see the beast government growing more and more hostile to the Messiah and His Kingdom.
The culmination of this battle takes place in Revelation 19 which fulfills a Davidic prophecy in Psalm chapter 2. It's important to understand that the State and the Kingdom are at odds naturally so that we make a clear line of demarcation and remain on the right side of that line. It's also important to understand that this battle between the State and the Kingdom only intensifies and becomes more violent the closer we come to the Lord Jehoshua's second advent. Sadly many professing Christians/Messianics/Hebrew roots folks are siding with the State in this war and will continue to do so during the mark of the beast crisis thereby losing out on eternal life and the Kingdom of heaven. We this especially apparent during the so called coronavirus situation where these so called believers are actually siding with the State in the State's demand that Christians not assemble for fellowship. Of course this should be no surprise as Jehoshua said when He returns to the earth will He find faith? Also, He said the road to the Kingdom of heaven is narrow and few find it. Psalm 2:1-3 1 Why do the nations rage, And the peoples meditate a vain thing? 2 The kings of the earth set themselves, And the rulers take counsel together, Against Jehovah, and against his anointed, [saying], 3 Let us break their bonds asunder, And cast away their cords from us. Western Christians in general and American Christians in particular often forget that the very kings, presidents and countries they seek fellowship with and favor from are against their God and against their Messiah. Right off the bat the State government (Rome and Israel) were conspiring against Jehovah God and His only begotten Son Jehoshua, the Messiah. The apostolic church attributed the fulfillment of these 3 verses in Psalm 2 to the persecution of the Son of God by Herod representing the Jews and the State religion of Israel and Pontius Pilate representing the Gentile Roman empire. We see this played out in Jehoshua's life throughout His ministry and then intensifying as the time approached for Him to die on the cross. Matthew chapters 26 and 27 and Luke chapters 22 and 23 detail all this. We actually see the State attempt to destroy the Messiah all the way back to His birth. John chapter 10 even portrays this as the religious Jews want to stone the Messiah. Jehoshua warned the apostles that they were gonna be hated by the world and brought before governors and turned over to the synagogues which are the State churches. Matthew 10:16-19 16Behold, I send you forth as sheep in the midst of wolves: be ye therefore wise as serpents, and harmless as doves.17But beware of men: for they will deliver you up to the councils, and they will scourge you in their synagogues;18And ye shall be brought before governors and kings for my sake, for a testimony against them and the Gentiles.19But when they deliver you up, take no thought how or what ye shall speak: for it shall be given you in that same hour what ye shall speak. Jehoshua's church are sent forth as sheep in the midst of wolves to preach the gospel of the Kingdom. We are to be wise as serpents concerning who we are dealing with when sent out. We are not to be like those in the mainstream Church who put government on a pedestal and almost idolize presidents and the military. Jehoshua tells the apostles to beware of those who would turn them over to the church councils who would then scourge them. Jehoshua was prophesying over them as this would ultimately be fulfilled after He ascended to heaven. This however has an application for Christians of all generations. For example the Anabaptists were turned over to the Protestant and Catholic Church elders and subsequently scourged by beatings, imprisonment, burning at the stake and drowning. In verse 18 Jehoshua says that they will also be brought before the State government such as kings and governors for His sake. This shows that the State is inherently against the Son of God namely because almost everything He stands for is against their principles. Christians will be brought before the State magistrates specifically because of their allegiance to Jehoshua showing that the State is naturally at odds with the Messiah. Something about their allegiance to the Messiah brings them into suspicion before the State. Rather than give in to the State government, Jehoshua says we are not to be anxious for anything but rely on the Spirit of the Father for the words to speak. What's amazing is that Jehoshua says our very own families will turn us over to the State to be persecuted as just a few verses later He says: Matthew 10:21-23 21And the brother shall deliver up the brother to death, and the father the child: and the children shall rise up against their parents, and cause them to be put to death.22And ye shall be hated of all men for my name’s sake: but he that endureth to the end shall be saved.23But when they persecute you in this city, flee ye into another: for verily I say unto you, Ye shall not have gone over the cities of Israel, till the Son of man be come. This passage not only applies to the apostles but Christians of all time as history has clearly shown. As we approach the second advent of Jehoshua we will see a tremendous increase of division amongst family members. This division will not just be the normal family squabbles about the faith but it will lead to betrayal and parents giving up their children to the authorities to be put to death and children doing the same to their parents. One side will give their loyalty to the State beast system and the other side will give their loyalty to the Messiah's Kingdom. Jehoshua says that we will be hated by all nations for His name. Christians will be hated because of their undying loyalty to the Davidic King. They will be hated by the State governments of the whole world. The governments of the world will more and more demand God like worship from their citizens as we get closer to the great and terrible day of Jehovah God. Jehoshua also warns us that we are to expect persecution including being called demonic names. Matthew 10;24-26 24 The disciple is not above his master, nor the servant above his lord. 25 It is enough for the disciple that he be as his master, and the servant as his lord. If they have called the master of the house Beelzebub, how much more shall they call them of his household? 26 Fear them not therefore: for there is nothing covered, that shall not be revealed; and hid, that shall not be known. We should not be surprised nor discouraged when we are called all kinds of evil names by those in the world as they did the same to Jehoshua who is our Lord. The State and those loyal to it will accuse us of all manner of evil and blame us for the ills of society. Since Jehoshua had to suffer persecution at the hands of the rulers of the earth (Psalm 2), we will to as we are not above Him. Here is the encouragement from Jehoshua, He says we are not to fear them. When it comes down to obeying Jehovah God or obeying the State, we are to obey God without any fear of repercussions from the authorities. Those who side with the State in their war against the Kingdom are also not to be feared as we are to boldly stand for the truth of the gospel even when they call us all sorts of names or threaten us with violence. Today's Christians are being trained to appease the government authorities and those of the world by not taking a bold stand for truth and giving in to the government even when it means disobeying God. Whatever the State persecutors of God's church does or says to us in the dark secret places we are to rest assured that all will be revealed and the saints will be given the Judgement and vindicated in Jehovah's court. Matthew 10:27-28 27 What I tell you in darkness, that speak ye in light: and what ye hear in the ear, that preach ye upon the housetops. 28 And fear not them which kill the body, but are not able to kill the soul: but rather fear him which is able to destroy both soul and body in hell. Jehoshua exhorts to speak loudly those things that He has taught us namely His teachings which is the gospel of the Kingdom. Even if the authorities and powers of the State demand that we not preach we are to shout the truth of Jehoshua's doctrine from the rooftops. We are to preach in the daytime and do it loud and visibly. While the enemies of the Church may threaten us we are not to fear them as the most they can do is kill our bodies but afterwards do nothing else. Jehoshua says to fear God only as He is the only one who can cast us into the lake of fire. In verses 29-31 Jehoshua exhorts us not to fear as our Heavenly Father knows every detail about us and if He values the sparrows to the point He knows when one falls to the ground how much more does He value us who are of far more value. Matthew 10:32-33 32Every one therefore who shall confess me before men, him will I also confess before my Father who is in heaven.33But whosoever shall deny me before men, him will I also deny before my Father who is in heaven. Remember, this is within the context of being brought before councils, churches and governors and kings. We will be asked to give a testimony of the Son of God due to the betrayal suffered at the hands of our own family members. The testimony we will have to give will be one where we profess absolute loyalty to Jehoshua Messiah and His Kingdom. We will have to deny the State's authority to try and get us to stop preaching in the name of the Messiah and their attempt to get us to break God's commandments. We will also be required to profess allegiance to God and His only begotten Son Jehoshua and deny giving allegiance to the government and their rulers. Matthew 10:35-36 34 Think not that I came to send peace on the earth: I came not to send peace, but a sword.35 For I came to set a man at variance against his father, and the daughter against her mother, and the daughter in law against her mother in law: 36 and a man`s foes [shall be] they of his own household. Many false Pastors keep screaming "peace, peace" even in times of obvious peril yet Jehoshua Himself said He came to bring a sword of division and not peace. Jehoshua makes it clear that He didn't come to bring peace on the earth. The false prophets of Christendom cry for world peace which is against Jehoshua's will. The false religious leaders and those in State government effort for world unity and peace but again they are working against Jehoshua Messiah who wants division on the earth. How come you don't hear this in Churches? Because it is not a popular message and most Pastors today are hirelings more concerned with not offending people so they can keep their method of living which is a paid salary. Jehoshua makes it clear that the division He brings even separates family members, even a father against his son and mother against her daughter and a man's enemies will be those of his own household. Why is this not preached from the rooftops by Pastors? Instead they preach the opposite and blame those who are sold out for the Kingdom for being bad husbands, bad wives, bad parents, bad children. They even shame them and ostracize them yet Jehoshua esteems the one who hates the lives of his or her family members and does not side with these sellout Pastors who give the false message of peace between family members at the cost of completely following Jehoshua. Jehoshua knew that some in one family would follow Him and others would not. He doesn't rebuke the family members that forsake and leave behind their other family who don't want to pick up their cross but He rebukes the one who uses family as an excuse to not labor for the Kingdom and completely devote one's life to the cause of the Kingdom. Matthew 10:37-38 37 He that loveth father or mother more than me is not worthy of me; and he that loveth son or daughter more than me is not worthy of me .38And he that doth not take his cross and follow after me, is not worthy of me. Those who love their parents more than Jehoshua or even their own children are not worthy of Him. They are not worthy to bear the name "Christian". While many would deny they love their parents or children more than Jehoshua their actions say otherwise. They will allow so called family commitments to keep them from being single-minded about the Kingdom and picking up their cross to follow the Son of God. They do this in the way they live, they strive to climb up the corporate ladder in order to provide the material possessions this life has to offer to their wife and children. They work overtime a lot just to make sure their kids go to college, yet the preaching and laboring for the Kingdom gets left behind because they have been brainwashed by the world that success in this life is what counts and thereby as Jehoshua says: Matthew 10:39 "He that findeth his life shall lose it; and he that loseth his life for my sake shall find it." Don't think you can have both, the earthly success in this life, the gain of material possessions and the love of your family members life in this world and the Kingdom of God. That is impossible as Jehoshua says those who find their life in this world will lose it in the age to come in the Kingdom of Heaven. However, those who hate the lives of their wife, daughter, father, mother, son will gain it in the Kingdom of God via eternal life. How do we hate the lives of our family members? We pick up our cross daily and follow the Son of God whithersoever He goes being single-minded about the Kingdom of God. This means we don't build our treasures here on earth but rather in heaven. We don't strive for corporate success, we don't put so called family commitments before the commandments of the Son of God such as sports, family gatherings, over working to put our kids in colleges that will only attempt to poison their minds anyways with their vain philosophies of men. What does Jehoshua say about apostates and lukewarm so called Christian's that take their hand off the plow and look back: Luke 9:62 "But Jehoshua said unto him, No man, having put his hand to the plow, and looking back, is fit for the kingdom of God." These are the words of Jehoshua Messiah, the Davidic King. Don't let any of these lukewarm Christians fool you, Jehoshua meant exactly what He said. Amazingly, the Messiah said these words to a man that when told to follow Him (Jehoshua) responded that he had to bury his father first. See, this is what Jehoshua meant when He said to hate the life of your family members that even a funeral or taking care of a near death loved one is not to be used as a reason for not following the Son of God and laboring for the Kingdom. Of course, Jehoshua knew that this man's father had other relatives to take care of him or bury him but the absolute loyalty and commitment that Jehoshua demands from us is plainly evident in this passage (Luke 9:57-62). In verse 60 of that passage Jehoshua says: "But he said unto him, Leave the dead to bury their own dead; but go thou and publish abroad the kingdom of God" See, we are not to let even important family matters such as burying a family member keep us from preaching (publishing) the Kingdom of God. Those who begin a faith walk with Messiah and at any point in their walk look back because of so called family commitments are not fit for the Kingdom of God. My friends, true Christianity is not for the faint of heart as it requires self denial and a daily cross. It requires us to disobey the State when they ask us to transgress the teachings of the Son of God and to not preach and gather in His name. It requires us to lay down our lives and to put even important family matters and relationships at the back burner, even giving them up altogether, so that we can preach the gospel of the Kingdom. It requires us to disobey the so called State churches when they try to get us to go along with government mandates that go against the commandments of God and His Son Jehoshua. Today's Christian world is increasingly leaving behind the teachings of the Son of God and also minimizing Him being exclusively the way to God. This is a result of a false Jehoshua being created by the institutional Church and also promoted by the "world".
In this study I want to show that the teachings of Jehoshua Messiah are absolutely paramount to Christianity and that He is absolutely the only way to be in covenant relationship with God Almighty. Also, that obedience to His teachings are the only way to eternal life and the only to live a Christian life in the here and now. John 14:6 "Jehoshua saith unto him, I am the way, and the truth, and the life: no one cometh unto the Father, but by me." When Jehoshua says that He is the way He is referring to the way of life that He lived out during His earthly ministry. We are to pick up our cross and follow the Son of God. When He speaks of the truth He is speaking of His doctrine i.e. His commandments given during His ministry summed up in the sermon on the mount (Matthew 5-7). When Jehoshua says He is the life, He is speaking of the eternal life that is in Him that we can only get by being connected to Him as He is the vine and we are the branches. When we stay connected to Jehoshua by keeping His commandments He supplìes us with His Spirit which is the Spirit of truth. If we as the branches remain connected to the vine we will be raised up to eternal life on the last day. John 5:21 "For as the Father raiseth the dead and giveth them life, even so the Son also giveth life to whom he will." Just as the Father raised Jehoshua from the dead, Jehoshua will raise up His branches from the dead giving us life eternal. John 5:26 "For as the Father hath life in himself, even so gave he to the Son also to have life in himself" This life that the Father has is resurrection life and He has given that life to His Son, It is eternal life. In between verses 21 and 26 is the condition to get that eternal life at the resurrection of the last day: John 5:24 "Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that heareth my word, and believeth him that sent me, hath eternal life, and cometh not into judgment, but hath passed out of death into life." It is only those who hear the words of the Messiah and believes in His Father that has eternal life and won't come into judgment at the last day. Jehoshua's word is whatever He spoke during His earthly ministry. To hear His word isn't simply to believe it mentally but it's actually to do it by being obedient to it. Jehoshua even says that those who merely listen to His commandments but don't do them are foolish: Matthew 7:26 "And every one that heareth these words of mine, and doeth them not, shall be likened unto a foolish man, who built his house upon the sand" Contrary to the easy believests, just listening to the Son of God's teachings are not enough as you must actually perform them. Jehoshua's statement that He is the way, the truth and the life leaves absolutely no possibility that one can have a relationship with God without first going through Him. Jehoshua's lived out a way of life for us to follow, He spoke the truth of God's commandments for us to obey and eternal life is only found in Him. John 14:10 "Believest thou not that I am in the Father, and the Father in me? the words that I say unto you I speak not from myself: but the Father abiding in me doeth his works." We must always remember that Jehoshua wasn't speaking on His own accord but rather everything He spoke was given to Him by the Father. This makes Him the true prophet for of He spake His own words and doctrine then He wouldn't be the fulfillment of the prophet Moses spoke of in Deuteronomy 18: 18 I will raise them up a prophet from among their brethren, like unto thee; and I will put my words in his mouth, and he shall speak unto them all that I shall command him.19And it shall come to pass, that whosoever will not hearken unto my words which he shall speak in my name, I will require it of him. Jehovah God speaking through Moses says that He will put words and commands in the mouth of the prophet and that whosoever doesn't hearken (listen and obey) God Himself will require it of that person. In other words Jehovah God will judge you and His wrath will abide on you (John 3:3-6). John 14:12 "Verily, verily, I say unto you, he that believeth on me, the works that I do shall he do also; and greater [works] than these shall he do; because I go unto the Father." To believe on Jehoshua is not merely that He died on the cross for our sins and that He is the Son of God but it is to faith in what He taught and to keep it. The word "believeth" is rendered from the Greek word "pisteuo" (4100) and means "believe, commit unto, commit to one's trust, be committed unto, put in trust with, be commit to one's trust, to be persuaded of, fidelity" Certainly the word "believeth" includes intellectual faith as that is a no brainer but it carries the meaning also of fidelity (faithfulness) i.e. being faithful to that thing you are committed to. When we hear the word fidelity we think of the Marines and their slogan "Semper Fi". Can you imagine a Marine saying I believe what the Marines stand for but I don't have to follow it to be a Marine. This mindset would lead to the marine getting kicked out with a dishonorable discharge. Think of a marriage where a wife said I believe that I am married but I don't have to keep the vows. That woman would eventually find herself divorced. Remember the congregation of Messiah is both likened to an army and a bride. John 14:15-16 15 If ye love me, ye will keep my commandments.16 And I will pray the Father, and he shall give you another Comforter, that he may be with you for ever. The love of Messiah is based and rooted in keeping His commandments. Many American Christians simply ignore this passage and hold on to a lawless gospel. Basically the Messiah says that if you don't keep His commandments you don't really love Him and that is absolutely true. Just as in a marriage, a wife who doesn't keep her marriage vows doesn't really love her husband no matter how much he says he does. To remain in the Son of God's love one must keep His commandments which are His teachings all throughout His ministry summed up in the sermon on the mount. Receiving the holy Spirit is even conditional based upon keeping the commandments of the Son of God (verse 16). John 14:21 "He that hath my commandments, and keepeth them, he it is that loveth me: and he that loveth me shall be loved of my Father, and I will love him, and will manifest myself unto him." Jehoshua reiterates His declaration that whoever loves Him will keep His commandments. It is only those that keep His commandments that love Him and that is according to the Davidic King Himself. The obvious inference is also true which is that those who don't keep the commandments of Jehoshua don't love Him. And it is he that loves Jehoshua by keeping His commandments that will be loved of the Father and the Son. It will be those that keep the commandments of the Messiah that will have the Messiah revealed to them by His Spirit i.e. the comforter. Just as God's love is rooted in His commandments His Son's love is also rooted in His commandments. John 14:23 "Jehoshua answered and said unto him, If a man love me, he will keep my word: and my Father will love him, and we will come unto him, and make our abode with him." It can't be stated any more plainly as Jehoshua says those that keep His word (doctrine) are those that love Him and the opposite is also true in that those who don't keep His sayings don't truly love Him. The Son of God reiterates what He said in verse 21 which is that those who keep His word will be loved by the Father and both the Father and He will come and make their abode (dwelling place) with them. This will be done through the Holy Spirit which is also called the Spirit of God and Spirit of Messiah (Romans 8:8-11). John 14:24 "He that loveth me not keepeth not my words: and the word which ye hear is not mine, but the Father`s who sent me." Just in case anyone doubted that Jehoshua meant what He said He is very clear here as He says that those that don't keep His words (commandments) don't love Him. Again, the love of the Son of God is based and rooted in keeping His commandments. John 14:26 "But the Comforter, [even] the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in my name, he shall teach you all things, and bring to your remembrance all that I said unto you" What is the primary responsibility of the Holy Spirit? To represent Jehoshua and remind the church all things that He said unto His disciples. How is it then that there are churches and Christians that teach we don't have to obey the teachings of the Son of God and that Paul is the one whose doctrine we follow? The proof that you are being taught and led by the holy Spirit is that Jehoshua's teachings are being brought to your remembrance and is giving you a strong desire to keep them. If this is not the case then you are being led by a spirit of error which is the spirit of antichrist. John 15:3 " Already ye are clean because of the word which I have spoken unto you" Jehoshua's words cleanse us. His doctrine is His word. If you do not obey the teachings of the Son of God then you are unclean. John 15:6-7 6 If a man abide not in me, he is cast forth as a branch, and is withered; and they gather them, and cast them into the fire, and they are burned. 7 If ye abide in me, and my words abide in you, ask whatsoever ye will, and it shall be done unto you. How do we abide in the Messiah to avoid being cast into the lake of fire? We let His words (commandments) abide in us. This is not just listening to His words but actually doing them as Jehoshua says those who only listen but don't keep the sayings of His are fools. When we keep the words of Jehoshua we then can confidently go before the Father and ask anything in Jehoshua's name. John 15:9-10 9 Even as the Father hath loved me, I also have loved you: abide ye in my love. 10 If ye keep my commandments, ye shall abide in my love; even as I have kept my Father`s commandments, and abide in his love. How do we abide in the love of the Son of God? Jehoshua gives us the plain answer, we keep His commandments. Jehoshua actually says that to abide in His love is conditional and the condition is that we keep His commandments. You sure don't hear this in Church do you? John 14:12-14 12 This is my commandment, that ye love one another, even as I have loved you.13 Greater love hath no man than this, that a man lay down his life for his friends.14 Ye are my friends, if ye do the things which I command you. Many use verse 12 to say that the only commandment given by Jehoshua is that we are to love each other, however they fail to realize that this is not just an abstract commandment but the Son of God actually gave specific instructions on how to carry this love out in a real life way. In fact, these lukewarm Christians that want to get out of any hard teachings of the Son of God even fail at this commandment in face value. What kind of love does Jehoshua command us to have for one another? The type of love that Jehoshua displayed which is a love that is willing to lay down it's life for it's friends. It is a self denying sacrificial love that esteems others higher than itself. It is not a sunday church type of love where you smile at people and speak Christianese and then go on about the rest of your week barely even thinking about the person. Jehoshua calls us His friends however this also is conditional and the condition is if we keep His commandments. John 15:17 "These things I command you, that ye may love one another." Again, this is not a churchy type of love but a love that passes all understanding even willing to lay down your life for your friends. John 15:20 "Remember the word that I said unto you, A servant is not greater than his lord. If they persecuted me, they will also persecute you; if they kept my word, they will keep yours also." One of the most important words that Jehoshua spoke to us was that we are not above Him and we will be persecuted if we are keeping His commandments those who keep the words of Messiah will also keep the words of the apostles and our words as well if we keep the commandments of the Son of God. John 15;22-23 22 If I had not come and spoken unto them, they had not had sin: but now they have no excuse for their sin. 23 He that hateth me hateth my Father also. Christians particularly have no excuse for not obeying the teachings of Jehoshua as they have heard His word through the reading of scripture. Remember, the proof that we love Jehoshua is in the keeping of His commandments. That is also what our love for God and His children is based on, keeping His commandments (1 John 5:2-3). So when Jehoshua says that those who hate Him hate His Father also then He speaking of those who don't keep His and His Father's commandments. John 15:26 "But when the Comforter is come, whom I will send unto you from the Father, [even] the Spirit of truth, which proceedeth from the Father, he shall bear witness of me" Again, the function of the holy spirit is to bear witness of the Son of God. This bearing witness includes bringing to remembrance the teachings of Jehoshua. Anyone who says they have the holy Spirit but does not speak of the teachings of the Son of God is a liar and being led by the spirit of error which is the antichrist spirit. This implicates many today in the Church who say that you don't actually have to keep the Messiah's commandments. John 16:33 "These things have I spoken unto you, that in me ye may have peace. In the world ye have tribulation: but be of good cheer; I have overcome the world." Everything that Jehoshua spoke to His disciples and others were for our peace. If we follow them we will overcome the world. Part 1 of my Psalm chapter 2 study
Psalm Chapter 2 1 Why do the nations rage, And the peoples meditate a vain thing? 2 The kings of the earth set themselves, And the rulers take counsel together, Against Jehovah, and against his anointed, [saying], 3 Let us break their bonds asunder, And cast away their cords from us.4 He that sitteth in the heavens will laugh: The Lord will have them in derision. 5 Then will he speak unto them in his wrath, And vex them in his sore displeasure: 6 Yet I have set my king Upon my holy hill of Zion. 7 I will tell of the decree: Jehovah said unto me, Thou art my son; This day have I begotten thee. 8 Ask of me, and I will give [thee] the nations for thine inheritance, And the uttermost parts of the earth for thy possession. 9 Thou shalt break them with a rod of iron; Thou shalt dash them in pieces like a potter`s vessel. 10 Now therefore be wise, O ye kings: Be instructed, ye judges of the earth.11 Serve Jehovah with fear, And rejoice with trembling. 12 Kiss the son, lest he be angry, and ye perish in the way, For his wrath will soon be kindled. Blessed are all they that take refuge in him. What's great about this passage in the book of Psalms is that you can actually preach a summary of the whole gospel using this chapter. Each verse corresponds with either the life, death, resurrection and ascension, and second advent of Jehoshua. Let's look at this chapter and see how it corresponds with the gospel of Jehoshua Messiah, theSon of God. Verses 1 and 2, we know this applies to the persecution the Messiah underwent at the hands of Herod representing the Jews and Pontius Pliate representing the Gentiles. This is Davidic Pslam which in it's immediate context is about David. It also can apply to any Davidic King who goes through similar trials. It is completely fulfilled in Jehoshua. It's noteworthy that David is referred to as the Messiah of Jehovah God. This shows that the Davidic kings were Messiah's of Jehovah. This shows that the title of Messiah (Christ) does not imply deity. It's a title primarily referring to the Davidic King. Acts 4:23-28 23And being let go, they came to their own company, and reported all that the chief priests and the elders had said unto them.24And they, when they heard it, lifted up their voice to God with one accord, and said, O Lord, thou that didst make the heaven and the earth and the sea, and all that in them is:25who by the Holy Spirit, [by] the mouth of our father David thy servant, didst say, Why did the Gentiles rage, And the peoples imagine vain things?26The kings of the earth set themselves in array, And the rulers were gathered together, Against the Lord, and against his Anointed:27for of a truth in this city against thy holy Servant Jesus, whom thou didst anoint, both Herod and Pontius Pilate, with the Gentiles and the peoples of Israel, were gathered together,28to do whatsoever thy hand and thy council foreordained to come to pass. In context, this passage is about Peter and John going into the temple and healing an impotent man and then subsequently preaching the gospel of the Kingdom to their countrymen and preaching the resurrection of the dead of whom Jehoshua is the firstfruits. The rulers, elders and scribes of Israel along with the high priest and his family threatened the apostles not to speak in the name of Jehoshua Messiah. The apostles stood firm in their resolve and said they will obey God rather than man. Peter and John then went back to the congregation and reported what took place and their response was to praise Jehovah God acknowledging Him as the maker of heaven and earth and the sea and all that in them is. This is a clear reference to the 4th commandment which is the Sabbath. It's noteworthy that the early believers closely identified God with His creation of which the Sabbath day is a memorial as the Sabbath commandment contains creation language. The congregation then quotes Psalm 2:1-2 applying David as the author and prophet of it. They attribute the events of Psalm 1:1-2 leading up to and including Jehoshua's death. This includes the betrayal plot as the chief priests, scribes and pharisees and high priest assembled together how they might kill Jehoshua (Matthew 26:3). Matthew 26:59-68 59 Now the chief priests and the whole council sought false witness against Jesus, that they might put him to death;60 and they found it not, though many false witnesses came. But afterward came two,61 and said, This man said, I am able to destroy the temple of God, and to build it in three days.62 And the high priest stood up, and said unto him, Answerest thou nothing? what is it which these witness against thee?63 But Jesus held his peace. And the high priest said unto him, I adjure thee by the living God, that thou tell us whether thou art the Christ, the Son of God.64 Jesus said unto him, Thou hast said: nevertheless I say unto you, Henceforth ye shall see the Son of man sitting at the right hand of Power, and coming on the clouds of heaven.65 Then the high priest rent his garments, saying, He hath spoken blasphemy: what further need have we of witnesses? behold, now ye have heard the blasphemy:66 what think ye? They answered and said, He is worthy of death.67 Then did they spit in his face and buffet him: and some smote him with the palms of their hands,68 saying, Prophesy unto us, thou Christ: who is he that struck thee? This passage is a perfect example of Psalm 2:1-2, Jehoshua has been arrested having been betrayed by Judas and now appears before the Caiaphas the high priest and the scribes and elders. The sanhedrin fails to produce a reliable witness against Jehoshua, the Son of God. The trial comes down to one question by the high priest as he asks Jehoshua if He is the Messiah and Son of the living God. Jehoshua answers him in the affirmative and then really hits the high priest between the eyes by stating that He is the prophesied Davidic King of Daniel 7:13-14 and Psalm 110:1. "Henceforth ye shall see the Son of man sitting at the right hand of Power, and coming on the clouds of heaven" This statement by Jehoshua refers to His Kingship, both His enthronement at His ascension and His second advent when He will appear in the sky in the clouds of heaven and be seen by all those who have been resurrected at the sounding of His voice: Revelation 1:7 "Behold, he cometh with clouds; and every eye shall see him, and they also which pierced him: and all kindreds of the earth shall wail because of him. Even so, Amen." This statement was enough to cause the high priest to rent his clothes and lay a blasphemy charge against Jehoshua. The passage ends with the cohorts of the high priest striking Jehoshua and mocking Him by telling Him to "prophesy thou Messiah". Matthew 27:1-2 1When the morning was come, all the chief priests and elders of the people took counsel against Jehoshua to put him to death:2And when they had bound him, they led him away, and delivered him to Pontius Pilate the governor. A perfect example of the fulfillment of Psalm 2:1-3 where the rulers of Israel take counsel against Jehovah's Messiah. They worked in covenant with Pontius Pilate. This was the first example in the last days of the great whore i.e. false religion (Jerusalem) riding the political anti-Messiah beast (the Roman empire). Matthew 27:11-50 details Jehoshua's two trials before Pilate. The first question Pilate asked Jehoshua was whether or not He was King of the Jews, Jehoshua affirmed that He was. The chief priests and elders brought accusations against Jehoshua before Pilate showing that the rulers of Israel and Rome were consorting together to put the Son of God to death. The account in Matthew goes on to show that the Jews would rather have Barabbas released than Jehoshua and also the cowardice of Pilate ignoring his conscience that indeed Jehoshua was a just man. While the Jews get the brunt of the blame for having Jehoshua killed, Pilate was no better as he showed himself to be a coward in this situation and is just as guilty as the rulers of Israel for the death of the Son of God. Pilate's soldiers mock Jehoshua's Kingship claims by putting a robe on Him and a crown of thorns. The rulers of the earth taking counsel against Jehovah's anointed was with the purpose of denying His royalty and His right to the throne of Israel. The accusation against Jehoshua was His claim that He wad King of the Jews (Matthew 27:37). In fact that is what some of the onlookers threw in Jehoshua's face while He hung on the cross (verses 40-43): Matthew 27:42 "He saved others; himself he cannot save. If he be the King of Israel, let him now come down from the cross, and we will believe him." Yet despite the mockings of the on lookers, including the chief priests, elders and scribes (verse 41), a Roman centurion at the moment of Jehoshua's death professed faith in the Sonship (Kingship) of Jehoshua: Matthew 27:54 "Now when the centurion, and they that were with him, watching Jesus, saw the earthquake, and those things that were done, they feared greatly, saying, Truly this was the Son of God." Remember that the title "Son of God" is eqaul to being the King of Israel per the Davidic covenant (2 Sam 7:8-16). The book of Luke details Jehoshua's appearance before Herod whom the apostolic congregation identified as being a fulfillment of Psalm 2:1-3. Luke 23:6-12 6 When Pilate heard of Galilee, he asked whether the man were a Galilaean.7 And as soon as he knew that he belonged unto Herod’s jurisdiction, he sent him to Herod, who himself also was at Jerusalem at that time.8 And when Herod saw Jesus, he was exceeding glad: for he was desirous to see him of a long season, because he had heard many things of him; and he hoped to have seen some miracle done by him.9 Then he questioned with him in many words; but he answered him nothing.10 And the chief priests and scribes stood and vehemently accused him.11 And Herod with his men of war set him at nought, and mocked him, and arrayed him in a gorgeous robe, and sent him again to Pilate.12 And the same day Pilate and Herod were made friends together: for before they were at enmity between themselves. Here is what the church was referring to in Acts 3 by quoting Psalm 2:1-3 and applying to Herod and Pontius Pilate. Former somewhat enemies now became friends over the Jehoshua situation taking counsel together against the King of Israel. Herod and his ment at war mocked Jehoshua by putting Him in a long robe and sending Him back to Pilate. While the Jews were the ones accusing Jehoshua and instigating His trial and eventual death sentence, Pilate was no better as he went along with process for political reasons. Acts 3:12-15 12And when Peter saw it, he answered unto the people, Ye men of Israel, why marvel ye at this man? or why fasten ye your eyes on us, as though by our own power or godliness we had made him to walk?13The God of Abraham, and of Isaac, and of Jacob, the God of our fathers, hath glorified his Servant Jehoshua; whom ye delivered up, and denied before the face of Pilate, when he had determined to release him.14 But ye denied the Holy and Righteous One, and asked for a murderer to be granted unto you,15 and killed the Prince of life; whom God raised from the dead; whereof we are witnesses. Peter acknowledges that Jehoshua is the servant of the God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob showing that the apostles identified God as someone other than Jehoshua. The apostles identified Jehoshua as God's servant just as Isaiah the prophet said he would be.(Isaiah 42:1). So we have God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob who is Jehovah and we have His anointed servant who is Jehoshua. Two beings whose rulership is being rejected by the rulers of this earth. Peter confirms that it was the leaders of Israel along with some of the regular citizens of Israel that delivered up Jehoshua to Pilate and subsequently denying Him. So again we see the Jews working together with the Romans to conspire against Jehovah and His Messianic King. The religous establisment in Israel denied Jehoshua even when Pilate was set on releasing him. This is a type of the false prophet (Jerusalem, Israel's state religion) joining up with the State beast (the Roman empire) i.e. Babylon. So now that we have looked at the first few verses of Psalm 2 and matched them up with Jehoshua's life let's go to the next few verses. Psalm 2:4-6 4 He that sitteth in the heavens will laugh: The Lord will have them in derision. 5 Then will he speak unto them in his wrath, And vex them in his sore displeasure: 6 Yet I have set my king Upon my holy hill of Zion. Despite the rulers of this earth plotting against Jehovah and His Messiah, He (Jehovah) is in His heavenly sanctuary laughing at their futile plans. He has them in derision (confusion). Babylon comes from the word "babel" and means confusion. The great whore i.e. the false prophet (Jerusalem and the Israelite religion) rode on the back of the antimessiah beast (The Roman empire) forming Babylon the great. Ultimately, both Jerusalem and Rome would be throne into confusion even to the point of the Roman army putting Jerusalem under siege and destroying their temple in A.D. 70. Regardless of the plans of the religious establishment of Israel and the Roman governor and army Jehovah still accomplished His will in setting up Jehoshua as the King of Israel. The holy hill of Zion refers to the heavenly Zion which is where Jehoshua was enthroned as the King of Israel. After Jehoshua was crucified on the cross, the Jews and Romans thought they had conquered the Son of God however Jehovah declared Jehoshua to be the Son of God with power by resurrecting Him from the dead: Romans 1:1-4 1Paul, a servant of Jehoshua Messiah, called [to be] an apostle, separated unto the gospel of God,2which he promised afore through his prophets in the holy scriptures,3concerning his Son, who was born of the seed of David according to the flesh,4who was declared to be the Son of God with power, according to the spirit of holiness, by the resurrection from the dead; even Jehoshua Messiah our Lord. The resurrection of Jehoshua was His vindication that His claim to be the Son of God and King of Israel was true. Jehovah God raised up Jehoshua from the dead by the Spirit of holiness. Subsequent to His resurrection Jehoshua ascended to heaven and was enthroned on the throne of David: Hebrews 1:8-9 8 but of the Son he saith, Thy throne, O God, is for ever and ever; And the sceptre of uprightness is the sceptre of thy kingdom.9 Thou hast loved righteousness, and hated iniquity; Therefore God, thy God, hath anointed thee With the oil of gladness above thy fellows. This is a Davidic Kingship coronation hymm and this was pronounced by Jehovah God to His Son Jehoshua in connection with His ascension into heaven. This passage without controversy shows that Jehoshua was installed as the King of Israel upon His ascension into heaven. Just as the earthly Davidic kings were coronated in earthly Zion (Jerusalem), the heavenly Davidic King was installed as the King of Israel in heavenly Zion New Jerusalem which is the city of the living God: Hebrews 12:22-24 22 but ye are come unto mount Zion, and unto the city of the living God, the heavenly Jerusalem, and to innumerable hosts of angels, 23 to the general assembly and church of the firstborn who are enrolled in heaven, and to God the Judge of all, and to the spirits of just men made perfect, 24 and to Jesus the mediator of a new covenant, and to the blood of sprinkling that speaketh better than [that of] Abel. Many American Christians mistakenly think that Jehoshua will not sit on the throne of David in earhtly Jerusalem until after His second advent, thereby ushering in a 1,000 year millennium. This idea is clearly refuted by Hebrews 1:8-9 and also the passage above in Hebrews 12 which cleary says the Zion of New covenant believers is not the earthly one but rather the heavenly one which is New Jerusalem, the city of the living God. As verse 23 states the church of the first begotten Son Jehoshua is Headqaurtered in heaven where there are a inumerable company of angels and where the roll call of the saints is. This is why Paul says our citizenship is in heaven (Phillipians 3:20). This is the Zion that Psalm 2:6 refers to in reference to Jehoshua being set as King on Zion's hill. This is why both the author of Hebrews and Paul the apostle exhort believers not to look to earthly Jerusalem but rather the heavenly one (Hebrews 13:13-14) and (Galatians 4:25-26). Even in the book of Psalms it was prophesied that the throne of David would be a heavenly witness before Jehovah God: Psalm 89;34-37 34 My covenant will I not break, Nor alter the thing that is gone out of my lips. 35 Once have I sworn by my holiness: I will not lie unto David:36 His seed shall endure for ever, And his throne as the sun before me. 37 It shall be established for ever as the moon, And [as] the faithful witness in the sky. Psalm 89 is a commentary on the Davidic covenant and here Jehovah's promise to David is reiterated in that the covenant will be eternally established. David's seed will endure forever and his throne will be established forever as the moon, a faithful witness in the sky. Acts 2 and Acts 13 and Hebrews 1 prove emphatically that this took place at Jehoshua's ascension into heaven. The throne of David in New Jerusalem is a heavenly witness that Jehovah God kept His oath to David. The first sermon after the ascension of the Son of God into heaven was about Him fulfilling the Davidic covenant and be installed as the King of Israel. Acts 2:30-31 30 Being therefore a prophet, and knowing that God had sworn with an oath to him, that of the fruit of his loins he would set [one] upon his throne; 31 he foreseeing [this] spake of the resurrection of the Christ, that neither was he left unto Hades, nor did his flesh see corruption. Peter clearly says that David prophesied that the covenant Jehovah made with Him would be fulfilled at the promised Messiah's resurrection. The oath God made with David was that one of David's descendants would be raised to up to sit on his (David's) throne and establish it forever. Peter confirms that it was the resurrection of the Messiah that fulfilled the Davidic covenant in that one of the fruit of David's loins would be raised up to sit on his throne. This destroys the idea that the Son of God will not sit on the throne of David until after the second advent in earthly Jerusalem. In Acts 13 Paul confirms that it was the resurrection of the Messiah that fulfilled the Davidic covenant. Acts 2:34-35 34 For David ascended not into the heavens: but he saith himself, Jehovah said unto my Lord, Sit thou on my right hand, 35 Till I make thine enemies the footstool of thy feet Peter quotes the most often alluded to old testament text in the new testament Psalm 110:1. This is a prophetic text where David prophesies of the covenant God made with him being fulfilled as he sees his offspring being installed as the King of Israel. This is within the context of the resurrection of the Messiah again showing that in the new covenant the throne of David is in heaven in New Jerusalem not the old earthly one. Acts 13:33-34 33 that God hath fulfilled the same unto our children, in that he raised up Jesus; as also it is written in the second psalm, Thou art my Son, this day have I begotten thee. 34 And as concerning that he raised him up from the dead, now no more to return to corruption, he hath spoken on this wise, I will give you the holy and sure [blessings] of David. Paul speaks of two events here as in the context of his sermon to his countrymen the raising up of God's anointed one takes place when the anointed one is publicly brought onto the scene of Israel. We know for Jehoshua this took place at His baptism. And at Jehoshua's baptism was quoted by the Father the Psalm 2:7 coronation hymm proving that Jehoshua's baptism was His anointing as King of Israel. It is notable that Nathanael confessed that Jehoshua was the Son of God and King of Israel just two days after His baptism (John 1:49). In verse 34 Paul now goes to the raising up of Jehoshua by resurrection from the dead and says by virtue of the resurrection that Jehoshua has now received the sure mercies of David. What are the sure mercies of David? Isaiah 55 tells us: 3 Incline your ear, and come unto me: hear, and your soul shall live; and I will make an everlasting covenant with you, even the sure mercies of David.4 Behold, I have given him for a witness to the people, a leader and commander to the people. The sure mercies of David are the fulfillment of the everlasting covenant that Jehovah made with him. The fulfillment of that covenant is the raising up of the seed of David to the throne establishing the Davidic Kingdom forever. The Davidic King is the leader and commander of Israel. Just like Peter & the author of Hebrews, Paul connects the resurrection & ascension of Jehoshua with the fulfillment of the Davidic covenant which is the establishment of the prophesied Messiah on the throne of David. This again is another proof that Jehoshua was set on the throne of David at His ascension into heaven rather than in a future earthly millennium. Psalm 2:7 "I will tell of the decree: Jehovah said unto me, Thou art my son; This day have I begotten thee." This is a coronation hymm of an Israelite King as stated above. When a Davidic king was either anointed or enthroned He entered into a Father-Son covenant relationship with Jehovah God. The begetting mentioned in this passage is not speaking of literal birth but rather is a declaration of pedigrees that the Son of David is both God's covenant Son and anointed King. The begetting mentioned above also is a anointing by the Spirit of Jehovah into the office of King, a spiritual birth from above into Kingship. The Davidic seed's anointing by the holy Spirit into Kingship is His begetting (adoption) as God's Son. Older manucscripts have Psalm 2:7 as being said by the Father at Jehoshua's baptism in Matthew 3:16-17 and Luke 3:22. It was at tjis event that Jehoshua was anointed as the King of Israel and begotten as Jehovah's Son. Again, as mentioned earlier Nathanael confessed that Jehoshua was the Son of God and King of Israel two days after His baptism. Even though Jehoshua did not sit on the throne of David until His ascension into heaven He was the rightful King of Israel from the time He was baptized. This parallels David's experience as he was anointed as the King of Israel long before he sat on the actual throne. David like Jehoshua had to go through a time of trial and testing before he was enthroned yet even during this period he was considered the legitimate King by Jehovah God. This is why we see all throughout Jehoshua's ministry that He is repeatedly referred to as the King of Israel or King of the Jews and the Son of God as His anointing by the holy Spirit inaugurated both His Sonship and Kingship. The title "Son of God" is actually a title belonging to the King of Israel. When we read verse 6 and 7 together it is obvious that the begetting of the Son of God in verse 7 is connected with His being installed as King on Zion's hill. The throne of David and the Sonship of the Messiah are inherently connected as we see both in the old and new testaments. 1 Chronicles 28:5-7 5 And of all my sons (for Jehovah hath given me many sons), he hath chosen Solomon my son to sit upon the throne of the kingdom of Jehovah over Israel.6And he said unto me, Solomon thy son, he shall build my house and my courts; for I have chosen him to be my son, and I will be his father.7And I will establish his kingdom for ever, if he be constant to do my commandments and mine ordinances, as at this day. We see here that Jehovah chose Solomon to sit on the throne of Jehovah i.e. the throne of David and then in the very next verse we read that Jehovah chose Solomon to be His son and subsequently that Jehovah will establish Solomon's Kingdom forever. So the throne of David and the Sonship of David's royal seed and establishment of the Kingdom are intertwined and connected. To be chosen to sit on the throne of David is at the same time to be chosen(begotten) as God's Son. The promise is that if the Davidic King would keep the commandments of God His Kingdom would be established forever. The establishment of an eternal Kingdom of course was ultimately fulfilled in Jehoshua. |
