Jehoshua is on the throne of David in New Jerusalem and He is the King of a New Israel
Today's Christian world is increasingly leaving behind the teachings of the Son of God and also minimizing Him being exclusively the way to God. This is a result of a false Jehoshua being created by the institutional Church and also promoted by the "world".
In this study I want to show that the teachings of Jehoshua Messiah are absolutely paramount to Christianity and that He is absolutely the only way to be in covenant relationship with God Almighty. Also, that obedience to His teachings are the only way to eternal life and the only to live a Christian life in the here and now. John 14:6 "Jehoshua saith unto him, I am the way, and the truth, and the life: no one cometh unto the Father, but by me." When Jehoshua says that He is the way He is referring to the way of life that He lived out during His earthly ministry. We are to pick up our cross and follow the Son of God. When He speaks of the truth He is speaking of His doctrine i.e. His commandments given during His ministry summed up in the sermon on the mount (Matthew 5-7). When Jehoshua says He is the life, He is speaking of the eternal life that is in Him that we can only get by being connected to Him as He is the vine and we are the branches. When we stay connected to Jehoshua by keeping His commandments He supplìes us with His Spirit which is the Spirit of truth. If we as the branches remain connected to the vine we will be raised up to eternal life on the last day. John 5:21 "For as the Father raiseth the dead and giveth them life, even so the Son also giveth life to whom he will." Just as the Father raised Jehoshua from the dead, Jehoshua will raise up His branches from the dead giving us life eternal. John 5:26 "For as the Father hath life in himself, even so gave he to the Son also to have life in himself" This life that the Father has is resurrection life and He has given that life to His Son, It is eternal life. In between verses 21 and 26 is the condition to get that eternal life at the resurrection of the last day: John 5:24 "Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that heareth my word, and believeth him that sent me, hath eternal life, and cometh not into judgment, but hath passed out of death into life." It is only those who hear the words of the Messiah and believes in His Father that has eternal life and won't come into judgment at the last day. Jehoshua's word is whatever He spoke during His earthly ministry. To hear His word isn't simply to believe it mentally but it's actually to do it by being obedient to it. Jehoshua even says that those who merely listen to His commandments but don't do them are foolish: Matthew 7:26 "And every one that heareth these words of mine, and doeth them not, shall be likened unto a foolish man, who built his house upon the sand" Contrary to the easy believests, just listening to the Son of God's teachings are not enough as you must actually perform them. Jehoshua's statement that He is the way, the truth and the life leaves absolutely no possibility that one can have a relationship with God without first going through Him. Jehoshua's lived out a way of life for us to follow, He spoke the truth of God's commandments for us to obey and eternal life is only found in Him. John 14:10 "Believest thou not that I am in the Father, and the Father in me? the words that I say unto you I speak not from myself: but the Father abiding in me doeth his works." We must always remember that Jehoshua wasn't speaking on His own accord but rather everything He spoke was given to Him by the Father. This makes Him the true prophet for of He spake His own words and doctrine then He wouldn't be the fulfillment of the prophet Moses spoke of in Deuteronomy 18: 18 I will raise them up a prophet from among their brethren, like unto thee; and I will put my words in his mouth, and he shall speak unto them all that I shall command him.19And it shall come to pass, that whosoever will not hearken unto my words which he shall speak in my name, I will require it of him. Jehovah God speaking through Moses says that He will put words and commands in the mouth of the prophet and that whosoever doesn't hearken (listen and obey) God Himself will require it of that person. In other words Jehovah God will judge you and His wrath will abide on you (John 3:3-6). John 14:12 "Verily, verily, I say unto you, he that believeth on me, the works that I do shall he do also; and greater [works] than these shall he do; because I go unto the Father." To believe on Jehoshua is not merely that He died on the cross for our sins and that He is the Son of God but it is to faith in what He taught and to keep it. The word "believeth" is rendered from the Greek word "pisteuo" (4100) and means "believe, commit unto, commit to one's trust, be committed unto, put in trust with, be commit to one's trust, to be persuaded of, fidelity" Certainly the word "believeth" includes intellectual faith as that is a no brainer but it carries the meaning also of fidelity (faithfulness) i.e. being faithful to that thing you are committed to. When we hear the word fidelity we think of the Marines and their slogan "Semper Fi". Can you imagine a Marine saying I believe what the Marines stand for but I don't have to follow it to be a Marine. This mindset would lead to the marine getting kicked out with a dishonorable discharge. Think of a marriage where a wife said I believe that I am married but I don't have to keep the vows. That woman would eventually find herself divorced. Remember the congregation of Messiah is both likened to an army and a bride. John 14:15-16 15 If ye love me, ye will keep my commandments.16 And I will pray the Father, and he shall give you another Comforter, that he may be with you for ever. The love of Messiah is based and rooted in keeping His commandments. Many American Christians simply ignore this passage and hold on to a lawless gospel. Basically the Messiah says that if you don't keep His commandments you don't really love Him and that is absolutely true. Just as in a marriage, a wife who doesn't keep her marriage vows doesn't really love her husband no matter how much he says he does. To remain in the Son of God's love one must keep His commandments which are His teachings all throughout His ministry summed up in the sermon on the mount. Receiving the holy Spirit is even conditional based upon keeping the commandments of the Son of God (verse 16). John 14:21 "He that hath my commandments, and keepeth them, he it is that loveth me: and he that loveth me shall be loved of my Father, and I will love him, and will manifest myself unto him." Jehoshua reiterates His declaration that whoever loves Him will keep His commandments. It is only those that keep His commandments that love Him and that is according to the Davidic King Himself. The obvious inference is also true which is that those who don't keep the commandments of Jehoshua don't love Him. And it is he that loves Jehoshua by keeping His commandments that will be loved of the Father and the Son. It will be those that keep the commandments of the Messiah that will have the Messiah revealed to them by His Spirit i.e. the comforter. Just as God's love is rooted in His commandments His Son's love is also rooted in His commandments. John 14:23 "Jehoshua answered and said unto him, If a man love me, he will keep my word: and my Father will love him, and we will come unto him, and make our abode with him." It can't be stated any more plainly as Jehoshua says those that keep His word (doctrine) are those that love Him and the opposite is also true in that those who don't keep His sayings don't truly love Him. The Son of God reiterates what He said in verse 21 which is that those who keep His word will be loved by the Father and both the Father and He will come and make their abode (dwelling place) with them. This will be done through the Holy Spirit which is also called the Spirit of God and Spirit of Messiah (Romans 8:8-11). John 14:24 "He that loveth me not keepeth not my words: and the word which ye hear is not mine, but the Father`s who sent me." Just in case anyone doubted that Jehoshua meant what He said He is very clear here as He says that those that don't keep His words (commandments) don't love Him. Again, the love of the Son of God is based and rooted in keeping His commandments. John 14:26 "But the Comforter, [even] the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in my name, he shall teach you all things, and bring to your remembrance all that I said unto you" What is the primary responsibility of the Holy Spirit? To represent Jehoshua and remind the church all things that He said unto His disciples. How is it then that there are churches and Christians that teach we don't have to obey the teachings of the Son of God and that Paul is the one whose doctrine we follow? The proof that you are being taught and led by the holy Spirit is that Jehoshua's teachings are being brought to your remembrance and is giving you a strong desire to keep them. If this is not the case then you are being led by a spirit of error which is the spirit of antichrist. John 15:3 " Already ye are clean because of the word which I have spoken unto you" Jehoshua's words cleanse us. His doctrine is His word. If you do not obey the teachings of the Son of God then you are unclean. John 15:6-7 6 If a man abide not in me, he is cast forth as a branch, and is withered; and they gather them, and cast them into the fire, and they are burned. 7 If ye abide in me, and my words abide in you, ask whatsoever ye will, and it shall be done unto you. How do we abide in the Messiah to avoid being cast into the lake of fire? We let His words (commandments) abide in us. This is not just listening to His words but actually doing them as Jehoshua says those who only listen but don't keep the sayings of His are fools. When we keep the words of Jehoshua we then can confidently go before the Father and ask anything in Jehoshua's name. John 15:9-10 9 Even as the Father hath loved me, I also have loved you: abide ye in my love. 10 If ye keep my commandments, ye shall abide in my love; even as I have kept my Father`s commandments, and abide in his love. How do we abide in the love of the Son of God? Jehoshua gives us the plain answer, we keep His commandments. Jehoshua actually says that to abide in His love is conditional and the condition is that we keep His commandments. You sure don't hear this in Church do you? John 14:12-14 12 This is my commandment, that ye love one another, even as I have loved you.13 Greater love hath no man than this, that a man lay down his life for his friends.14 Ye are my friends, if ye do the things which I command you. Many use verse 12 to say that the only commandment given by Jehoshua is that we are to love each other, however they fail to realize that this is not just an abstract commandment but the Son of God actually gave specific instructions on how to carry this love out in a real life way. In fact, these lukewarm Christians that want to get out of any hard teachings of the Son of God even fail at this commandment in face value. What kind of love does Jehoshua command us to have for one another? The type of love that Jehoshua displayed which is a love that is willing to lay down it's life for it's friends. It is a self denying sacrificial love that esteems others higher than itself. It is not a sunday church type of love where you smile at people and speak Christianese and then go on about the rest of your week barely even thinking about the person. Jehoshua calls us His friends however this also is conditional and the condition is if we keep His commandments. John 15:17 "These things I command you, that ye may love one another." Again, this is not a churchy type of love but a love that passes all understanding even willing to lay down your life for your friends. John 15:20 "Remember the word that I said unto you, A servant is not greater than his lord. If they persecuted me, they will also persecute you; if they kept my word, they will keep yours also." One of the most important words that Jehoshua spoke to us was that we are not above Him and we will be persecuted if we are keeping His commandments those who keep the words of Messiah will also keep the words of the apostles and our words as well if we keep the commandments of the Son of God. John 15;22-23 22 If I had not come and spoken unto them, they had not had sin: but now they have no excuse for their sin. 23 He that hateth me hateth my Father also. Christians particularly have no excuse for not obeying the teachings of Jehoshua as they have heard His word through the reading of scripture. Remember, the proof that we love Jehoshua is in the keeping of His commandments. That is also what our love for God and His children is based on, keeping His commandments (1 John 5:2-3). So when Jehoshua says that those who hate Him hate His Father also then He speaking of those who don't keep His and His Father's commandments. John 15:26 "But when the Comforter is come, whom I will send unto you from the Father, [even] the Spirit of truth, which proceedeth from the Father, he shall bear witness of me" Again, the function of the holy spirit is to bear witness of the Son of God. This bearing witness includes bringing to remembrance the teachings of Jehoshua. Anyone who says they have the holy Spirit but does not speak of the teachings of the Son of God is a liar and being led by the spirit of error which is the antichrist spirit. This implicates many today in the Church who say that you don't actually have to keep the Messiah's commandments. John 16:33 "These things have I spoken unto you, that in me ye may have peace. In the world ye have tribulation: but be of good cheer; I have overcome the world." Everything that Jehoshua spoke to His disciples and others were for our peace. If we follow them we will overcome the world.
