Jehoshua is on the throne of David in New Jerusalem and He is the King of a New Israel
Since Messianic's have died with the Son of God and therefore have been freed from obeying man made rules in an effort to please Messiah, why then live in a way that subjects one to self effort. Do not live in subjection to those things from which Messiah set you free (John 8:36). "Shew of wisdom in will worship, and humility." Relying on external religion and obedience to man made rules may appear to be wise and spiritually mature.
"Not in any honour to the satisfying of the flesh." While it appears to be wise, it cannot defeat the sinful longings of the flesh. You cannot curtail sin with asceticism. Colossians 2:20-23 (KJV) 20Wherefore if ye be dead with Christ from the rudiments of the world, why, as though living in the world, are ye subject to ordinances,21Touch not; taste not; handle not;22Which all are to perish with the using;) after the commandments and doctrines of men?23Which things have indeed a shew of wisdom in will worship, and humility, and neglecting of the body; not in any honour to the satisfying of the flesh. word "huparxis" (Strongs 5223) and means "proprietorship, wealth, goods, substance". The saints have wealth and goods awaiting them in heaven, this is why we can rejoice at the plundering of our goods in this life knowing we have a proprietorship in heaven where moth and rust don't destroy. The author of Hebrews says that we will be requitted of these eternal rewards of inheritance, heritage, wealth and goods if we don't lose our confidence (boldness, bluntness) that indeed we will receive these things at the coming of our King. Hebrews 10:36-37 (KJV) 36For ye have need of patience, that, after ye have done the will of God, ye might receive the promise.37For yet a little while, and he that shall come will come, and will not tarry. Messianic's must have patience and do the will of God in order to receive the promises of the rewards spoken of earlier i.e. inheritance and substance (wealth, goods). Even though we are in a waiting period for the Messiah to come He will not tarry. This calls for us to persevere and to be ready at any moment for the second advent of the Son of God. Hebrews 10:38 (KJV) 38Now the just shall live by faith: but if any man draw back, my soul shall have no pleasure in him. The author of Hebrews prepares for chapter 11 by introducing the doctrine of faith. Unbelief will cause one to perish whereas faith leads to eternal life. Hebrews 10:39 (KJV) 39But we are not of them who draw back unto perdition; but of them that believe to the saving of the soul. The author gives a positive statment to encourage the people to persevere. Much like the better things (6:9), the author expresses confidence that his readers will persevere to the salvation of their souls. Salvation is both instantaneous and a life long experience reaching consummation at the second advent of Jehoshua.
