Hebrews Chapter 9 1Then verily the first covenant had also ordinances of divine service, and a worldly sanctuary.2For there was a tabernacle made; the first, wherein was the candlestick, and the table, and the shewbread; which is called the sanctuary.3And after the second veil, the tabernacle which is called the Holiest of all;4Which had the golden censer, and the ark of the covenant overlaid round about with gold, wherein was the golden pot that had manna, and Aaron’s rod that budded, and the tables of the covenant;5And over it the cherubims of glory shadowing the mercyseat; of which we cannot now speak particularly.6Now when these things were thus ordained, the priests went always into the first tabernacle, accomplishing the service of God.7But into the second went the high priest alone once every year, not without blood, which he offered for himself, and for the errors of the people:8The Holy Ghost this signifying, that the way into the holiest of all was not yet made manifest, while as the first tabernacle was yet standing:9Which was a figure for the time then present, in which were offered both gifts and sacrifices, that could not make him that did the service perfect, as pertaining to the conscience;10Which stood only in meats and drinks, and divers washings, and carnal ordinances, imposed on them until the time of reformation.11But Christ being come an high priest of good things to come, by a greater and more perfect tabernacle, not made with hands, that is to say, not of this building;12Neither by the blood of goats and calves, but by his own blood he entered in once into the holy place, having obtained eternal redemption for us.13For if the blood of bulls and of goats, and the ashes of an heifer sprinkling the unclean, sanctifieth to the purifying of the flesh:14How much more shall the blood of Christ, who through the eternal Spirit offered himself without spot to God, purge your conscience from dead works to serve the living God?15And for this cause he is the mediator of the new testament, that by means of death, for the redemption of the transgressions that were under the first testament, they which are called might receive the promise of eternal inheritance.16For where a testament is, there must also of necessity be the death of the testator.17For a testament is of force after men are dead: otherwise it is of no strength at all while the testator liveth.18Whereupon neither the first testament was dedicated without blood.19For when Moses had spoken every precept to all the people according to the law, he took the blood of calves and of goats, with water, and scarlet wool, and hyssop, and sprinkled both the book, and all the people,20Saying, This is the blood of the testament which God hath enjoined unto you.21Moreover he sprinkled with blood both the tabernacle, and all the vessels of the ministry.22And almost all things are by the law purged with blood; and without shedding of blood is no remission.23It was therefore necessary that the patterns of things in the heavens should be purified with these; but the heavenly things themselves with better sacrifices than these.24For Christ is not entered into the holy places made with hands, which are the figures of the true; but into heaven itself, now to appear in the presence of God for us:25Nor yet that he should offer himself often, as the high priest entereth into the holy place every year with blood of others;26For then must he often have suffered since the foundation of the world: but now once in the end of the world hath he appeared to put away sin by the sacrifice of himself.27And as it is appointed unto men once to die, but after this the judgment:28So Christ was once offered to bear the sins of many; and unto them that look for him shall he appear the second time without sin unto salvation. Verses 1-7, this section describes various parts of the old covenant ministry of the priests in the tabernacle. Jehoshua's ministry is better. It's important to understand that there is a marked difference between the Levitical priesthood and the Melchizedek Priesthood. In these first seven verses of Hebrews 9 we see a description of the sanctuary. Paul uses the term tabernacle rather than temple possibly due to the wilderness theme throughout the book of Hebrews. The tabernacle and temple kept the same basic design. The outer sanctuary was accesible only to the levites, and the inner sanctuary to the High Priest once a year on the day of atonement. The first sanctuary or holy place in the tabernacle had the candlestick, table of shewbread and altar of incense. These articles of furniture had/have typological significance pointing to the person and work of Messiah. In verse 3, the second veil is referenced. There were two curtains in the tabernacle, one separating the court from the holy place and the second, the holy place from the most holy place (Exodus 26:31-35). Tabernacle, Holy of Holies (Holiest of all). This is key to remember because it tells us when Jehoshua went into the most holy place. Verse 4, the most important piece of furniture in the tabernacle is the ark of the covenant. The ark contains the mercyseat where the blood of the atonement was sprinkled once a year (Exodus 25:10-16). Jehoshua as the first fruits had to present Himself to the Father after His resurrection. If the Father's throne is in the most holy place as the sanctuary tells us, both in earthly type and in the original in heaven, then Messiah had to go to the most holy place to present Himself. The bible says He atoned for our sins at the cross and He presented Himself after His resurrection to the Father sprinkling His blood on the mercyseat. This could only be done if Jehoshua went to the most holy place after His resurrection. 1John 2:1-2 (KJV) 1My little children, these things write I unto you, that ye sin not. And if any man sin, we have an advocate with the Father, Jesus Christ the righteous:2And he is the propitiation for our sins: and not for ours only, but also for the sins of the whole world. The word propitiation comes from the Greek word "hilasmos" (Strongs 2434) and means "atonement, i.e., an expiator, propitiation." Continuing in verse 4, The manna that was in the ark of the covenant represents Jehovah's faithfulness and provision for His people. As the Israelites of old, we as Messianics are in our own wilderness experience as pilgrims waiting for the arrival of our permanent home which is New Jerusalem. Jehoshua is also the manna, the bread of life that came down from heaven. We eat of His body spiritually as He even said so in John 6:51-54: 51I am the living bread which came down from heaven: if any man eat of this bread, he shall live for ever: and the bread that I will give is my flesh, which I will give for the life of the world 52The Jews therefore strove among themselves, saying, How can this man give us his flesh to eat? 53Then Jesus said unto them, Verily, verily, I say unto you, Except ye eat the flesh of the Son of man, and drink his blood, ye have no life in you. 54Whoso eateth my flesh, and drinketh my blood, hath eternal life; and I will raise him up at the last day. In verse 4 we also see Aaron's rod mentioned. This represented Aaron's as the designated chosen head of the priestly line. Jehoshua is now our High Priest after the order of Melchizedek. The Levitical priesthood is abolished. The tables of the covenant are in the most holy place and they contain the 10 commandments. As the 10 commandments were in the most holy place in the earthly sanctuary, they are also in the heavenly sanctuary which is the sanctuary that Jehovah pitched. Revelation 11:16-19 (KJV) 16And the four and twenty elders, which sat before God on their seats, fell upon their faces, and worshipped God,17Saying, We give thee thanks, O Lord God Almighty, which art, and wast, and art to come; because thou hast taken to thee thy great power, and hast reigned.18And the nations were angry, and thy wrath is come, and the time of the dead, that they should be judged, and that thou shouldest give reward unto thy servants the prophets, and to the saints, and them that fear thy name, small and great; and shouldest destroy them which destroy the earth.19And the temple of God was opened in heaven, and there was seen in his temple the ark of his testament: and there were lightnings, and voices, and thunderings, and an earthquake, and great hail. Understanding he truth about the heavenly sanctuary is very important for today's beleiver in Messiah. The above pasaage in Revelation 11 reveals that there is a literal heavenly temple with a literal ark of the covenant containing the testimony i.e. 10 commandments. It's also key to recognize the importance of the the Messiah's priestly ministry. The Son of God sits at the right hand of Jehovah in the most holy place interceding for us. We are told by the beloved disciple John in his 1st epistle to not sin but that if we do we have Jehoshua as our advocate. The word advocate comes from the Greek word "parakletos" which means "an intercessor, consoler: advocate, comforter" It's noteworthy that the 10 commandments are also in the most holy place of the heavenly sanctuary where the Son of God intercedes for us as we are told in 1 John chapter 3 that sin is the transgression of the law: 4Whosoever committeth sin transgresseth also the law: for sin is the transgression of the law.5And ye know that he was manifested to take away our sins; and in him is no sin.6Whosoever abideth in him sinneth not: whosoever sinneth hath not seen him, neither known him. Sin is the transgression of the law and we are told to sin not, yet if we do sin we have a comforter who intercedes for us. This passage refutes the antinomian churches that the law of Jehovah is abolished. In verse 6 where it says "whoever sinneth hath not seen him", this is in the greek present tense meaning continuing in constant sin without repentance. We are told to boldly come before the throne of grace. The throne of grace is the mercyseat where our Messiah intercedes for us. When we fall into temptation we must come to the Father in the name of the Son and ask forgiveness. This is a function of the Son of God as our High Priest to ask forgiveness when we transgress the law. John encourages beleivers to not sin but he also lets them know that if they do, Messiah will intercede for them provided they come to the throne of grace. 1 John 5:2-3 (KJV) 2By this we know that we love the children of God, when we love God, and keep his commandments.3For this is the love of God, that we keep his commandments: and his commandments are not grievous. It is ridiculous to say that God's law is done away with when we are told by John to keep the commandments and also encouraged not to violate them which is sin. This is why the commandments are so prominent in the book of Revelation as it relates to the heavenly temple and priesthood of Messiah and the end time importance of all these things. Verse 5 of Hebrews 9, the cherubims of glory. Jehovah's glory rested over these angelic beings symbolizing God's dwelling among His people. Mercyseat. The covering of the ark of the covenant where blood was sprinkled. The mercyseat represented the way of access to Jehovah, and God's forgiveness of His people. Verse 6, priests would enter into the holy place (first tabernacle) daily. These priests were faithful in their daily ministrations. Verse 7, the second, the holy of holies. Once every year. Day of atonement. The High Priest had to offer blood for himself and the sins of the people. Verse 8, the Holy Spirit declared the rituals to show that the earthly tabernacle was just a type or picture of true salvation. The way into the holiest of all was not yet made manifest. The tabernacle and priestly ordinances were not able to give perfect access to God in the Holy of Holies. The tabernacle veiled people from unbroken communion with God. Verse 8 makes no sense if the Messiah only went to the holy place at His ascension. While the first tabernacle was standing, the way into the most holy place wasn't made manifest meaning "revealed". This infers that the way into the Holy of Holies has now been revealed now that the first tabernacle and it's services are now obselete. Matthew 23:38 (KJV) 38Behold, your house is left unto you desolate. Matthew 27:51 (KJV) 51And, behold, the veil of the temple was rent in twain from the top to the bottom; and the earth did quake, and the rocks rent; Acts 17:24 (KJV) 24God that made the world and all things therein, seeing that he is Lord of heaven and earth, dwelleth not in temples made with hands; So if the way into the Holy of Holies was made manifest in the new covenant as declared by the Holy Spirit, then clearly Jehoshua had to go right to the most holy place at His ascension showing us the way into the most holy place. If He had to wait until 1844, then verse 8 makes no sense and believers all the way up to 1844 had not been revealed the way into the holiest and didn't have direct access to the throne of grace which is in the Holy of Holies. This would then mean they were still in the old covenant until 1844 as they and the Messiah only had access to the first tabernacle. Back to Hebrews 9, verse 9, the tabernacle is a comparison of the heavenly tabernacle. The sacrifices of priests could not cleanse the conscience but were merely an outward cleansing. Verse 10, Jehoshua was the original reformer. The whole old testament system was unable to bring the people to perfection. It served only a temporary function, and pointed forward to a time when great change and renewal (reformation) would be administered. One of the things that makes Jehoshua a reformer is that He through His death abolished the imperfect Levitical priesthood and became our High Priest of a much better order. One of the key factors of Jehoshua's priesthood being better and being a complete reformation from the old order, is that He doesn't have to follow the Levitical protocol. As Priest of the Melchizedek order, Messiah went right to the most holy place at His ascension and conducts His priesthood from His throne sitting down. The Levitical priests could only go to the most holy place once a year after conducting their daily service in the holy place standing up. The Levitical priesthood did not grant the people direct access to Jehovah God except once a year on the day of atonement. If the Son of God had to wait until 1844 to go to the most holy place, then there really was no reformation done by Jehoshua at the cross and in effect the saints before 1844 were in the same predicament as the Israelites of old. This means they would have had no access to God the Father until 1844. Clearly, God the Father's throne is in the most holy place as represented in the earthly sanctuary which is a copy of the true heavenly one. If Messiah at His ascension went to sit at the Father's right hand, then we can be assured that He went right to the throne room which is clearly in the most holy place. Verses 11-12, a comparison between the ceremonial aspects of the old covenant and Messiah's works, described in Levitical terms. "good things to come", likely to be understood in both the present time and a future time. "by a greater and more perfect tabernacle" Jehoshua entered the heavenly sanctuary (Hebrews 7:26;8:2) to bring His people into the presence of God. This could only be true if the Son of God went directly to the most holy place at His ascension. Remember that Jehovah's shekinah presence in the earthly sanctuary was in the most holy place above the mercy seat. The same is true in the true heavenly sanctuary. "Eternal redemption" and "once into the holy place" - unlike the Levitical High Priest that entered the holy place every year to cover the sins of Israel, Jehoshua entered the holy place through His death only once yo offer everlasting atonement. The Son of God's sacrifice only needed to be offered once, not continually or daily. This is why it makes no sense for the Messiah to have to wait until 1844 to go into the most holy place. If He only went to the holy place to emaulate the old covenant protocol of daily ministration in the first apartment then in effect thatbis saying that the Son of God didn't obtain eternal redemption for us thereby nullfying His sacrifice on the cross. This is the very thing that seperates the Levitical High Priest from the Melchizedek High Priest. One had to do daily ministry in the holy place standing up with the blood of calves and goats and only had access to the most holy place once a year. The other went directly to the most holy place making atonement with His very own blood and conducts His priesthood from His throne as a King-Priest. By reducing the Messiah's priesthood to a replica of the Levitical priesthood we are disresepecting His finished work at the cross. Because in effect we are saying His blood wasn't enough to make atonement for sins and thereby reducing the value of His blood to that of goats and calves. "For us" Jehoshua's death was for His people, that is, for their benefit and in their place. Verses 13-14, the author of Hebrews lays out the implications of Jehoshua's sacrifice for beleivers. The priestly sacrifices cleansed only the flesh. The Messiah's death (blood) cleanses (purge) the conscience, laden with guilt of sins as it is. By virtue of Messiah's divine nature (eternal Spirit), His sacrifice was a spiritual sacrifice and is therefore effective. The Son of God was the perfect (without spot) Lamb of sacrifice. The Messiah had the fullness of the Father's eternal Spirit in Him. "Dead works". Any works we might seek to perform to gain acceptance with God are defiled by sin like a dead body. Through Jehoshua's sacrifice, beleivers are able to offer themselves as living sacrifices and thus enabled to serve the living God. This verse proves that the living God is the Father not a trinity. Jehoshua through the Holy Spirit purged our conscience from dead works to serve the Living God. This shows that neither Jehoshua or the Holy Spirit are the living God themselves but that through Jehoshua's death, they both worked to bring us in right relationship with the the remaining member of the Godhead which is the Father i.e. the Living God. Verse 15, the Son of God perfects the mediation between Jehovah and His people. "And for this cause" Jehoshua's work shows Him to be the mediator of the new covenant. "For the redemption of the transgressions" that is, all sins past and present committed by the people for whom He died. Even sins committed under the old covenant were not forgiven by the blood of bulls and goats, but in advance, by virtue of what Messiah's sacrifice was sure to accomplish. Those effectually called by the gospel already receive the benefits of the promise, though they still wait for their eternal inheritance. Verse 16, "testament" the Greek word diatheke commonly means "covenant", and translates the Hebrew word for covenant, berith. However the author is bringing in the added significance of a firm anf settled testament, being effectual onlu upon death of the One who makes it. "Necessity" MesI siah's death was required so that He could pass on His inheritance to His brothers. We are joint heirs with our elder brother Jehoshua proving that the Godhead is a Family with Jehovah as our Father. This is a total rebuke to the SDA Tri theistic godhead teaching of the three independent god beings united as a committee locking us out of the Godhead as in this antichrist view there are no family relations in the Godhead . We as sons and daughters of God are part of the Godhead family in which we are a people called by Jehovah's name. Verse 17, a testament or covenant cannot exist without the shedding of blood. As with the first covenant (Ex 24:6-7), the second was also established through blood, specifically through the blood of Messiah. Once the testator has died there is no way to annul the testament, rendering it absolute. Verse 18, "whereupon". Therefore, drawing a conclusion from verses 16-17. "First testament". The Mosaic covenant was Instituted with blood because there was a self-malediction curse incorporated with the covenant. "Dedicated". Inaugurated. The old covenant was inaugurated by the blood of animals. Verse 19, "for when Moses had spoken". An allusion to Exodus 24:3-8. "Sprinkled both the book, and all the people." Everything under the old covenant was ceremonially purified with blood. Verses 20-21 Jehovah commanded perfect obdience from the people in the Mosaic covenant (Leviticus 18:5). Moses sprinkled the tabernacle and all its vessels. Verse 22, remisson meaning forgiveness. Thankfully we no longer have to sacrifice animals to receive remission of sins, we have the one time sacrifice of Jehoshua's shed blood that provided forgiveness of our sins. Verse 23, the pattern tabernacle on earth was purified with the blood of calves and goats (verse 19) "the heavenly things themselves". Not that heaven was unclean, but the bringing of guilty sinners into the Holy places would defile them unless they were purified with the Messiah's blood. Verse 24, why cling to a brick and mortar building if the Son of God is in heaven itself? Jehoshua only needs to to appear in the presence of Jehovah on behalf of His people and it is more than enough. We might want to ask, where is the presence of Jehovah in the heavenly sanctuary? Exodus 25:17-22 (KJV) 17And thou shalt make a mercy seat of pure gold: two cubits and a half shall be the length thereof, and a cubit and a half the breadth thereof.18And thou shalt make two cherubims of gold, of beaten work shalt thou make them, in the two ends of the mercy seat.19And make one cherub on the one end, and the other cherub on the other end: even of the mercy seat shall ye make the cherubims on the two ends thereof.20And the cherubims shall stretch forth their wings on high, covering the mercy seat with their wings, and their faces shall look one to another; toward the mercy seat shall the faces of the cherubims be.21And thou shalt put the mercy seat above upon the ark; and in the ark thou shalt put the testimony that I shall give thee.22And there I will meet with thee, and I will commune with thee from above the mercy seat, from between the two cherubims which are upon the ark of the testimony, of all things which I will give thee in commandment unto the children of Israel. The mercy seat was symbolic of Jehovah's divine throne and presence. With the sprinkling of blood on the mercy seat, the judgement of God is transformed into grace and mercy. Clearly, any believer with even a bit of bible knowledge knows that the mercy seat sat on top of the ark of the covenant which is in the most holy place in the sanctuary. Remember, that the earthly sanctuary is merely a copy of the heavenly which means that Jehovah's divine presence and throne in heaven is also in the most holy place. So if the Messiah appeared in the presence of God at the time of the writing of the book of Hebrews and clearly according to Exodus 25:17-22 the presence and throne of Jehovah is in the most holy place, then that means that Jehoshua went to the most holy place way before 1844. The book of Hebrews was likely written before AD 70. Verse 25, Jehoshua only had to make one atonement for sins and that was at the cross. Unlike the earthly priesthood of the Levites, the priesthood of Melchizedek is far superior in that only one had sacrifice had to be made for atonement (Messiah's death on the cross). Also, Melchizedek's (Jehoshua) priesthood was granted permanent access to the most holy place once the atonement was made. The Levitical priests were only granted access to the most holy place once a year on the day of atonement and then had to return to their daily ministry in the first apartment (holy place). In verse 26 of Hebrews, Jehoshua's death is only once. "End of the world" Not a reference to the temporal end of history, but the perfection of the ages. History moves toward a definite goal and the Son of God is moving His people to this goal. "Put away" remove or cancel. Verse 27, man dies once so this should caution us in believing in these stories where people claim they died and went to heaven or hell and then came back to tell about it. After death, the next event for man will be the judgement. The judgement takes place right after the second advent of Jehoshua. This then negates the false teaching that men go right to heaven after they die or to hell. One cannot be granted entry into heaven or the lake of fire without being judged and since the judgement is after the second advent and there is no interim purgatory type place then what becomes of man at death? Well, he simply sleeps as the bible says the dead know nothing. He will be awaken at the resurrection whether the resurrection of the just or unjust and then he will face judgement. Verse 28, "to bear the sins of many" an allusion to Isaiah 53:4, emphasizing substitution. "Shall he appear the second time without sin unto salvation". When Jehoshua returns with the clouds, He will not appear bearing the sins of His people in order to die again, but to bring His final salvation in.

Hebrews 5:5-8 (KJV)
5So also Christ glorified not himself to be made an high priest; but he that said unto him, Thou art my Son, to day have I begotten thee.6As he saith also in another place, Thou art a priest for ever after the order of Melchisedec.7Who in the days of his flesh, when he had offered up prayers and supplications with strong crying and tears unto him that was able to save him from death, and was heard in that he feared;8Though he were a Son, yet learned he obedience by the things which he suffered; Jehoshua being begotten denotes not only how He came into existence from the Father but also His being anointed as High Priest and King. This is the context of Hebrews 5 and also the term begotten is also used in a figurative sense in connection with the anointing of Israelite kings and being anointed as the Messiah of Jehovah (Luke 3:22, Matthew 3:17). 1 Chronicles 22:9-12 (KJV) 9Behold, a son shall be born to thee, who shall be a man of rest; and I will give him rest from all his enemies round about: for his name shall be Solomon, and I will give peace and quietness unto Israel in his days.10He shall build an house for my name; and he shall be my son, and I will be his father; and I will establish the throne of his kingdom over Israel for ever.11Now, my son, the LORD be with thee; and prosper thou, and build the house of the LORD thy God, as he hath said of thee.12Only the LORD give thee wisdom and understanding, and give thee charge concerning Israel, that thou mayest keep the law of the LORD thy God. Here in the above passage we see that Kingship was eqauted with Sonship. Notice what verse 10 says, Jehovah told David that Solomon would build a house for His (Jah's) name and would be His (Jah's) Son and that He (Jah) would be a Father to Solomon. Not only that but Jehovah said that He would establish the throne of his (Solomon's-David's) kingdom over Israel forever. All these things were also prophesied about Jehoshua in that God would be a Father to Him (Psalm 2:7) and He (Jehoshua) would build the temple ofJehovah (Zechariah 6:12-13) and He would be established as the King of Israel (Psalm 110:1, Psalm 45:6-7, Zechariah 6:13). In verse 12 of 1 Chronicles 22 we see that Jehovah was to give His son Solomon wisdom and understanding to rule righteously in order to the torah. The same thing was prophesied about Jehoshua in Isaiah 11:1-5. Israel as a nation was called the firstborn son of Jehovah. The sense is that of a preeminent chosen one. In this case it is a chosen nation, in Jehoshua's case it is as the Messiah, apostle and anointed King of Israel. David was also called the firstborn of Jehovah (Psalm 89:27). Exodus 22:4 (KJV) 22And thou shalt say unto Pharaoh, Thus saith the LORD, Israel is my son, even my firstborn. As we can see the term firstborn denotes preeminence and does not always mean a literal coming into existence. Jehovah chooses who will be His firstborn. 1 Chronicles 28:4-7 (ASV) 4Howbeit Jehovah, the God of Israel, chose me out of all the house of my father to be king over Israel for ever: for he hath chosen Judah to be prince; and in the house of Judah, the house of my father; and among the sons of my father he took pleasure in me to make me king over all Israel;5And of all my sons (for Jehovah hath given me many sons), he hath chosen Solomon my son to sit upon the throne of the kingdom of Jehovah over Israel.6And he said unto me, Solomon thy son, he shall build my house and my courts; for I have chosen him to be my son, and I will be his father.7And I will establish his kingdom for ever, if he be constant to do my commandments and mine ordinances, as at this day. We see here two very important points, the first is that Jehovah chooses who will be the King of Israel (verse 5). Two, that He also chooses who will be His Son (verse 6). This passage is in direct reference to Solomon but has it's ultimate fulfillment in Jehoshua. We see that the chosen king and son of Jehovah would be charged with the task of building the house of Jehovah. Solomon prefigured the Messiah in building a house for God the Father. As noted earlier Messiah was prophesied as building the house of Jehovah in Zechariah 6:12-13). We see the fulfillment of this in the new covenant Congregation as noted in Ephesians 2: 19Now therefore ye are no more strangers and foreigners, but fellowcitizens with the saints, and of the household of God;20And are built upon the foundation of the apostles and prophets, Jesus Christ himself being the chief corner stone;21In whom all the building fitly framed together groweth unto an holy temple in the Lord:22In whom ye also are builded together for an habitation of God through the Spirit. The Church also known as the commonwealth of Israel is the house of Jehovah (Ephesians 2:19). 1 Chronicles 29:21-25 (ASV) 21And they sacrificed sacrifices unto Jehovah, and offered burnt-offerings unto Jehovah, on the morrow after that day, even a thousand bullocks, a thousand rams, and a thousand lambs, with their drink-offerings, and sacrifices in abundance for all Israel,22and did eat and drink before Jehovah on that day with great gladness. And they made Solomon the son of David king the second time, and anointed him unto Jehovah to be prince, and Zadok to be priest.23Then Solomon sat on the throne of Jehovah as king instead of David his father, and prospered; and all Israel obeyed him.24And all the princes, and the mighty men, and all the sons likewise of king David, submitted themselves unto Solomon the king.25And Jehovah magnified Solomon exceedingly in the sight of all Israel, and bestowed upon him such royal majesty as had not been on any king before him in Israel. This beautiful passage of scripture prefigures the anointing of Jehoshua as the King of Israel and the glory and majesty that Jehovah God would bestow upon Him (Jehoshua). We see this take place in Hebrews 1 at Jehoshua's ascension and exaltation. This passage shows us some very important truths that dispell some myths that Christendom teaches. The common myth taught by Christendom is that only God Almighty can be given worship which means that because Jehoshua was worshipped He must be God Almighty. They ignore the plain truth of scripture that it is within Jehovah's right to magnify a man to a position where that man is worshipped. We see this in Revelation 3:9 where the saints are worshipped by the synagogue of satan. This is even seen earlier in this chapter of 1 Chronicles 29:20: 20And David said to all the assembly, Now bless Jehovah your God. And all the assembly blessed Jehovah, the God of their fathers, and bowed down their heads, and worshipped Jehovah, and the king. Notice here that Israel worshipped not only Jehovah God but also His King which in this case is David. Of course, the worship ascribed to David is in respect to the authority Jehovah has bestowed upon him as king and His preeminent (firstborn) son. Only Jehovah God is to be worshipped as the Almighty God so only He is to receive supreme worship and reverence as even Jehoshua taught. The type of worship given to His chosen king and son is in respect to the authority given to them. In verse 20 of 1 Chronicles, the word for "worshipped" in Hebrew is "shachah" (strongs 7812) and means "to depress, i.e. prostrate (especially reflexive, in homage to royalty or God): - bow (self) down, crouch, fall down (flat), humbly bes1eech, do (make) make obesiance, do reverence, make to stoop, worship". This is important to understand in terms of the trinitarians who say Jehoshua must be God Almighty because He was given worship. Here in 1 Chronicles, we see the same honor that Jehovah bestowed upon David being given to his son Solomon. The words used for this are noteworthy. Back to 1 Chronicles 29, in verse 22 Solomon is anointed as the King unto Jehovah. In verse 23, we see that all Israel obeyed Solomon as he was Jehovah's anointed king. Today Israel is a spiritual nation and our King is Jehoshua and we are to obey Him as this is the precedent that Jehovah God has set forth for His anointed Kings. How much moreso in the case of King Jehoshua in that He is God's ONLY begotten Son. Everything we see in David and Solomon are to be magnified in Messiah. They were begotten as sons of God by anointing being given the Spirit. The same goes for Jehoshua as He was anointed at His baptism and subsequent ascension and exaltation, however His Sonship is unique from anyone else that has ever existed as He was begotten directly by God in the womb of Mary. As powerful as David and Solomon were as kings, Jehoshua is the ultimate fulfilment of the kingly line of David and is the King of kings and Lord of Lords (Rev. 19:16). Back to the text in 1 Chronicles 29, obviously it is Jehovah's prerogative to ascribe a nation/church to obey a man that He (Jehovah) has anointed. Today many mistakenly think that a man even if he is anointed by God cannot be given this type of obedience yet scripture contradicts this notion. Verse 24 says that even all the prince's and mighty men submitted themselves unto king Solomon. Again this shows that Jehovah can indeed demand that a man He has anointed be obeyed and worshipped (verse 20). In verse 25, the text says "Jehovah magnified Solomon exceedingly in the sight of all Israel", lets look at the definition of the two words "magnified" and "exceedingly". Magnified comes from the Hebrew word "gadal" (strongs 1431) and means "to be large in estate, mind, body, honor, also in pride: - advance, boast, bring up, exceed, excellent, become great, increase, lift up, magnify, promote, proudly (spoken), tower." This is pretty good stuff that Jehovah placed upon Solomon as He gave him honor, made him great, boasted and lifted him up and promoted him, proudly speaking of him. If that is not enough, Jehovah didn't just do this in measure but rather "exceedingly" which comes from the Hebrew word "malal" (strongs 4605) and means "upward, above, overhead, from the top, above, exceeding, high, over up, very". King Solomon was given the highest honor and estate anyone under heaven could ever be given and it was given in above anyone and he was made greater than anyone. Israel was to obey and worship him (verse 20). Does anyone dare to tell Jehovah God that He has no right to decree that a man anointed by Him cannot be worshipped? Yet that is the false assumption by trinitarians. This is why they are stuck in their delusion that just because Jehoshua is worshipped that He must be God Almighty. Certainly, if a human king anointed by Jehovah can rightly be worshipped how much moreso Jehoshua who is God's divine King. Remember Jehoshua's statement to the Pharisees? John 10:34 (KJV) 34Jesus answered them, Is it not written in your law, I said, Ye are gods?35If he called them gods, unto whom the word of God came, and the scripture cannot be broken;36Say ye of him, whom the Father hath sanctified, and sent into the world, Thou blasphemest; because I said, I am the Son of God? Jehoshua is making reference to Psalm 82 where earthly judges are being rebuked for not upholding justice for the needy as they should have been. Jehoshua said that if these human magistrates are called gods then it should be no big thing that He (Jehoshua) is called god being that He has been sanctified by the Father and is the Son of God. Jehoshua wasn't claiming to be God Almighty but rather His Son and saying that if the human judges were called gods then how much moreso he is a god being that He is actually the Son of God. The same applies in repsect of the kings of Israel especially Davd and Solomon. If they were magnified exceedingly by Jehovah and worshipped by the congregation then how much more should we worship God's ONLY begotten Son who has exceeded both David and Solomon combined in being anointed by Jehovah's Spirit and being magnified by the Father. Let's go to verse 25 of 1 Chronicles 29, the text says Jehovah bestowed upon Solomon royal majesty as had not been seen on any king before in Israel. Let's play the word game again. The word bestowed comes from the Hebrew word (strongs 5414) "nathan" and means to "appoint, apply, ascribe, assign, cause, charge, commit". So what did Jehovah ascribe and apply to Solomon? The bible says "royal majesty" The word "royal" comes from the Hebrew word "malkuwth" (strongs 4438) and means "a rule, dominion, empire, kingdom, realm, reign, kingly". So Jehovah appointed a kingdom and dominion to Solomon in which he would reign as Jehovah's vice regent. This is pretty great stuff we are seeing being given to Solomon from Jehovah. You can see now why Israel was commamded to worship Jehovah's anointed King as the Father committed all His authority under heaven to the King. To not worship Jehovah's anointed would be disrespect and disobedience to God Himself. One more word and that is majesty which comes from the Hebrew word "howd" (strongs 1935) and means "grandeur, (i.e. an imposing form and appearance): - beauty, comeliness, excellency, glorious, glory, goodly, honour, majesty." Wow! Our Father in heaven gave all this to Solomon, bestowed upon him royal (kingly) grandeur, honour and magnificence. Solomon must have been a sight to behold as this also has an application to outward appearance and form. When the kings were anointed by Jehovah with His Spirit you can beleive that they radiated that Spirit where others would be able to see it. Isn't that true of us when we are connected to the Father and Son through the Holy Spirit? People see us radiate the Spirit of God. How much more then the kings of Israel when they were anointed by Jehovah and bestowed magnificence and glory upon them. This is important to understand because there is a myth in Christendom that in order for Jehovah to share His glory with anyone that means they also have to be God Almighty as part of some trinity. This passage in 1 Chronicles 29 shows that not only can Jehovah bestow honor and glory upon a man but Jehovah can also decree that a man He anoints can be rightly worshipped. This leads us to the Messiah Jehoshua and gives us a foundation in establishing that He can rightly be worshipped without being God Almighty which refutes the false Catholic-Protestant teaching that in order for one to be worshipped they must be God Almighty. Let's go to some texts that are about Jehoshua's coronation as the King of Israel. Psalm 45:6-7 (KJV) 6Thy throne, O God, is for ever and ever: the sceptre of thy kingdom is a right sceptre.7Thou lovest righteousness, and hatest wickedness: therefore God, thy God, hath anointed thee with the oil of gladness above thy fellows.8All thy garments smell of myrrh, and aloes, and cassia, out of the ivory palaces, whereby they have made thee glad.9Kings’ daughters were among thy honourable women: upon thy right hand did stand the queen in gold of Ophir.10Hearken, O daughter, and consider, and incline thine ear; forget also thine own people, and thy father’s house;11So shall the king greatly desire thy beauty: for he is thy Lord; and worship thou him. The immediate application of pslam 45 is regarding king David's son Solomon. This is obvious when reading the passage in context. The NASB properly translates this verses 6 and 7 as "god" when in reference to the King as the king was God's representatives to the people. We see here the anointing of king Solomon where Jehovah tells him that his throne is forever. This would ultimately be fulfilled in Jehoshua who has an everlasting Kingdom. Solomon is prophesied here as ruling with a scpter of righteousness. He is described as one who will hate wickedness. This is very telling, because this ultimately is about Jehoshua who also hates wickedness. This ought to be troubling for many Churches who preach a watered down version of Jehoshua who will just accept anyone regardless of how they live. In this pasaage we see that king Solomon has a God and clearly it is Jehovah. Since this pasaage finds its final fulfillment in Jehoshua then we see that Jehovah is Jehoshua's God as well. This destroys the false trinitarian doctrine. Another verse that destroys the false trinitarian view that because someone receives worship they must be God Almighty is verse 11 of psalm 45: " So shall the king greatly desire thy beauty: for he is thy Lord; and worship thou him." king Solomon here is called "Lord" which comes from the Hebrew word "adown" (Strongs 113) and means "sovereign (meaning to rule), i.e. controller (human or divine): - lord, master, owner. "adown" unlike "adonai" is normally applied to human rulers and sovereigns. Adonai is used to describe a divinity. Remember, that Jehoshua is called Lord several times in the new testament. This title applies to Him being the master teacher (rabbi) over His apostles and disciples however it also applies to His Kingship. Unlike Solomon, Jehoshua is divine havingthe fulness of the Godhead in Him bodily. Also remember that is Jehovah God who made Jehoshua Lord (King). Acts 2:36 (KJV) 36Therefore let all the house of Israel know assuredly, that God hath made that same Jesus, whom ye have crucified, both Lord and Christ. Notice this that it was Jehovah God that made His Son both King (Lord) and Messiah (anointed). This means that before God made Jehoshua these two things He did not have these positions. Much of Christendom has taken away much of the credit and glory that rightfully goes to the Father for bestowing these honours upon His Son. We also see in verse 11 that David in this prophetic psalm calls for Solomon's future wife to worship him (Solomon). Just to reiterate the he word for "worshipped" in Hebrew is "shachah" (strongs 7812) and means "to depress, i.e. prostrate (especially reflexive, in homage to royalty or God): - bow (self) down, crouch, fall down (flat), humbly bes1eech, do (make) make obesiance, do reverence, make to stoop, worship". This is the same word for worship used elsewhere for Jehovah God. Obviously David isn't telling the woman to worship his son Solomon as the Almighty God but rather as the anointed King of Israel who is Jehovah's earthly representative. This also hurts the trinitarian argument that just because Jehoshua is worshipped that must mean He is the Almighty God. Of course we are to worship Jehoshua our worship of Him is to exceed the worship given to any of the kings of Israel of the past. Infact, our worship of Jehoshua is to be second only to Jehovah God. Remember, Jehoshua is the ultimate fulfilment of this prophecy in Psalm 45 and the honour bestowed upon Solomon is magnified 100 fold for Jehoshua who is God's divine King and God's only begotten Son. Jehoshua need not be Almighty God to receive worship but rather His position as the King of Israel demands that we worship Him, not to mention His unique Sonship. If king David and Solomon were worshipped how much moreso Jehoshua who is a divine King? This is why the view that only Almighty God can be worshipped makes no sense as we see that his anointed human kings were worshipped. Jehovah decreed that this was to be so and He decrees this be given to His Son as well. To not worship Jehoshua would be defiance to God the Father. Yet trinitarians are telling Jehovah hat He has no right to decree that someone He anoints as King is worthy of worship. Acts 13;30-37 (KJV) 30But God raised him from the dead:31And he was seen many days of them which came up with him from Galilee to Jerusalem, who are his witnesses unto the people.32And we declare unto you glad tidings, how that the promise which was made unto the fathers,33God hath fulfilled the same unto us their children, in that he hath raised up Jesus again; as it is also written in the second psalm, Thou art my Son, this day have I begotten thee.34And as concerning that he raised him up from the dead, now no more to return to corruption, he said on this wise, I will give you the sure mercies of David.35Wherefore he saith also in another psalm, Thou shalt not suffer thine Holy One to see corruption.36For David, after he had served his own generation by the will of God, fell on sleep, and was laid unto his fathers, and saw corruption:37But he, whom God raised again, saw no corruption. Above is an excerpt of Paul's sermon in Antioch on the Sabbath day. Notice here that Paul connects the resurrection (verse 30 and 34) with Jehoshua being begotten by the Father (verse 33). Psalm 2 is qouted by Paul. Also, it was God the Father that raised Messiah from the dead not trinity according to Paul. With Paul connecting the resurrection with Psalm 2 in Romans 1:1-4 and here in Acts 13:30-37, then it is reasonable to conclude that when the second psalm is qouted in Hebrews 1 that the writer of Hebrews (possibly Paul) has the resurrection in mind which fits the context of Hebrews 1 perfectly. Also, see Acts 2:29-36 to fit even more perfectly the resurrection and exaltation of Jehoshua with Him being begotten by the Father. Let's go back to the word "firstborn" Jeremiah 31;9 (KJV) 9They shall come with weeping, and with supplications will I lead them: I will cause them to walk by the rivers of waters in a straight way, wherein they shall not stumble: for I am a father to Israel, and Ephraim is my firstborn. Ephraim "Israel" was the first nation to receive Jehovah's adoption. Firstborn here in this context is a token of preeminence and anointing. Firstborn comes from the Hebrew word "bkowr" (strongs 1060) and means "Firstborn, chief, eldest (son)" Firstborn can denote a literal eldest son or could also mean a title of "preeminence" hence "chief". Obviously in this context firstborn denotes preeminence as there were other nations that existed prior to Israel. David was made the Firstborn by Jehovah God. How was this? In context, it was Jehovah exalting and anointing David as king of Israel that made David the Firstborn of Jehovah (verses 19, 20 and 27).
The Hebrew word for firstborn is "bkowr" (strongs 1060) and means "chief, eldest son, firstborn" Obviously in this context firstborn means "chief" in a literal sense and "eldest son" in a spiritual sense. Firstborn doesn't mean that David was literally Jehovah's firstborn son. With this understanding in mind we can better understand Colossians 1:15 where it calls Jehoshua the Firstborn of creation. I'll touch on this below: Psalm 89:18-29 (DNKJB) 18 For the JEHOVAH is our defence; and the Holy One of Israel is our king.19 Then thou spakest in vision to thy holy one, and saidst, I have laid help upon one that is mighty; I have exalted one chosen out of the people.20 I have found David my servant; with my holy oil have I anointed him:21With whom my hand shall be established: mine arm also shall strengthen him.22 The enemy shall not exact upon him; nor the son of wickedness afflict him.23 And I will beat down his foes before his face, and plague them that hate him.24 But my faithfulness and my mercy shall be with him: and in my name shall his horn be exalted.25 I will set his hand also in the sea, and his right hand in the rivers.26 He shall cry unto me, Thou art my father, my God, and the rock of my salvation.27 Also I Will MAKE HIM MY FIRSTBORN, higher than the kings of the earth.28 My mercy will I keep for him for evermore, and my covenant shall stand fast with him.29 His seed also will I make to endure for ever, and his throne as the days of heaven. Colossians 1:12-19 (KJV) 12Giving thanks unto the Father, which hath made us meet to be partakers of the inheritance of the saints in light:13Who hath delivered us from the power of darkness, and hath translated us into the kingdom of his dear Son:14In whom we have redemption through his blood, even the forgiveness of sins:15Who is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn of every creature:16For by him were all things created, that are in heaven, and that are in earth, visible and invisible, whether they be thrones, or dominions, or principalities, or powers: all things were created by him, and for him:17And he is before all things, and by him all things consist.18And he is the head of the body, the church: who is the beginning, the firstborn from the dead; that in all things he might have the preeminence.19For it pleased the Father that in him should all fulness dwell; In verse 15, Jehoshua is called the Firstborn of all creation. What does this mean? Well if we go back to Psalm 89 we will get the proper understanding of this title used for Jehoshua. The greek word for firstborn is "prototokos" (Strongs 4416) and means "firstborn, (literally or figuratively), firstbegotten". Note the word "figuratively" In verses 12 and 13 of Colossians 1 Paul says that we have been translated from the devils kingdom into the Kingdom of God's dear Son which is a Kingdom of light. What was the vehicle that allowed us entrance into the Son's Kingdom? His death on the stake as we see in verse 14 "redemption through His blood". It's right after this passage that says that Jehoshua is the Firstborn of creation. In context this doesn't denote Him being literally born before everything was created but rather that His resurrection from the dead was the vehicle that initiated His Kingdom hence "firstborn". It was His death on the stake and subsequent resurrection which resulted in Him triumphing over the powers and principalities of darkness as stated in Colossians 2:15: "And having spoiled principalities and powers, he made a shew of them openly, triumphing over them in it." What does this have to do with Jehoshua being called the firstborn of creation? Because in verse 18 it says: "18And he is the head of the body, the church: who is the beginning, the firstborn from the dead; that in all things he might have the preeminence." Here we have the answer, Jehoshua being called the firstborn is in reference to the preeminence He has due to being the Firstborn from the dead. Remember in Psalm 89 David was called the Firstborn of Jehovah due to being anointed as the king of Israel. Well, what was the result of the death and resurrection of Messiah? He was anointed as the King of Israel. Let's go to Hebrews 1 to witness the anointing of our God and King Jehoshua. Hebrews 1:5-9 (KJV) 5For unto which of the angels said he at any time, Thou art my Son, this day have I begotten thee? And again, I will be to him a Father, and he shall be to me a Son?6And again, when he bringeth in the firstbegotten into the world, he saith, And let all the angels of God worship him.7And of the angels he saith, Who maketh his angels spirits, and his ministers a flame of fire.8But unto the Son he saith, Thy throne, O God, is for ever and ever: a sceptre of righteousness is the sceptre of thy kingdom.9Thou hast loved righteousness, and hated iniquity; therefore God, even thy God, hath anointed thee with the oil of gladness above thy fellows. Many attribute verses 5-6 to an eternal begetting of Jehoshua but lets go to Psalm 2 to get a better understanding of what these two verses really mean: Psalm 2:6-8 (KJV) 6Yet have I set my king upon my holy hill of Zion.7I will declare the decree: the LORD hath said unto me, Thou art my Son; this day have I begotten thee.8Ask of me, and I shall give thee the heathen for thine inheritance, and the uttermost parts of the earth for thy possession. This Psalm is about David and also Solomon but ultimately finds perfect fulfillment in Jehoshua as a prophecy. The words "this day I begotten thee" denote a begetting in time not eternity. Also, the begetting and declaration of Sonship is in connection with the anointing of David and later Solomon as King of Zion, of course being ultimately fulfilled in Messiah Jehoshua. What makes Jehoshua unique is that He was Jehovah's uniquely begotten Son prior to His enthronement as King of Israel. So begotten in this passage of Psalms has nothing to do with literal birthing but rather being anointed as King. We can prove this in the new testament by the words of Paul the apostle in Romans chapter 1: 1Paul, a servant of Jesus Christ, called to be an apostle, separated unto the gospel of God,2Which he had promised afore by his prophets in the holy scriptures,)3Concerning his Son Jesus Christ our Lord, which was made of the seed of David according to the flesh;4And declared to be the Son of God with power, according to the spirit of holiness, by the resurrection from the dead: Do you see this, Jehoshua was declared to the Son of God by the resurrection from the dead hence first begotten from the dead. If we go back to Psalm 2 it is the anointing of David and Solomon in which they are declared to be begotten and hence Sons of God. It was Jehoshua's resurrection that was the vehicle that led to His enthronement as King of Israel. For proof of this let's go to Acts 2 and the words of Peter: Acts 2:30-36 (KJV) 30Therefore being a prophet, and knowing that God had sworn with an oath to him, that of the fruit of his loins, according to the flesh, he would raise up Christ to sit on his throne;31He seeing this before spake of the resurrection of Christ, that his soul was not left in hell, neither his flesh did see corruption.32This Jesus hath God raised up, whereof we all are witnesses.33Therefore being by the right hand of God exalted, and having received of the Father the promise of the Holy Ghost, he hath shed forth this, which ye now see and hear.34For David is not ascended into the heavens: but he saith himself, The LORD said unto my Lord, Sit thou on my right hand,35Until I make thy foes thy footstool.36Therefore let all the house of Israel know assuredly, that God hath made that same Jesus, whom ye have crucified, both Lord and Christ. Peter connects the resurrection of Jehoshua with Him being exalted at the right hand of Jehovah God and enthroned on the throne of David. Remember, Colossians 1:18 says that Jehoshua was the first begotten from the dead and Romans 1:1-4 says Jehoshua was declared to be the Son of God by the spirit of holiness. Remember, the term begotten in Psalm 2 that is qouted in Hebrews 1 is in reference to David and later Solomon being anointed as King of Israel. Also, it's a prophecy of Messiah's resurrection and subsequent enthronement as King of Israel. Peter and Paul both connect this begetting with Messiah's resurrection not an eternal begetting in heaven. In verse 34, Psalm 110:1 is qouted proving it as a prophetic verse applying to Jehoshua being exalted to the right hand of Jehovah God as King of Israel. This happened after Jehoshua's ascension. In verse 36, Peter tells the crowd that Jehovah God made Jehoshua Messiah and Lord, this is a key verse to understand. This means that Jehoshua wasn't born anointed as the Messiah but that at some point in His earthly life He was made Messiah. This was at His baptism where some ancient texts render Matthew 3:17 & Luke 2:33 as: "Justin then goes on to explain to Trypho the Jew-- once more obviously quoting the original form of Matthew 3:17 and Luke 3:22: "For this devil, when [Jesus] went up from the river Jordan, at the time when the voice spake to Him, “Thou art my Son: this day have I begotten Thee,” is recorded in the memoirs of the apostles to have come to Him and tempted Him, even so far as to say to Him, “Worship me;” and Christ answered him, “Get thee behind me, Satan: thou shalt worship the Lord thy God, and Him only shalt thou serve.” (Id., ch. CII.) Others who found the same passage in Matthew are Juvencus, Evangeliorum Libri Quattor, I 360-64 and Hilary, De Trinitate, VIII, 25, Tyconius, Reg. 1 In the Hebrew Matthew, there are two variants to the baptismal account which are different from the Greek text tradition. The first adds "today I have begotten thee." After saying many things, this Gospel continues: “After the people were baptized, Jesus also came and was baptized by John. And as Jesus came up from the water, Heaven was opened, and He saw the Holy Spirit descend in the form of a dove and enter into Him. And a voice from Heaven said, ‘You are my beloved Son; with You I am well pleased.’ And again, ‘Today I have begotten You.’ “Immediately a great light shone around the place; and John, seeing it, said to Him, ‘Who are you, Lord? And again a voice from Heaven said, ‘This is my beloved Son, with whom I am well pleased.’ Then John, falling down before Him, said, ‘I beseech You, Lord, baptize me!’ But He forbade him saying, ‘Let it be so; for thus it is fitting that all things be fulfilled.’” (Epiphanius, Panarion 30.13.7) [see Wikipedia - Authentic Gospel Of Matthew]" Luke 4:1 (KJV) 1And Jesus being full of the Holy Ghost returned from Jordan, and was led by the Spirit into the wilderness, This passage in Luke 4:1 is right after Jehoshua's baptism showing that He received the fullness of the Holy Spirit at His baptism which is when Jehoshua was anointed as the Messiah. The ancient accounts of Jehoshua's baptism say that the Holy Spirit entered into Him rather than upon Him. This leads to the truth that Jehoshua was anointed as Messiah at this time. Luke 2:25-26 (KJV) 25And, behold, there was a man in Jerusalem, whose name was Simeon; and the same man was just and devout, waiting for the consolation of Israel: and the Holy Ghost was upon him.26And it was revealed unto him by the Holy Ghost, that he should not see death, before he had seen the Lord’s Christ. Jehoshua was predestined by God as Messiah from before the foundation of the world as we see here that He is called the Lord's (Jehovah) Christ i.e. Messiah even as a baby. However is anointing as Messiah came at His baptism. Either way, it is Jehovah that made Him Messiah. He was also made "Lord". This proves that the title "Lord" as applied to Jehoshua in this case is not the divine name "Jehovah" or meaning "God Almighty" but rather a title signifying Sovereignty, Lordship, Master and Kingship. Obviously no one gets made Jehovah or God Almighty. Jehoshua was made Lord at His baptism as we see Him being called that after this took place. He was given Lordship over the House of Israel, however in a grander sense He was made Lord at His ascension and exaltation as King (Hebrews 1). Obviously Jehovah predestined Jehoshua as Lord before the foundation of the world, however Jehoshua was made Lord by the Father. The word "made" comes from the Greek word "poieo" (strongs 4160) and means "ordain, perform appoint, give". The teaching that Jehoshua as God Almighty simply volunteered Himself to take on the roles of Messiah and Lord of Israel is unfounded, the bible clearly teaches that God the Father predestined and made (appointed, ordained) Him as these things (Lord and Messiah). Psalm 110:1 (ASV) 1Jehovah saith unto my Lord, Sit thou at my right hand, Until I make thine enemies thy footstool. This is the verse that Peter quoted in verse 34 of Acts 2. This is a prophetic vision of David that Peter says was fulfilled as a result of Jehoshua's resurrection (Acts 2:32-33). Hebrews 1 is the fulfillment of David's vision. The Jehovah in this text is the Father speaking to His Son who is referenced as Lord which is not a title of deity as the Hebrew word for this rendering of Lord is "Addown" rather than "Adonai". Addown (strongs 113) is never used as a title of deity in the old testament. Pronounced "aw-done" it means "sovereign, i.e. controller (human or divine): lord, master, owner. This is the same meaning as "Lord" as applied to Jehoshua in the new testament. This verse is not one God Almighty speaking to another God Almighty but rather Jehovah God speaking to His Son the Messiah who He (the Father) made Lord (Sovereign) over the House of Israel. Psalm Chapter 2:1-8 (DNKJB) 1Why do the heathen rage, and the people imagine a vain thing?2The kings of the earth set themselves, and the rulers take counsel together, against the JEHOVAH, and against his anointed, saying,3Let us break their bands asunder, and cast away their cords from us.4He that sitteth in the heavens shall laugh: JEHOVAH shall have them in derision.5Then shall he speak unto them in his wrath, and vex them in his sore displeasure.6Yet have I set my king upon my holy hill of Zion.7I will declare the decree: JEHOVAH hath said unto me, Thou art my Son; this day have I begotten thee.8Ask of me, and I shall give thee the heathen for thine inheritance, and the uttermost parts of the earth for thy possession. This has an immediate application to king David but it is ultimately a prophecy of Jehoshua. In verse 2, Jehoshua is prophesied as Jehovah's anointed. In verses 6-8 we see the connection with being begotten as God's Son and being anointed as king of Israel. This is not a literal birth but rather a declaration of Sonship in connection with being made King. So one can be begotten of God without an eternal begetting in heaven or even a literal birth out of a woman's womb. Acts 13:33 (KJV) 33God hath fulfilled the same unto us their children, in that he hath raised up Jesus again; as it is also written in the second psalm, Thou art my Son, this day have I begotten thee. Jehoshua being begotten by the Father is also attributed to His resurrection from the dead. This verse right here disproves the false teaching that Jehoshua's soul upon death went to heaven. To be begotten in this sense denotes coming to life. You can't come to life if you aren't really dead. The word "begotten" comes from the Greek word "gennao" (strongs 1080) and means "figuratively, to regenerate: - bear, beget, be born, bring forth, conceive, be delivered of, gender, make, spring. Jehoshua was begotten (born, brought forth, regenerated) from the dead. This exposes the false trinitarian doctrine of Jehoshua not really dying and that His soul went to heaven. Notice that the meaning of begotten can also be used figuratively which it is used when it is spoken in terms of being anointed as King of Israel in Psalm 2 and Hebrews 1. Matthew 17:4-5 (KJV) 4Then answered Peter, and said unto Jesus, Lord, it is good for us to be here: if thou wilt, let us make here three tabernacles; one for thee, and one for Moses, and one for Elias.5While he yet spake, behold, a bright cloud overshadowed them: and behold a voice out of the cloud, which said, This is my beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased; hear ye him. The passage above is about the transfiguration of Jehoshua. Again, the Father makes what should be an unquestionable statement about Jehoshua in terms of the relationship they have with each other. In verse 5 the Father says: "This is my beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased." This is the second time in the old testament that the Father spake and both times it has been a confirming declaration that Jehoshua is His beloved Son. The Father spoke audibly three times in the new testament, two of which was declaring Jehoshua to be His beloved Son. Why can't Christian's just beleive the straight forward words of the Father? This is because they are deceived thereby forming "another Jesus" according to their liking. Their pastor's have mislead them whether intentionally or unintentionally and instead of being bereans many Christian's simply accept their words based on their title. The beauty of this passage is lost on most of Christendom as they have turned what is a very plain confession of the Father into a complicated convoluted concept of the trinity or tri theism. We see from this statement that Jehoshua truly is the Son of God the Father. This is the true unpretending non role playing identity of the Messiah. It is impossible for the Father to lie so when He says that Jehoshua is His Son then that is exactly who Jehoshua is in identity. As we fo forward in this study we will see what kind of Son. Some say He was adopted as a Son at His baptism, or begotten via the Holy Spirit through Mary but no pre existence, some say He was created before all things, some say that He was/is begotten eternally, some say He was begotten before all things. We will have the answer as we proceed. One thing we can eliminate for sure is that Jehoshua was a role playing Son (tri theism and some forms of trinitarianism and Binitarianism. Matthew 18:10 (KJV) 10Take heed that ye despise not one of these little ones; for I say unto you, That in heaven their angels do always behold the face of my Father which is in heaven. All of us in the Family of Jehovah can say with all sincerity that He is our Father. Here in Matthew 18 when Jehoshua says it you get the strong sense that it is in the context of an intimate relationship He has with the Father even moreso than anyone else. Here he is speaking to His disciples who also considered God their Father yet Jehoshua uses the phrase "My Father" denoting a unique relationship that He has with God that no one else has. Matthew 18:19 (KJV) 19Again I say unto you, That if two of you shall agree on earth as touching any thing that they shall ask, it shall be done for them of my Father which is in heaven. Matthew 18:35 (KJV) 35So likewise shall my heavenly Father do also unto you, if ye from your hearts forgive not every one his brother their trespasses. Again, Jehoshua uses the very personal and intimate "My Father" designation in reference to God in the verses above. Matthew 19:17 (KJV) 17And he said unto him, Why callest thou me good? there is none good but one, that is, God: but if thou wilt enter into life, keep the commandments. Jehoshua acknowledges that there is only One God and that He Himself wasn't this One God. That's why He said "why callest thou me good?" Yet the trinitarians and tri theists won't accept the simple monotheistic statement of Jehoshua and make for themselves a god of their own imagination. Why did Jehoshua re direct the words of the rich young ruler to God as only being good? Because Jehoshua is the Son of God not God Almighty Himself. And as any good Son He honors His Father as the one that is the source of all goodness. Matthew 20:23 (KJV) 23And he saith unto them, Ye shall drink indeed of my cup, and be baptized with the baptism that I am baptized with: but to sit on my right hand, and on my left, is not mine to give, but it shall be given to them for whom it is prepared of my Father. Jehoshua acknowledges the authority of the Father and again uses the intimate term of endearment "My Father". Matthew 21:33-39 (KJV) 33Hear another parable: There was a certain householder, which planted a vineyard, and hedged it round about, and digged a winepress in it, and built a tower, and let it out to husbandmen, and went into a far country:34And when the time of the fruit drew near, he sent his servants to the husbandmen, that they might receive the fruits of it.35And the husbandmen took his servants, and beat one, and killed another, and stoned another.36Again, he sent other servants more than the first: and they did unto them likewise.37But last of all he sent unto them his son, saying, They will reverence my son.38But when the husbandmen saw the son, they said among themselves, This is the heir; come, let us kill him, and let us seize on his inheritance.39And they caught him, and cast him out of the vineyard, and slew him. In this parable, the householder is the Father who finally sends His Son after the religious leaders killed the Father's prophets and servants. Of course, they do the same thing to to the Son wanting the Son's inheritance (throne, crown and subjects of the Kingdom). This parable mirrors what happened to Jehoshua. In this parable, we see that the Father-Son relationship between Jehovah and Jehoshua is real and not a role play. The householder (Jehovah) sends a real Son (Jehoshua) to recieve the fruit (justice, righteousness) of the vineyard. Jehoshua placed Himself in a different category than the prophets, not a mere servant but the Son of God and heir of God's Kingdom (Hebrews 1:4, 8-9). Again, there is no indication in this parable that the Father i.e. Lord of the vineyard and His Son whom He sent were role playing. Matthew 22:2-14 2The kingdom of heaven is like unto a certain king, which made a marriage for his son,3And sent forth his servants to call them that were bidden to the wedding: and they would not come. 4Again, he sent forth other servants, saying, Tell them which are bidden, Behold, I have prepared my dinner: my oxen and my fatlings are killed, and all things are ready: come unto the marriage.5But they made light of it, and went their ways, one to his farm, another to his merchandise:6And the remnant took his servants, and entreated them spitefully, and slew them.7But when the king heard thereof, he was wroth: and he sent forth his armies, and destroyed those murderers, and burned up their city.8Then saith he to his servants, The wedding is ready, but they which were bidden were not worthy.9Go ye therefore into the highways, and as many as ye shall find, bid to the marriage.10So those servants went out into the highways, and gathered together all as many as they found, both bad and good: and the wedding was furnished with guests.11And when the king came in to see the guests, he saw there a man which had not on a wedding garment:12And he saith unto him, Friend, how camest thou in hither not having a wedding garment? And he was speechless.13Then said the king to the servants, Bind him hand and foot, and take him away, and cast him into outer darkness; there shall be weeping and gnashing of teeth.14For many are called, but few are chosen. This is another parable which reveals that Jehovah and Jehoshua have a real Father-Son relationship. In this parable, the King is the Father who sends servants (prophets, apostles) to invite the people (first Israel) to the Son's (Jehoshua) wedding feast. Some take the invitation lightly and are ensnared by the cares of this life and some (religious leaders, zealots and others) actually slay the servants (prophets, apostles, ministers of the word) and persecute them. Finally all people (highways) are invited to the feasts. Only those who have wedding garments (righteousness of Messiah) are allowed entrance into the Son's wedding feast. Those who think they can get into the Kingdom on their own terms will be cast into the lake of fire (verse 11-13). Jehoshua is the Son of God and the bridegroom of the Church. Again, in this parable there is no indication of a role playing Son. Verse 7 shows the consequences of rejecting God's Son. This is a prophecy of AD 70 and also the second advent. Matthew 22;42-46 (KJV) 42Saying, What think ye of Christ? whose son is he? They say unto him, The Son of David.43He saith unto them, How then doth David in spirit call him Lord, saying,44The LORD said unto my Lord, Sit thou on my right hand, till I make thine enemies thy footstool?45If David then call him Lord, how is he his son?46And no man was able to answer him a word, neither durst any man from that day forth ask him any more questions. Here in Matthew 22, Jehoshua indicates His superiority over David and that ultimately He is God's Son. Jehoshua questions the Pharisees on the anointed one's Sonship. The Pharisees answered correctly that the Messiah would be the promised offspring of David. In verse 43, Jehoshua affirms David's psalm as being inspired by the Holy Spirit. Jehoshua in verse 44 quotes Psalm 110 in which two designations of "Lord" are used. The first one is translated from the divine name "Jehovah" and the second rendering of "Lord" means "Master". The first "LORD" applies to the Father and the second "Lord" to the Son who is the Master. David who was anointed as the king of Israel addresses the Messiah as His King, exalted to share in the very glory of God at the right hand of Jehovah. Therefore "the Son of David", though human must be far more than a man. The question "Whose Son is he? requires the answer, "the Son of God". Jehoshua was proving from the scriptures His unique status as God's true divine Son, the same claim for which they would condemn Him to death. Matthew 23:39 (KJV) 39For I say unto you, Ye shall not see me henceforth, till ye shall say, Blessed is he that cometh in the name of the Lord. Jehoshua came in the name of His Father Jehovah in order to reveal the Father (1 John 5:20) to us. In fact Jehoshua Himself is named Jehovah which He inherited (Heb 1:4). Matthew 25:31-34 (KJV) 31When the Son of man shall come in his glory, and all the holy angels with him, then shall he sit upon the throne of his glory:32And before him shall be gathered all nations: and he shall separate them one from another, as a shepherd divideth his sheep from the goats:33And he shall set the sheep on his right hand, but the goats on the left.34Then shall the King say unto them on his right hand, Come, ye blessed of my Father, inherit the kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world: Jehoshua again refers to God as "My Father" a term of endearment we are all to use as beleivers. When Jehoshua says this, a inference of a divine relationship that no one else has with God is evident. We are all sons and daughters of God, however Jehoshua is God's ONLY begotten Son. This is why He is our elder brother as we were adopted into the Family whereas He was born into it. We can cross refrence this passage to 1 Corinthians 15:24-28 which is when the Son of God conquers His enemies including death and then turns over the Kingdom to the Father. Jehoshua calls us the blessed of "His Father" denoting possession that Jehovah is His Father in an ontological sense. Jehoshua is ruling the Kingdom now as the Son of God and will then after His second advent turn the Kingdom which includes His subjects (believers) over to the Father's rule so that God can be all in all and this is why Jehoshua says: "Come, ye blessed of my Father, inherit the kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world:" We are currently in the Kingdom of the Son of God and in the age to come we will be in the Kingdom of God the Father. Matthew 26:39-43 (KJV) 39And he went a little further, and fell on his face, and prayed, saying, O my Father, if it be possible, let this cup pass from me: nevertheless not as I will, but as thou wilt.40And he cometh unto the disciples, and findeth them asleep, and saith unto Peter, What, could ye not watch with me one hour?41Watch and pray, that ye enter not into temptation: the spirit indeed is willing, but the flesh is weak.42He went away again the second time, and prayed, saying, O my Father, if this cup may not pass away from me, except I drink it, thy will be done.43And he came and found them asleep again: for their eyes were heavy. Jehoshua gave us an example of how to pray and that we can look to God as our Father and address Him as such. Jehoshua came to bridge the gap between God and man. As God's Son He was perfectly able to reveal the Father to us as Jehoshua is the express image (exact representstion) of God. Because we are adopted into the Family of Jehovah we can also refer to God as our Father because indeed He is. Jehoshua is the supernatural (preexistent) and natural (virgin birth) Son of God and hence our elder brother as we are adopted as sons and daughters. Matthew 26:53 (KJV) 53Thinkest thou that I cannot now pray to my Father, and he shall presently give me more than twelve legions of angels? In context, Jehoshua is rebuking his disciple for taking vengeance into his own hands in smiting the ear of the High Priest's servants. Here we learn a couple things, one that Jehoshua came to heal (even His enemies) not harm and we are to follow his example. Two, that Jehoshua had such an intimate relationship with the Father that if He wanted He could have prayed for angels to be sent by the Father. Again, the Messiah refers to God as "My Father" denoting a unique relationship that He has with God. Yes God is our Father too, however Jehoshua is God's ONLY begotten Son which grants Him all authority over heaven and earth and by inheritance grants Him into all the counsels of God (Zechariah 6:13). Matthew 26:62-65 (KJV) 62And the high priest arose, and said unto him, Answerest thou nothing? what is it which these witness against thee?63But Jesus held his peace. And the high priest answered and said unto him, I adjure thee by the living God, that thou tell us whether thou be the Christ, the Son of God. People that passed by the crucifixion site mocked Jehoshua and threw in His face the claim of Him being the Son of God. In verse 40 we see the passers by say: "If thou be the Son of God, come down from the cross". This tells us that the whole controversy about Jehoshua centered around His claim of Sonship. It was never about Him claiming to be God but rather the Son of God. Certainly if He claimed to be God, the mockers would have had a field day with that. The chief priests, scribes and elders also mocked Jehoshua saying: "He trusted in God; let him deliver him now, if he will have him: for he said, I am the Son of God." Again, this brings home the truth of what really was the controversy surrounding Jehoshua. It was His claim to be God's Son not God. In fact, the Jewish religious leaders make a distinction between God and Jehoshua identifying Him to be claiming Sonship of the One God. This was part of their sarcasm, that if Jehoshua was really the Son of God then God would help Him out of the situation He was in (the cross). They even made mocking reference to Jehoshua putting His trust in God, which then shows us that Jehoshua referred to God as someone other than Himself during His ministry. Unfortunately today, many of Christendom's religious leaders mock the belief that Jehoshua is truly the Son of God in identity. It shows that these modern day mockers of the literal begotten Son of God would have been right there at calvary crucifying Jehoshua with their words and deeds. Nothing has changed folks, many of the religious leaders of the establishment Churches are sons and daughters of those who killed the prophets and God's Son. Matthew 27:50-54 (KJV) 50Jesus, when he had cried again with a loud voice, yielded up the ghost.51And, behold, the veil of the temple was rent in twain from the top to the bottom; and the earth did quake, and the rocks rent;52And the graves were opened; and many bodies of the saints which slept arose,53And came out of the graves after his resurrection, and went into the holy city, and appeared unto many.54Now when the centurion, and they that were with him, watching Jesus, saw the earthquake, and those things that were done, they feared greatly, saying, Truly this was the Son of God. What a powerful passage, after Jehoshua died on the cross, the earth quaked and the Roman centurion seeing all this said: "Truly this was the Son of God". Can you believe this? A Roman centurion had more faith in who Jehoshua is as the Son of God than the majority of Christian's today. Is it possible that this Roman centurion will rise in the resurrection to be a witness against Christian's who reject the literal Sonship of Messiah? Why is that a Gentile unbeliever can readily confess this, having not had the advantages of the scriptures at his disposal? Many modern Christian's have every advantage possible including the witness of the Father and Jehoshua Himself yet still refuse to believe in the true identity of Jehoshua as God's Son. Notice what preceded the Roman centurion's confession regarding the identity of the Messiah as the Son of God. "they feared greatly, saying, Truly this was the Son of God" The bible says that the centurion and those with him feared grealy prior to the centurion's confession of Jehoshua's Sonship. Maybe a healthy dose of the fear of God is in order for Christian's to realize that Jehoshua is truly the Son of God in identity. The fear of God is a healthy thing to have and it is this type of fear that brings one to repentance which results in the confession of Jehoshua being the Son of God (Acts 8:37, 1 John 4:15). It will be the fear of God at the judgement of the unjust that causes all to confess that Jehoshua is who He claimed to be, which is the Son of God. Fear often leads one to repent and the first step to repentance is beleiving and confessing that Jehoshua is the Son of God. This passage also shows us again what exactly the controversy about Jehoshua was all about. It was about His claim to being the Son of God not God. If His claim was to be God then likely the centurion would have confessed that very thing. The Roman centurion obviously was aware of Jehoshua claiming to be the Son of God and hence once he saw the supernatural events accompanying Jehoshua's death, he (the centurion) confessed the very thing that Jehoshua claimed to be. Jehoshua's claim to Sonship was not a secret and was the center point of the whole controversy surrounding His life and ministry. To remove the truth that Jehoshua was the true Son of God does away with the narrative of His life, ministry, death, resurrection and ascension and in essence the gospel itself. Jehoshua was killed for this very reason (Sonship claim) and not because He claimed to be God. To say otherwise is false and dishonest and goes against all the accusations and mockings made against Him and the confessions of those who believed in Him. It all centered around His claim to Messiahship and Sonship not any claim to being God. Mark 1:1 (KJV) 1The beginning of the gospel of Jesus Christ, the Son of God; "Gospel" good news, what Jehovah God has done for His people in sending them His only begotten Son. The term "Son of God" is the divine identity of Jehoshua and this reveals the intimate relationship He has with God who is His literal Father. God is the Father of all the saints however Jehoshua is God's ONLY begotten Son whereas we are adopted into the Family. Jehoshua being the Son of God also gives Him majestic Lordship over the demons as the book of Mark details. The whole Church gospel is unmistakably tied to Jehoshua being the Son of God, it is an unbroken chord, you cannot seperate the literal Sonship of Messiah from the gospel, once you do you are preaching a false gospel. Every bible discourse should be built around the Sonship of Messiah. Jehoshua Himself said that He would build His Church on the foundation of Peter's confession that He (Jehoshua) was the Messiah and the Son of the Living God. Any other foundation laid besides the Sonship of Messiah is a false sandy foundation that will be overcome by the gates of hell. The whole gospel of the Messianic/Christian faith is inseparable and rooted in the literal Sonship of Jehoshua. The gospel of the Kingdom is the Son of God's gospel, His good news! What is at the heart of the good news of His gospel? John 3:16 "For God so loved the world, that He gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever beleiveth in him should not persish, but have everlasting life." Jehoshua's Kingdom is rooted and founded on His Sonship and in fact His Kingdom is even called "the Kingdom of God's dear Son" Colossians 1:12-13 12Giving thanks unto the Father, which hath made us meet to be partakers of the inheritance of the saints in light:13Who hath delivered us from the power of darkness, and hath translated us into the kingdom of his dear Son: Brethren, There is no gospel without Jehoshua being the true begotten Son of Jehovah God. Any other gospel is a false replacement gospel. The Apostles gospel and doctrine once delivered to the saints is the doctrine and gospel of Jehoshua being the Son of God. Every teaching, discourse and study needs to centered on the Sonship of Messiah otherwise it is not the true gospel. This shows that the trinity and tri theist gospels are false gospels as they either deny (tri theism) or obscure (trinitarianism) the true literal begotten Sonship of Jehoshua. Mark 3:9-11 (KJV) 9And he spake to his disciples, that a small ship should wait on him because of the multitude, lest they should throng him.10For he had healed many; insomuch that they pressed upon him for to touch him, as many as had plagues.11And unclean spirits, when they saw him, fell down before him, and cried, saying, Thou art the Son of God. Here is another rebuking passage for those who deny the literal Sonship of Jehoshua, even the unclean spirits confess the Sonship of Messiah. Those who claim they have the holy spirit yet deny the literal Sonship of Jehoshua are less enlightened by the truth than the demonic spirits. Even in His state of humiliation Jehoshua related to His Father in such a way that He possessed glory and Lordship far above all spiritual powers. Mark 5:1-7 (KJV) 1And they came over unto the other side of the sea, into the country of the Gadarenes.2And when he was come out of the ship, immediately there met him out of the tombs a man with an unclean spirit,3Who had his dwelling among the tombs; and no man could bind him, no, not with chains:4Because that he had been often bound with fetters and chains, and the chains had been plucked asunder by him, and the fetters broken in pieces: neither could any man tame him.5And always, night and day, he was in the mountains, and in the tombs, crying, and cutting himself with stones.6But when he saw Jesus afar off, he ran and worshipped him,7And cried with a loud voice, and said, What have I to do with thee, Jesus, thou Son of the most high God? I adjure thee by God, that thou torment me not. Here is another rebuking passage for the Sonship deniers. A man with an unclean spirit comes and worships Jehoshua confessing and declaring Him to be the Son of the most high God. This shows us a couple of things. One, that the demons even know the true identity of Jehoshua in that He is the Son of the most high God. Notice that Jehoshua doesn't rebuke the statement of the unclean spirit and tell it that in reality "He (Jehoshua) is actually the most high God". No, Jehoshua is actually the Son of the most high God not the most high God. Secondly, Jehoshua's identity as the Son of the most high God is enough for Him to recieve worship. Many falsely say that if Jehoshua isn't the Almighty God then it would be wrong to worship Him. However, we see over and over again that those who worshipped Jehoshua were do soing because of His identity as the Son of God. Jehoshua Himself said that it is the Father's will that we are to honour the Son as we honour the Father (John 5:22-23). This should clarify that in order for Jehoshua to be worshipped He doesn't have to be God Almighty but rather Him being the Son of God Almighty is enough for Him to recieve worship. In verse 7 of Mark 5, the unclean spirit even adjures Jehoshua by God to not torment him. This shows that God was someone other than Jehoshua as He (Jehoshua) was asked to adjure God in regards to the unclean spirits request. Mark 9:2-7 (KJV) 2And after six days Jesus taketh with him Peter, and James, and John, and leadeth them up into an high mountain apart by themselves: and he was transfigured before them.3And his raiment became shining, exceeding white as snow; so as no fuller on earth can white them.4And there appeared unto them Elias with Moses: and they were talking with Jesus.5And Peter answered and said to Jesus, Master, it is good for us to be here: and let us make three tabernacles; one for thee, and one for Moses, and one for Elias.6For he wist not what to say; for they were sore afraid.7And there was a cloud that overshadowed them: and a voice came out of the cloud, saying, This is my beloved Son: hear him. This is the second time that the Father speaks audibly in the new testament and again it is a declaration that Jehoshua is His beloved Son. Brethren, do you believe the pastors of Christendom or do you believe the living God? Not just once but twice the Father audibly declares the true Sonship of Jehoshua. Jehoshua Himself said that in order to inherit eternal life one must keep them. Also, Jehoshua rejects the trinity/tri theist view of God and plainly says that God alone is good and He refers to God as someone other than Himself. Jehoshua didn't tell the rich ruler that "I am God" but rather that God is One not three and that this One singular being who is God is alone good. This doesn't mean that Jehoshua isn't good but that God the Father is the source of all goodness. We have seen in the scriptures that Jehoshua is the Son of God who receives everything good from His Father. Jehoshua wasn't a ventriloquist who sometimes spoke as a man and sometimes as God. Jehoshua spoke as one whole being with one will and one personality and He always spoke the absolute truth and the words of God (John 3:33-36). John the baptist says that if you don't believe the words of Jehoshua the wrath of God abides on you and Jehoshua plainly declared that the true God was the Father alone (Mark 12:28-34, John 17:3). Mark 10:17-21 (KJV) 17And when he was gone forth into the way, there came one running, and kneeled to him, and asked him, Good Master, what shall I do that I may inherit eternal life?18And Jesus said unto him, WHY CALLEST THOU ME GOOD? there is NONE GOOD but ONE, that is, GOD.19Thou knowest the commandments, Do not commit adultery, Do not kill, Do not steal, Do not bear false witness, Defraud not, Honour thy father and mother.20And he answered and said unto him, Master, all these have I observed from my youth.21Then Jesus beholding him loved him, and said unto him, One thing thou lackest: go thy way, sell whatsoever thou hast, and give to the poor, and thou shalt have treasure in heaven: and come, take up the cross, and follow me. Mark 12:28-34 (KJV) 28And one of the scribes came, and having heard them reasoning together, and perceiving that he had answered them well, asked him, Which is the first commandment of all?29And Jesus answered him, The first of all the commandments is, Hear, O Israel; The Lord our God is one Lord:30And thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind, and with all thy strength: this is the first commandment.31And the second is like, namely this, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself. There is none other commandment greater than these.32And the scribe said unto him, Well, Master, thou hast said the truth: for there is one God; and there is none other but he:33And to love him with all the heart, and with all the understanding, and with all the soul, and with all the strength, and to love his neighbour as himself, is more than all whole burnt offerings and sacrifices.34And when Jesus saw that he answered discreetly, he said unto him, Thou art not far from the kingdom of God. And no man after that durst ask him any question. Jehoshua and the scribe agree that God is one singular being and obviously it is the Father per Jehoshua's words in John 17:3. Jehoshua quotes the Shema (Deuteronomy 6:4) which is the creed of Israel that Jehovah God is One. The Churches of Christendom have polluted the truth of this beautiful creed by supplanting it with the blashemous Nicene-Contstantinople and Athanasian creed that say God is a trinity. Jehoshua Himself believes that there is only One God which He confessed to be the Father. This proves that the identity of Jehoshua is not as God Almighty but rather the Son of God Almighty. Any worship given to Jehoshua is due to His identity as the Son of God not Him being God Almighty. Mark 12:35-37 (KJV) 35And Jesus answered and said, while he taught in the temple, How say the scribes that Christ is the Son of David?36For David himself said by the Holy Ghost, The LORD said to my Lord, Sit thou on my right hand, till I make thine enemies thy footstool.37David therefore himself calleth him Lord; and whence is he then his son? And the common people heard him gladly. We have been studying about the Sonship of Messiah and seeing that His true identity is as God's Son. Some believe that Jehoshua being the Son of God is in reference solely to being born of the virgin Mary via the incarnation and that He began His existence at Bethlehem in others words, they believe that in identity Jehoshua is the Son of God but they deny His pre existence. They deny His pre existent Sonship but affirm His Sonship albeit starting in Bethlehem. This view is called the Unitarian view. They deny the role playing Sonship of the tri theists and some trintitarians but the issue with them is the pre existence of Jehoshua. The text above in Mark 12 gives us a strong indication that Jehoshua was far more than a man. Jehoshua's respect for the scriptures was such that He used it's authority to prove His pre existence and divinity. Jehoshua knew that prophets like David wrote by the direction of the Spirit of Jehovah (2 Peter 1:20-21). "The LORD said to my Lord". Both times Lord translates the same Greek word, but Jehoshua quoted Psalm 110:1, and in it's Hebrew text the first "LORD" is God's name, Jehovah, and the second is a title meaning "my Master". Though David was a king of Israel, he wrote of Messiah as the King of kings, seated at the right hand of Jehovah to reign with Him in glory (Mark 14:62). Therefore the Son of David, though human, must have been pre existent as the divine Son of God. He became the Son of God in a new way at Bethlehem. Though the leaders of Israel sought to destroy Jehoshua, He will reign over His enemies (Mark 12;36). |
