Jehoshua is on the throne of David in New Jerusalem and He is the King of a New Israel
There is some confusion in the Hebrew roots, Messianic, Adventist, and other Sabbath keeping movements on what commandments are being referred to in the gospel of John as well as the beloved apostle's epistles. The common understanding of the above groups is that when the commandments are mentioned in the gospel of John that it is speaking of the 10 commandments. However, there is a problem with that understanding as in the context of the gospel of John it is referring to the commandments of Jehoshua. The above law keeping groups falsely assert that it was Jehoshua that gave the 10 commandments at Sinai, yet no single scripture in all the bible says such a thing. It's this false assertion that makes these groups think that when the gospel of John refers to Jehoshua's commandments that it is referring to the 10 commandments. If it wasn't Jehoshua that gave the 10 commandments at Sinai then this changes everything in how we understand the word "commandments" in relationship to Jehoshua. Remember, Jehoshua gave commandments all throughout his Kingdom mission most notably in the famous sermon on the mount. So when Jehoshua says: "If ye love me, ye will keep my commandments" (John 14:15) It should be understood that his commandments are exactly the ones he gave during his kingdom mission. Since Jehoshua wasn't present when the 10 commandments and law were given to Moses the above verse could not be possibly talking about those. However, Jehoshua directly gave an abundant number of commandments throughout his mission. These are the commandments that Jehoshua is referring to in the above verse. Many groups identify Jehoshua as the law giver at Sinai to the false pre-existent doctrine of mainstream Christianity. Even if Jehoshua was pre-existent nothing in scripture states that he was present at Sinai when Moses was given the law. In Deuteronomy 18 it was prophesied that Jehoshua would be given commandments to speak by Jehovah God. If these were the same commandments given to Moses then why would God need to raise up another prophet just to reiterate what was already spoken by Moses? Deuteronomy 18:15-21 15 Jehovah thy God will raise up unto thee a prophet from the midst of thee, of thy brethren, like unto me; unto him ye shall hearken; 16 according to all that thou desiredst of Jehovah thy God in Horeb in the day of the assembly, saying, Let me not hear again the voice of Jehovah my God, neither let me see this great fire any more, that I die not. 17 And Jehovah said unto me, They have well said that which they have spoken.18 I will raise them up a prophet from among their brethren, like unto thee; and I will put my words in his mouth, and he shall speak unto them all that I shall command him. 19 And it shall come to pass, that whosoever will not hearken unto my words which he shall speak in my name, I will require it of him. Tie apostolic ekklesia taught that Jehoshua was that prophet spoken of in Deuteronomy. The Son of God was raised up within the midst of his brethren Israel and was given words/commandments in his mouth by Jehovah God to speak. Those who would not hearken to the words/commandments/teaching of Jehoshua would have it required of them by Jehovah, or as John the Baptist says the wrath of God will abide on them. This is serious because if Jehoshua taught the Mosaic law and we are not keeping it then the wrath of God is abiding on us. Jehovah said that this prophet would speak His (Jehovah's) words in His (Jehovah's) name meaning the prophet would have the authority of God Himself behind his words and commandments. Whatever Jehoshua taught is what constitutes the commandments that he is referring to in John 14:15. John 14:21 "He that hath my commandments, and keepeth them, he it is that loveth me: and he that loveth me shall be loved of my Father, and I will love him, and will manifest myself unto him" Again, these are not the Sinai commandments that Jehoshua is referring to but the actual commandments that he gave throughout his mission which are summed up in the sermon on the mount. The fact that these commandments referenced by Jehoshua are not the Sinai commandments is especially obvious once you understand that Jehoshua didn't come into existence as a literal being until his birth. In fact, the gospel teaching of Jehoshua didn't begin until he was baptized at 30 years old: Mark 1:1-2 1The beginning of the gospel of Jehoshua Messiah, the Son of God. 2 Even as it is written in Isaiah the prophet, Behold, I send my messenger before thy face, Who shall prepare thy way.3The voice of one crying in the wilderness, Make ye ready the way of Jehovah, Make his paths straight. Mark connects the beginning of Jehoshua's gospel with his baptism by John as do other passages. This is important to understand also because many of the groups above teach that everything in the bible is a commandment of Jehoshua as if he somehow gave them himself. Clearly the bible teaches that Jehoshua did not teach until he was 30 years of age therefore not every commandment in the bible is a commandment of the Son of God. John 14:23-24 23 Jehoshua answered and said unto him, If a man love me, he will keep my word: and my Father will love him, and we will come unto him, and make our abode with him. 24 He that loveth me not keepeth not my words: and the word which ye hear is not mine, but the Father`s who sent me. Jehoshua's word is his commandments, notice the close proximity between these verses and verse 21 where he says that he that hath his commandments will be loved by himself and the Father. Jehoshua says the same thing here about those who keep his words in that they will be loved by him and the Father. The commandments of Jehoshua are exactly the same as the words that he spoke. This shows that the commandments mentioned in verses 15 and 21 are not the law of Moses as he didn't speak those words but Moses did and the angel who gave them. Jehoshua said that the word which he spoke was not his own but the Father's. This fits Deuteronomy 18 where Jehovah says He will put His words in the prophets mouth. Hebrews 1:1-2 1 God, having of old time spoken unto the fathers in the prophets by divers portions and in divers manners, 2 hath at the end of these days spoken unto us in his Son, whom he appointed heir of all things, through whom also he made the worlds; If Jehoshua was around in the old testament giving out commandments then this passage doesn't fit with that concept. The author of Hebrews clearly says that it was at the end of these days that Jehoshua spoke to us (Israel). When did Jehovah God start speaking through His Son? Clearly after Jehoshua was baptized at the Jordan river and began teaching at the age of 30 years old. This shows and proves that the last days started back in the first century in connection with the baptism of the Son of God. John 14;26 "But the Comforter, even the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in my name, he shall teach you all things, and bring to your remembrance all that I said unto you" The job description of the Angel of the Holy Spirit is to remind the ekklesia of the words that Jehoshua spake. Remember, Jehoshua didn't preach the law of Moses but rather spoke specific commandments given him by the Father. John 14:30-31 30 I will no more speak much with you, for the prince of the world cometh: and he hath nothing in me; 31 but that the world may know that I love the Father, and as the Father gave me commandment, even so I do. Arise, let us go hence. What was this commandment that the Father have the Son? It was to offer himself up as the atonement for Israel. This was the context of Jehoshua's Statement and I point this out to show that just because the word commandment is used in a text it doesn't necessarily denote the 10 commandments. The context determines what the commandments are that are being spoken of. John 15:10 "If ye keep my commandments, ye shall abide in my love; even as I have kept my Father`s commandments, and abide in his love." Again, we have to determine what commandments Jehoshua gave before we jump to conclusions. Jehoshua 15:3 "Already ye are clean because of the word which I have spoken unto you" Here are the commandments which Jehoshua is talking about in verse 10, it is the word that He spoke to the apostles. We do not have to guess at what Jehoshua instructed his apostles it is right there in the gospels for us and it wasn't the law of Moses. The sermon on the mount is the core of Jehoshua's commandments. John 15:12 "This is my commandment, that ye love one another, even as I have loved you" This is the overall concept of Jehoshua's commandments which is that the brethren of the Kingdom love one another. Jehoshua did not preach the Mosaic law, he was not a Moses revivalist preacher. Jehoshua was preaching a doctrine of sacrificial love which is the law of the new covenant. Galatians 6:2 "Bear ye one another`s burdens, and so fulfil the law of Christ." This is what the law of the Son of God is all about, bearing one another's burdens. Jehoshua came to preach the Jehoshua covenant which is rooted in the Abrahamic, Davidic and new covenant which is not according to the Sinai covenant. John 15:13-14 13 Greater love hath no man than this, that a man lay down his life for his friends. 14 Ye are my friends, if ye do the things which I command you. If love is the heart of Jehoshua's commandments and the greatest of this love to lay down one's life for his friends this is what the commandments of the Son of God are all about i.e. sacrifical love. Jehoshua then says if we are his friends we will keep his commandments. These commandments are not the Mosaic law but rather it is the law of sacrificial love for one's brother or sister in the faith. Jehoshua didn't come preaching the ritual commands of the law of Moses i.e. the outward observances such as touch not taste not, keep this day holy keep that day holy etc. You won't find this emphasis in any of his sermons. But what you will find is the instruction to love your brother and sister by serving them selflessly. 1 John 5:9-11 9 Herein was the love of God manifested in us, that God hath sent his only begotten Son into the world that we might live through him.10 Herein is love, not that we loved God, but that he loved us, and sent his Son [to be] the propitiation for our sins.11 Beloved, if God so loved us, we also ought to love one another. John in his epistles continues the theme that sacrifice is at the heart of true godly love as he says that the evidence of God''s love is that He sent His only begotten Son into the world (Israel) that we (Israelites) would live through Jehoshua. This means that just as Jehoshua was resurrected to eternal life that we also would be resurrected through our faith in the resurrected Son of God. We also live through Jehoshua now as Paul says we are united to him (Jehoshua) in the likeness of his resurrection (Romans 6:5). Notice what John says here which is that we didn't love God first (doing the works of the law) but rather He loved us first be sending His only begotten Son to be the mercy seat (propitiation) for our (Israel's) sins. Again, John equates love with sacrifice of oneself for the benefit of one's friends. This is what Jehoshua said in John 15:13. In verse 10, John is talking about the Father's love for us by offering His only begotten Son Jehoshua to die on the cross and shed his blood for our sins so that we can be atoned for. Because of this great love of the Father for us we should love one another (brethren). John 15:17-19 17 These things I command you, that ye may love one another. 18 If the world hateth you, ye know that it hath hated me before [it hated] you. 19 If ye were of the world, the world would love its own: but because ye are not of the world, but I chose you out of the world, therefore the world hateth you. Again, notice the context of what these things are that Jehoshua commanded the apostles. The things that Jehoshua was commanding them to do was to love one another which goes back to verse 13 for the ultimate fulfilling of this love commandment which is to lay down one's life for his/her friends. Nowhere in the context of John 15 is the law of Moses. Also, part of the commandments of Jehoshua is nit to love the world and to be willing to be hated by it. Being hated by the world is evidence that one is a true follower of the Son of God. If a so called Christian/Messianic is not hated by the world then they are not a true follower of the Messiah as Jehoshua says that we will (not maybe) be hated by the world. Jehoshua chose us out of the world and therefore the world hates those who are truly God's elect. Those who are loved and popular in the world prove that they have not been chosen by Jehovah God and are merely performing religion. This accurately describes the Hebrew roots folks who have traded a true Kingdom new covenant relationship with Jehoshua and his commandments for the law of Moses and all it's outward observances. The world loves them as the world feels safe and secure with ritualistic religion as the New covenant Kingdom gospel shakes people to the core and is earth shattering in it's power. John 15:20-22 20 Remember the word that I said unto you, A servant is not greater than his lord. If they persecuted me, they will also persecute you; if they kept my word, they will keep yours also. 21 But all these things will they do unto you for my name`s sake, because they know not him that sent me. 22 If I had not come and spoken unto them, they had not had sin: but now they have no excuse for their sin. This about sums up what Jehoshua means when he refers to his commandments which is that we must suffer for his name as he himself did. We are not above our King and if they persecuted him they will persecute us. The commandment of Jehoshua is not going back to the law of Moses but rather we must die to the world and not love it and pick up our cross and drink the cup of suffering. The commandments of the Son of God are the words (sermon on the mount) which he spoke not the Sinai covenant (law of Moses). Notice that the ones guilty of sin are the ones who have heard Jehoshua's word that he spoke. Sin is the transgression of the law and sin as defined by Jehoshua are those who hear his words and don't keep them. This means that the law is now defined by the words of Jehoshua not the Mosaic system of law. This is why Jehoshua said that if they keep his word (commandments) they will also keep the word of his apostles as his true apostles preach the doctrine (teachings, word, commandments) of the Son of God. Nothing in chapter 14 or 15 even remotely suggest that Jehoshua is talking about the law of Moses. John 16:1-3 1 These things have I spoken unto you, that ye should not be caused to stumble.2 They shall put you out of the synagogues: yea, the hour cometh, that whosoever killeth you shall think that he offereth service unto God.3 And these things will they do, because they have not known the Father, nor me. One of the things we have to consider in relationship to Jehoshua telling the apostles that they will be cast out of the Synagogues is the reason for them being cast out. Obviously, the primary reason is their preaching that Jehoshua was the Messiah. However we also get strong clues as to the other reason at the stoning of Stephen: Acts 6:11-14 11 Then they suborned men, who said, We have heard him speak blasphemous words against Moses, and [against] God. 12 And they stirred up the people, and the elders, and the scribes, and came upon him, and seized him, and brought him into the council, 13 and set up false witnesses, who said, This man ceaseth not to speak words against this holy place, and the law: 14 for we have heard him say, that this Jesus of Nazareth shall destroy this place, and shall change the customs which Moses delivered unto us. Verse 11 gives us another indication of why the Messianics would eventually be cast out of the Synagogues. They were accused of speaking against Moses. They were also accused of speaking against the temple (holy place) and the law of Moses (verse 13). This also indicates the reasons for their eventual expulsion from the Synagogues and even their martyrdom as we see with Stephen in chapter 7. We see from verse 11 that the accusations against Stephen were not true in regards to speaking against Moses, the holy place and the law. However, where there is smoke there is usually fire and Stephen was preaching that the new covenant had arrived and that Jehovah God doesn't dwell in buildings made with hands: Acts 7:48-49 48 Howbeit the Most High dwelleth not in [houses] made with hands; as saith the prophet, 49 The heaven is my throne, And the earth the footstool of my feet: What manner of house will ye build me? saith the Lord: Or what is the place of my rest? This refers to the temple (houses) and the holy of holies (place of my rest). This isn't speaking against the existing temple or holy place but rather teaching that those things are now the ekklesia and that the holy of holies is in heaven where Jehovah's throne is. Stephen was preaching exactly what Jehoshua told the woman at the well: "Jehoshua saith unto her, Woman, believe me, the hour cometh, when neither in this mountain, nor in Jerusalem, shall ye worship the Father" (John 4:21). The Son of God clearly states that the place of worship will no longer have any significance in the new covenant era and Stephen was simply reiterating the teaching of the Messiah regarding this matter. This doesn't mean that Stephen was preaching against those things that he was accused of but rather just teaching that a new era had arrived in Jehoshua Messiah. These are the reasons the early believers were expelled from the Synagogues. John 16:13 "Howbeit when he, the Spirit of truth, is come, he shall guide you into all the truth: for he shall not speak from himself; but what things soever he shall hear, [these] shall he speak: and he shall declare unto you the things that are to come" The very function of the Angel of the Holy Spirit is to is to guide us into all truth of what Jehoshua taught during his earthly mission. We will now look at what is meant by the commandments in the epistles of John. Is John talking about the law of Moses or the doctrine of Messiah (Jehoshua's teachings)? 1 John 1:1-3 1 That which was from the beginning, that which we have heard, that which we have seen with our eyes, that which we beheld, and our hands handled, concerning the Word of life 2 (and the life was manifested, and we have seen, and bear witness, and declare unto you the life, the eternal [life], which was with the Father, and was manifested unto us); 3 that which we have seen and heard declare we unto you also, that ye also may have fellowship with us: yea, and our fellowship is with the Father, and with his Son Jesus Christ: This is an important passage of scripture to understand because it sets the tone for the passages regarding the commandments that we are going to look at. What beginning is John talking about above in verse 1? Most mainstream Christians automatically think it is talking about Genesis but the beginning that John is talking about is connected with that which John and the other apostles heard. We then have to ask, when did the apostles hear the word of life? It was only after Jehoshua's baptism that they heard the word of life as that is when they first beheld him physically as they did not hang out with him prior to that. Also, he only started preaching the gospel of the Kingdom after he got baptized at the age of 30 years old. Verse 3, "that which we have seen and heard", again this could only refer to after Jehoshua's baptism as that us precisely when he began his gospel preaching and when he called the apostles. Jehoshua's teachings were that eternal life that was manifested to the apostles as it was only after his baptism that they began to fellowship with him. Also in verse 3 John says that whatever was declared to him and the other apostles is being delcared to the ekklesia. The very purpose of the word declared to the apostles which in turn is declared to the ekklesia is that they would have fellowship with the Father and His Son Jehoshua Messiah. The word of life that was manifested to the apostles is centered upon the fact that Jehoshua is the Son of Jehovah God. Let's remember this as we go through the rest of the epistles concerning John's mention of the commandments. 1 John 1:5 "And this is the message which we have heard from him and announce unto you, that God is light, and in him is no darkness at all" The message of the word of life taught by Jehoshua was that Jehovah God is light and that there is no darkness at all in him. The Son of God's mission was to declare the righteous character of his Father and his God Jehovah. All you have to to is go to the gospels and see what Jehoshua preached about the character of the Father and it wasn't the law of Moses: John 1:17 "For the law was given through Moses; grace and truth came through Jehoshua Messiah" Why John say this if Jehoshua preached the law of Moses? John is clearly making a distinction between the law of Moses and what Jehoshua preached, which is the gospel of grace and truth. 1 John 2:3-4 3 And hereby we know that we know him, if we keep his commandments. 4 He that saith, I know him, and keepeth not his commandments, is a liar, and the truth is not in him; What commandments are these? And whose commandments is John referring to, the Father or the Son? Remember, the context determines what is meant by the commandments as well as if these commandments are the ones the Father gave at Sinai or Jehoshua gave during his Kingdom mission. The first two verses indicate that the commandments mentioned above are the Son's, however it is not crystal clear. Thankfully the verses that come after the above pasaage show us what commandments John is referring to: 1 John 2:5-6 5 but whoso keepeth his word, in him verily hath the love of God been perfected. Hereby we know that we are in him 6 he that saith he abideth in him ought himself also to walk even as he walked. Who spoke the word? It was Jehoshua so John is referring to the teachings of the Messiah when he says "whoso keepeth his word". In verse 6, we have our answer as to what John is talking about when he mentions the commandments earlier. John says that we ought to walk as Jehoshua walked if we claim that we abide in him. Clearly, it is Jehoshua's doctrine (teachings) that are in John's mind when he says that those who keep his commandments are those who know him (verse 3). The opposite is true in that those who don't keep Jehoshua's commandments don't know him. This is exactly what Jehoshua taught in John chapter 15 and he uses the same word "abideth" that John uses in verse 6 above. This shows that the commandments here in the epistle of John are the same as the commandments in the gospel of John and those commandments are the words that Jehoshua spoke. It has nothing to do with keeping the law of Moses. Both Jehoshua and John use the word abideth to denote our relationship with Jehoshua and that the evidence that we abide in him is if we keep his commandments. 1 John 2:7-8 7 Beloved, no new commandment write I unto you, but an old commandment which ye had from the beginning: the old commandment is the word which ye heard. 8 Again, a new commandment write I unto you, which thing is true in him and in you; because the darkness is passing away, and the true light already shineth. Again, the context of the epistle determines what commandments John is talking about. Notice that the commandment John is talking about is what they (the ekklesia) had from the beginning. The question is what beginning? Even the law of Moses wasn't from the literal beginning of creation so we cannot automatically assume John is talking about that. If we go back to what I said is an important verse to understand (1 John 1:1) then we know that John's beginning is not about creation because very little in the way of commandments was given and those commandments were for Adam and Eve not the new covenant ekklesia. John's beginning in 1 John 1:1 is the beginning of Jehoshua's evangelism as that is exactly when the apostles began to behold Jehoshua, fellowship with him and hear him. In verse 7 above John says that this old commandment is the word that they heard from the beginning. When John uses the word "word" in connection with the commandments then that is clearly referring to the teachings of the Son of God not the law of Moses. Verse 8, the new commandment is the commandment that Jehoshua gave his apostles: John 13:34-35 34 A new commandment I give unto you, that ye love one another; even as I have loved you, that ye also love one another. 35 By this shall all men know that ye are my disciples, if ye have love one to another. The new commandment that John is referring to in his epistle is exactly the new commandment that Jehoshua gave the apostles. Again, it has nothing to do with the law of Moses but the actual teachings of Jehoshua. This is the what Jehoshua means by his new commandment of love: John 15:12-14 12 This is my commandment, that ye love one another, even as I have loved you. 13 Greater love hath no man than this, that a man lay down his life for his friends. 14 Ye are my friends, if ye do the things which I command you. This is the new commandment, that the love we love one another with is the sacrifical love of laying down one's life for his brother or sister. Jehoshua says that we are his friends if we do the thing that he commands which is to be willing to lay down our life for the brethren and that is the new commandment. See how all of this ties in together concerning the use of the word "commandments" when used by John throughout his writings? It's not about keeping the law of Moses but obeying Jehoshua's commandments regarding self denying love. Continuing in verse 8 John says that the darkness was passing away and the true light was shining as Jehoshua is the light of the world and shone brightly throughout his Kingdom mission. The Father was translating people from darkness to the marvelous light of the Son of God's Kingdom so Satan was losing territory and subjects (darkness passing way). The Kingdom of Jehoshua was advancing and spoiling the strong man's palace (Satan's Kingdom). This fits in perfectly with the 1st seal of Revelation 5: Revelation 6:2 "And I saw, and behold, a white horse, and he that sat thereon had a bow; and there was given unto him a crown: and he came forth conquering, and to conquer" The more the Kingdom of Jehoshua Messiah advances and conquers the more the light shines and the darkness of Satan's Kingdom passes away. Isaiah 9:1-2 1 But there shall be no gloom to her that was in anguish. In the former time he brought into contempt the land of Zebulun and the land of Naphtali; but in the latter time hath he made it glorious, by the way of the sea, beyond the Jordan, Galilee of the nations. 2 The people that walked in darkness have seen a great light: they that dwelt in the land of the shadow of death, upon them hath the light shined. In the days before the Messiah began his mission the land of Northern Israel was in darkness and the arrival of the Son of God lightened them. Jehoshua was the light that shined in the darkness of Israel. This light was rooted in the Davidic Kingship and Kingdom which is what Isaiah 9 leads up to: 6 For unto us a child is begotten, unto us a son is given; and the government shall be upon his shoulder: and his name shall be called Wonderful, Counsellor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace. 7 Of the increase of his government and of peace there shall be no end, upon the throne of David, and upon his kingdom, to establish it, and to uphold it with justice and with righteousness from henceforth even for ever. The zeal of Jehovah of hosts will perform this. Verse 6 prophesies of Jehoshua's conception (begetting) and the government upon his shoulders is the same one Eliakim had on his shoulders which is the Davidic Kingdom. Jehoshua has the keys of David (Revelation 3:7). Verse 7, the light spoken of in the first two verses of Isaiah 9 are rooted in the throne of David which is the throne that the light of God's Kingdom will shine forth in justice and righteousness. Jehovah's zeal made sure that this took place when He resurrected Jehoshua and set him upon His right hand (Psalm 110:1). It is Jehoshua's new covenant Davidic Kingdom that is the marvelous light that was brought to the darkness of Israel and this Kingdom is forever and the more it spreads the more the existing darkness passes away. Now let's get back to the epistles of John, if you the verses following verses 7 and 8 then you will see that the context of the commandments being spoken of by John are all about loving our brethren and not hating them. Verses 18-26 of 1 John 2 talk about the spirit of antichrist which is those who deny that Jehoshua is the Son of God. Remember the commandment of the Father? 1 John 3:22-24 22 and whatsoever we ask we receive of him, because we keep his commandments and do the things that are pleasing in his sight. 23 And this is his commandment, that we should believe in the name of his Son Jehoshua Messiah, and love one another, even as he gave us commandment. 24 And he that keepeth his commandments abideth in him, and he in him. And hereby we know that he abideth in us, by the Spirit which he gave us. The commandment of the Father according to John isn't about the law of Moses but rather it is to believe in the name of His Son Jehoshua Messiah. The phrase "believe in the name of his Son" means to believe in the identity, authority and character of his Son. Essential to Jehoshua's identity and authority is that he is the only begotten Son of Jehovah God. In order to keep the commandment of God we must believe and have faith (loyalty) that Jehoshua is the Son of God. The other commandment we are to obey from the Father is that we are to love one another. Jehoshua detailed how we are to do this throughout his kingdom mission and this is summed up in the sermon on the mount. 1 John 3:4-5 4 Every one that doeth sin doeth also lawlessness; and sin is lawlessness. 5 And ye know that he was manifested to take away sins; and in him is no sin. This is where many Hebrew roots folks get tripped up as they eqaute te sin and lawlessness being spoken of here as the breaking of the law of Moses. However, we know that there was sin in this world before the law of Moses was given. The law of Moses was not given until Sinai 430 years after Jehovah made a covenant with Abraham (Galatians 3:17). Sin entered in by Adam long before the law of Moses was even around. Sin is disobedience to Jehovah's commandments. Of course, what Jehovah's commandments are must be understood with the administration (dispensation) that is being discussed. The breaking of law of Moses would have been the definition of sin within that old covenant dispensation. In the new covenant, lawlessness and sin is defined by the breaking of the commandments given by Jehoshua. Before the old covenant, lawlessness and sin would have been defined by disobeying the specific commandments given by Jehovah to that person or group of persons in specific situations. 1 John 3:11 "For this is the message which ye heard from the beginning, that we should love one another" This is the same as the commandment John's audience heard from the beginning which is a commandment about loving the brethren. The message (word) of Jehoshua is the same as his commandments. These are the commandments of God in the new covenant i.e. the words that Jehoshua spake. This is consistent all throughout John's writings, it has nothing to do with the law of Moses as that is not what Jehoshua taught (John 1:18). 1 John 3:17-18 17 But whoso hath the world`s goods, and beholdeth his brother in need, and shutteth up his compassion from him, how doth the love of God abide in him? 18.[My] Little children, let us not love in word, neither with the tongue; but in deed and truth. This is the summation of the commandment of Jehovah God for us in the new covenant which is to show practical love for our brethren. We are to supply the physical needs of our brethren when we have the substance to do so and they are in need. Paul says the same thing in terms of what consists of the law of the Messiah: Galatians 6:2 "Bear ye one another`s burdens, and so fulfil the law of Christ" Bearing each other's burdens can be emotional or physical. This fulfills the law of the Son of God Jehoshua. 1 John 4:7-8 7 Beloved, let us love one another: for love is of God; and every one that loveth is begotten of God, and knoweth God. 8 He that loveth not knoweth not God; for God is love. John continues with the theme of love which is the commandment given by Jehovah God through His only begotten Son Jehoshua (1 John 2:7-8, Deuteronomy 18:15-21). Jehovah God is love it's the very easy essence of His character. The evidence that we are begotten of Jehovah is that we example His character of love. The evidence that we are not begotten of Jehovah God is that we do not love our brothers and sisters. This is the very context of the commandments spoken of in the epistle of John which is love. 1 John 4:9-11 9 Herein was the love of God manifested in us, that God hath sent his only begotten Son into the world that we might live through him. 10 Herein is love, not that we loved God, but that he loved us, and sent his Son [to be] the propitiation for our sins. 11 Beloved, if God so loved us, we also ought to love one another. God's love was made evident (manifested) in us in that He sent His only begotten Son into the world to bring eternal life to us and that we would live now in this life through His power. Jehovah God loved us first and again that love was made evident in Him sending His only begotten Son Jehoshua to be a propitiation (mercy seat) for our sins. Jehoshua fulfilled the day of atonement by sprinkling his blood on the mercy seat on the ark in New Jerusalem as the ultimate act of love. This was the commandment of the Father given to the Son and both showed their love in the atonement. 1 John 4:12 "No man hath beheld God at any time: if we love one another, God abideth in us, and his love is perfected in us" This highlights the very meaning of the commandments mentioned by John in this epistle and that is the commandment to love each other with the same sacrifical love that Jehoshua loved us with. Loving each other in the way that Jehoshua loved us is the evidence that Jehovah's Spirit dwells in us. 1 John 4:18-19 18 There is no fear in love: but perfect love casteth out fear, because fear hath punishment; and he that feareth is not made perfect in love. 19 We love, because he first loved us. How did Jehovah love us first? By what John mentioned earlier in the passage and that is by Jehovah sending Jehoshua to be the propitiation (mercy seat) for our sins. Jehovah sent His Son to bring us into the new covenant so that we would live in covenant relationship with Him (Jehovah). 1 John 4:20-21 20 If a man say, I love God, and hateth his brother, he is a liar: for he that loveth not his brother whom he hath seen, cannot love God whom he hath not seen.21 And this commandment have we from him, that he who loveth God love his brother also. Verse 21 sums up the commandment we have from him (Jehoshua) and that commandment is to love our brothers and sisters in the Kingdom. Again, nothing here about the law of Moses but everything about the atonement on the cross as the evidence of God's love for us and the example that we are to follow in having sacrificial love for each other as brethren. 1 John 5:1-3 1 Whosoever believeth that Jehoshua is the Messiah is begotten of God: and whosoever loveth him that begat loveth him also that is begotten of him. 2 Hereby we know that we love the children of God, when we love God and do his commandments. 3 For this is the love of God, that we keep his commandments: and his commandments are not grievous. God's primary commandment for us is to believe that Jehoshua is His only begotten Son. See John 3:16-18 for proof of this. In fact, the very purpose of John's writings is that we would believe that Jehoshua is the Son of God. Keep this in mind when John talks about keeping the commandments of God. John is not referring to the law of Moses but rather believing that Jehoshua is begotten of Jehovah God. John says that God's commandments are not greivous which proves these commandments are not the the law of Moses since that law was described as a yoke that neither the apostles nor thier forefathers could bear (Acts 15). The love of God is that we keep His commandments which in John's gospels and epistles is to believe that Jehoshua is the Son of God and that we are to love our brethren with the same love that God and Jehoshua loved us with. 1 John 5:9-10 9 If we receive the witness of men, the witness of God is greater: for the witness of God is this, that he hath borne witness concerning his Son. 10 He that believeth on the Son of God hath the witness in him: he that believeth not God hath made him a liar; because he hath not believed in the witness that God hath borne concerning his Son. The witness of Jehovah God that He bore witness concerning Jehoshua is that He begat him in the womb of Mary (Luke 1:29-36) and anointed him as the King of Israel at the Jordan river (baptism). Also, Jehovah sent Jehoshua as His apostle into the world (Israel) to preach the gospel of the Kingdom. The Angelic Spirit of Jehovah God bore witness that Jehoshua was the only begotten Son of Jehovah at the Jordan river, mount of transfiguration and the resurrection (Romans 1:1-4). When someone denies these truths they have made God a liar and rebelled against His commandment to honor Jehoshua as His only begotten Son. However, those who believe the witness of God concerning the witness He bore of His Son has the witness of God dwelling in them i.e. the holy spirit. 1 John 5:13 "These things have I written unto you, that ye may know that ye have eternal life, [even] unto you that believe on the name of the Son of God" We can be confident that we have eternal life when we have faith that Jehoshua is the Son of God and believe on his name (character, identity and authority). Just like in his gospel John's purpose for his epistle is that we have eternal life by believing that Jehoshua is the Son of Jehovah God. Again, this sums up the commandments of God which is that we believe that Jehoshua is begotten of Him. Also, God commands us to love one another as brethren as His Son loved us and gave himself for us as a ransom. ReplyForward

The truth of the four horsemen is important because it dispells the futurist eschatology and it's fear mongering false prophets. Identifying who the rider on the white horse is sets the tone for the rest of the chapter in terms of a Historcist or Futurist understanding of bible prophecy. Why is this important? Because your understanding of eschatology largely determines how you live out your life in the present, especially your walk in Messiah. It also largely determines how you view the identity of the church, Israel, Mystery Babylon, the anti-Messiah and also salvation.
Historcist eschatology promotes a healthy balanced view of what we is called "the end times", whereas Futurist eschatology promotes a panicking fear mongering escapist mentality. Historcist eschatology views that events of the book of Revelation unfolding from the time of the ascension of the Son of God all the way until his second advent. Futurist eschatology views most of the events of the book of Revelation as unfolding in the last 7 years of earth's history which is a very brief time period. Futurists always believe that the rapture of the church is right around the corner and because of that, things in this life should be viewed as largely unimportant. This view also posits all the calamities of the book of Revelation happening in a very brief time span. This often causes many Christians to have an extremely unhealthy fear of the near future and leads to ridiculous end times scenarios rivaling that of comic books and Sci-fi movies. One of the many errors of futurist eschatology is the identification of the rider of the white horse as the anti-Messiah. Let's now go to chapter 6 of Revelation and put these seals in their proper context and time. Revelation 6:1-2 1 And I saw when the Lamb opened one of the seven seals, and I heard one of the four living creatures saying as with a voice of thunder, Come. 2 And I saw, and behold, a white horse, and he that sat thereon had a bow; and there was given unto him a crown: and he came forth conquering, and to conquer. One thing to note is that chapter 6 comes right after the Messiah's appearance before the Ancient of Days (Jehovah God). Chapter 5 of Revelation is obviously a picture into the heavenly tabernacle and time wise, it is obviously right after the Messiah's ascension. Revelation 5:7-10 7 And he came, and he taketh it out of the right hand of him that sat on the throne. 8 And when he had taken the book, the four living creatures and the four and twenty elders fell down before the Lamb, having each one a harp, and golden bowls full of incense, which are the prayers of the saints. 9 And they sing a new song, saying, Worthy art thou to take the book, and to open the seals thereof: for thou was slain, and didst purchase unto God with thy blood [men] of every tribe, and tongue, and people, and nation, 10 and madest them [to be] unto our God a kingdom and priests; and they reign upon earth. Jehoshua taking the book with seven seals from Jehovah God is obviously connected time-wise with his death, atonement,. resurrection and ascension as we read in verses 9-10. In fact, this whole scene in chapter 5 is in conjunction with Jehoshua, as the Branch of David, overcoming the world which qualifies him to open the seals (Revelation 5:1-6). The strong angel (Holy Spirit?) asks (likely rhetorically) who was worthy to open the book showing that this scene is right at the time Messiah ascended to heaven otherwise the question would make no sense as in a future context there would have been no need to ask the question. Verses 11-14 of Revelation 5 show that this is the coronation of Jehoshua as King which is connected time-wise with his resurrection and ascension (Acts2:29-31; 13:32-35; Hebrews 1:8-9). So clearly the opening of the seven seals is connected with Jehoshua's death, burial, resurrection and enthronement as King. Now we can look at Revelation 6 in it's proper context: Verses 1-2, Jehoshua opens the first seal and John sees, in vision from heaven, a white horse. White represents purity so it is highly unlikely that this would be the horse that the anti-Messiah rides on. The rider on the white horse has a bow and was given a crown denoting him as the Davidic warrior King. While the anti-Messiah is posited as a king type figure, he is never said in scripture to actually being a king or being given a crown. Since this is right after the throne room scene of Revelation 5 post ascension, then it makes sense that the crown given is for the Messiah and not some future anti-Messiah figure. The end of chapter 5 shows that the Messiah is given the riches of the Kingdom. Also, the word of God is said to be a sword so the Messiah having a bow (weapon of warfare) fits perfectly with the gospel going forth to the nations after his ascension. "he went forth conquering, and to conquer" Matthew 24:14 "And this gospel of the kingdom shall be preached in the whole world for a testimony unto all the nations; and then shall the end come" Psalm 45:1-5 1.My heart overfloweth with a goodly matter; I speak the things which I have made touching the king: My tongue is the pen of a ready writer..2 Thou art fairer than the children of men; Grace is poured into thy lips: Therefore God hath blessed thee for ever. 3 Gird thy sword upon thy thigh, O mighty one, Thy glory and thy majesty. 4 And in thy majesty ride on prosperously, Because of truth and meekness [and] righteousness: And thy right hand shall teach thee terrible things. 5 Thine arrows are sharp; The peoples fall under thee; They are in the heart of the king`s enemies. This is in the context of the coronation of Jehoshua as the Davidic King (Psalm 45;6-7). This fits perfectly with the narrative of the end of Revelation 5 and the opening of the first seal of Revelation 6. Psalm 45 pictures the Davidic King conquering his enemies with the arrows of a bow and also people's will fall under his authority. The Davidic King rides in Majesty and prospers in advancing his Kingdom. He is able to do this because he is clothed with truth, meekness and righteousness all vital characteristics of the gospel of the Kingdom. Revelation 19:11 "And I saw the heaven opened; and behold, a white horse, and he that sat thereon called Faithful and True; and in righteous he doth judge and make war" At his advent, Jehoshua will ride a white horse down to the earth as he makes war on Babylon the great. This reiterates that the rider on the white horse of the first seal is the Son of God and not the anti-Messiah. That Jehoshua is seen on a white horse in Revelation 19 shows that he is the rider of the whote horse in Revelation 6. Revelation 6:3-4 3 And when he opened the second seal, I heard the second living creature saying, Come. 4 And another [horse] came forth, a red horse: and to him that sat thereon it was given to take peace from the earth, and that they should slay one another: and there was given unto him a great sword. The Dragon (Satan) is described as being red denoting his character not his literal color. The Dragon (Satan) works through State governments to foment war and bloodshed. This seal was opened after the ascension of Messiah and we have seen war ever since. Jehoshua warned about this in Matthew 24: 6 And ye shall hear of wars and rumors of wars; see that ye be not troubled: for these things must needs come to pass; but the end is not yet. 7 For nation shall rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom; and there shall be famines and earthquakes in divers places. Wars, rumors of wars and nations rising up against nations is not a sign that the last day is upon us, but rather signifies the events that will transpire between Messiah's two advents. The false futurist churches use the fact that we have had world wars as a sign that the so called rapture is about to happen yet Jehoshua said the exact opposite. The Son of God said that these will happen but that doesn't mean the end is at hand. He said not to be troubled by these things as they are events that are going to take place during the new covenant church age. This shows that Jehoshua was expecting a long delay between his two advents. It's amazing that Jehoshua said not to be troubled by wars and rumors of wars yet the evangelical churches do exactly that and act like the sky is falling every time there is some conflict in the middle east or elsewhere. They go into rapture mode evey single time. The fact that this earth has been plagued by wars and nations rising up against each other during the whole of the new covenant church age shows that this seal has long been opened. Positing this seal in the future ignores history and causes needless speculation every time a rumor of a new war or conflict springs up. Jehoshua said the opposite in that wars are not a sign that the end is at hand and he said not to be troubled when they do happen. Revelation 6:5-6 5 And when he opened the third seal, I heard the third living creature saying, Come. And I saw, and behold, a black horse; and he that sat thereon had a balance in his hand. 6 And I heard as it were a voice in the midst of the four living creatures saying, A measure of wheat for a shilling, and three measures of barley for a shilling; and the oil and the wine hurt thou not. This seal speaks of the rise in price of food and wine i.e. inflation. These things have been taking place all throughout the new covenant church age showing that this seal was also opened right after the ascension of Jehoshua and will continue until his second advent. Revelation 6:7-7 7 And when he opened the fourth seal, I heard the voice of the fourth living creature saying, Come. 8 And I saw, and behold, a pale horse: and he that sat upon him, his name was Death; and Hades followed with him. And there was given unto them authority over the fourth part of the earth, to kill with sword, and with famine, and with death, and by the wild beasts of the earth. The fourth seal is opened by Jehoshua and the results of the third seal are seen in the fourth seal which is famine. Inflation in food and wine prices lead to starvation and famine. We have obviously seen this all throughout the new covenant church age. The second seal is seen here in the third which is the sword i.e. violence and war. "With death" refers to disease and pestilence as the pale color of this horse of the fourth seal indicates sickness since that is the complexion of those who are seriously ill. Death by wild beasts of the earth could indicate literal beasts but likely refers to certain groups of people. We have seen the influx of migrants into the once Christian nations ravage the native populations through beatings, murder and rape. These are all things that have been happening throughout the new covenant church era. Revelation 6:9-11 9 And when he opened the fifth seal, I saw underneath the altar the souls of them that had been slain for the word of God, and for the testimony which they held: 10 and they cried with a great voice, saying, How long, O Master, the holy and true, dost thou not judge and avenge our blood on them that dwell on the earth? 11 And there was given them to each one a white robe; and it was said unto them, that they should rest yet for a little time, until their fellow-servants also and their brethren, who should be killed even as they were, should have fulfilled their course. This is the seal of the martyrs, they are not literally under the altar but this is metaphorical language to denote that their prayers have been heard by Jehovah God. The altar in the heavenly tabernacle represents prayer and their souls being under there represents their prayers to the Father. These martyrs were killed for their testimony. This isn't speaking of their personal testimony but rather the testimony of Jehoshua Messiah which is the spirit of prophecy. All throughout the church age men and women have been killed because they have preached the gospel of the Kingdom and that Jehoshua is the King and Son of God who shed his blood on the cross and was resurrected to glory. It has been this gospel that has caused many followers of Messiah to be killed. Notice that their prayer is not for the salvation of those that killed them but rather that Jehovah avenge their blood. The martyrs ask for Jehovah to avenge their blood on those who dwell on the earth (See Revelation 19). This indicates that Jehovah God will pout out His wrath in a very literal physical way on those who live on the earth. This is imprecatory prayer (prayer against enemies) which is still a righteous concept in the new covenant. They are given white robes showing that this refers to resurrection and not them being immortal souls for a bodiless soul cannot wear a robe. It's the same robes given to the resurrected 144,000 (great multitude) in Revelation 7 which is a last day resurrection text. The martyrs resting a little while refere to their sleep in the grave as death is spoken of as sleep in scripture (see 1st Thessalonians 4). Their is a number of saints who need to be martyred before the end comes and Jehovah sends His Son to tread the winepress of His wrath. All throughout church history there have been martyrs yet the churches still preach their unbiblical futurism. Revelation 6:12-14 12 And I saw when he opened the sixth seal, and there was a great earthquake; and the sun became black as sackcloth of hair, and the whole moon became as blood; 13 and the stars of the heaven fell unto the earth, as a fig tree casteth her unripe figs when she is shaken of a great wind. 14 And the heaven was removed as a scroll when it is rolled up; and every mountain and island were moved out of their places. This is the only seal that is yet to remain opened. This is the seal that ushers in the Kingdom of Messiah on earth and ends the current age. There will be a great earthquake throughout the earth and the sun will become black and the moon blood red. Some historcists try to say these things have happened, however this seal indicates that the events of this seal happen roughly at the same time leading up immediately to the advent of the Son of God. They will cite the Lisbon earthquake and the so called blood moons in recent times for proof as well as the falling stars seen in America in the 1800's. The stars of heaven will fall to the earth and the heaven will be rolled up as a scroll. This indicates cosmic disturbances in the sky and a permanent change to the earth's atmosphere. This makes sense since Messiah and the Father are going to usher in a new heavens and new earth thereby necessitating the rolling up of the old heavens and earth. The great earthquake causes the mountains and islands to shift. This seal is clearly future and it is clearly connected to the second advent of the Son of God and the dissolving of the elements in order to bring in the new heavens and new earth: 2 Peter 3:10-13 10 But the day of the Lord will come as a thief; in the which the heavens shall pass away with a great noise, and the elements shall be dissolved with fervent heat, and the earth and the works that are therein shall be burned up. 11 Seeing that these things are thus all to be dissolved, what manner of persons ought ye to be in [all] holy living and godliness, 12 looking for and earnestly desiring the coming of the day of God, by reason of which the heavens being on fire shall be dissolved, and the elements shall melt with fervent heat? 13 But, according to his promise, we look for new heavens and a new earth, wherein dwelleth righteousness. Peter connects the day of the Lord (second advent) with the cosmic disturbances outlined in the sixth seal and these disturbances cause the heavens and it's elements to dissolve and the earth to be burned up. Those who posit the events of the sixth seal to historical events ignore that the results of these events lead the coming of Jehoshua, vanishing away of the current heaven and earth and the bringing in of the new. This is why connecting these events to history is error because the subsequent results still haven't happened when the sixth seal inter-connects them as one event. Revelation 6:15-17 15 And the kings of the earth, and the princes, and the chief captains, and the rich, and the strong, and every bondman and freeman, hid themselves in the caves and in the rocks of the mountains; 16 and they say to the mountains and to the rocks, Fall on us, and hide us from the face of him that sitteth on the throne, and from the wrath of the Lamb: 17 for the great day of their wrath is come; and who is able to stand? This is what happens after the cosmic and earthly disturbances of the sixth seal which is the appearance of the Son of man Jehoshua Messiah. In the time of the sixth seal many will seek death and it will be men and women of all social classes. "the great day of their wrath", the sixth seal brings about the wrath of both the Father and the Son. The question of who is able to stand is answered in chapter 7, its the 144,000 from the 12 tribes of Israel i.e. the great multitude. ReplyForward The author of Hebrews gives us a window into the ascension of the Son of God into heaven. This is a super important chapter in terms of how we view the times we are living in, the position that Jehoshua has right now in the Kingdom as well as who has the authority over the ekklesia in terms of deciding doctrine. This also shows the nature of the new covenant ekklesia.
Many today ask the question of whether we are in the last days or not, this is a question that is answered in the second verse of Hebrews chapter 1: Hebrews Chapter 1:1-2 1 God, having of old time spoken unto the fathers in the prophets by divers portions and in divers manners, 2 hath at the end of these days spoken unto us in his Son, whom he appointed heir of all things, through whom also he made the worlds; Notice that in verse 2 it says that they were already in the end times. How did the author of Hebrews know that the last days had begun? Because of the inauguration of the Son of God's ministry. The baptism of Jehoshua brought in the last days as that is precisely when he began to preach and teach. The author of Hebrews wants us to know that the Son of God is the God's final revelation as he is the last days final and true prophet. The above passage in Hebrews shows that Jehoshua is the final authority on God's word. The evidence that we are in the last days is that God spoke to us through His Son, whereas in the old testament times He spoke through the patriarchs and prophets in diverse ways. This shows that Jehoshua fulfills the prophecy of Deuteronomy 18:15-21. That prophecy was that Jehovah God would put His words in the mouth of that prophet and that if anyone didn't obey God would require it of them. Also, verse 2 says that Jehoshua is the heir of all things appointed so by the Father. This is a very rich statement made by the author of Hebrews in that it entails the covenants Jehovah made with Adam, Abraham, Isaac, Jacob and David including the new covenant. "made the worlds" better rendered as "designed the ages". The book of Hebrews is essential in telling us what the nature of Jehoshua's Kingdom is and if it is a present tense reality versus a future thing. It also explicitly states that Jehoshua is the final truth, which if we remember will protect is from being decieved by so called new revelation and self appointed guru's and prophets. This statement that Jehovah in these last times has spoken to us through His Son eliminates the need for man made theologians, teachers, experts on the law and so called prophets. In fact, it invalidates the prophetic office of Ellen White, Joseph Smith, the Papacy and the Watch Tower Bible and Tract Society. "Jehovah God designed the ages through His Son", what does this mean? Basically it means that Jehovah planned out everything in the former age (old testament times, pre sinai and post sinai), the current Messianic age (new covenant) and the future age (new heaven and new earth) with the Messiah as the inheritor to rule over His (God's) creation. This is the privilege of the royal offspring of David (2 Samuel 7). The pre-Sinai age was designed through Jehoshua as Adam was a type of Jehoshua in terms of being given headship over Jehovah's paradise. Also, Jehoshua is the final recepient of the Abramahic covenant blessings. Jehoshua is the true Israel and the inheritor of the blessing that Jacob Israel bestowed upon his son Judah as being the lion's whelp. Jehoshua is the ultimate fulfillment of the Davidic covenant, in that he has ascended to the throne of David as we shall see later in this study. He also has been given the eternal new covenant Davidic Kingdom which began at Pentecost. He will consummate that Kingdom here on the earth at the last day fulfilling Isaiah 9:7. Jehoshua currently wears the crown of David and holds his sceptre. The Davidic dynasty was designed through Jehoshua with him as the full inheritor of those blessings (Isaiah 55:1-3). The new covenant age was designed in Jehoshua as the new covenant is in his blood and Kingship. Jehoshua is ruling over the new covenant Davidic Kingdom with his laws (Matthew 5-7) as the constitution. These are the laws that the Isles (Great Britain) waited for during the proclamation of the Kingdom gospel in the apostolic era. Jehoshua is the banner of the new covenant temple of Jehovah, which is the ekklesia. The future age will be the new heavens and new earth with New Jerusalem as the capital city. This future age will be ruled over by the Son of God Jehoshua. Revelation 22:3 "And there shall be no curse any more: and the throne of God and of the Lamb shall be therein: and his servants shall serve him" Both Jehovah God and His Son Jehoshua will be sitting on thrones in New Jerusalem. Revelation 11:15 "And the seventh angel sounded; and there followed great voices in heaven, and they said, The kingdom of the world is become [the kingdom] of our Lord, and of his Christ: and he shall reign for ever and ever" The Lord here is Jehovah God and Jehoshua is His Messiah (Christ) and the Kingdoms of this world will become the Kingdoms of Jehovah and the Messiah. See Psalms 2, 89 and 110 for other verses that show that the Davidic Messiah is going to reign as King in the future age. 1 Peter:18-21 18 knowing that ye were redeemed, not with corruptible things, with silver or gold, from your vain manner of life handed down from your fathers; 19 but with precious blood, as of a lamb without spot, [even the blood] of Christ: 20 who was foreknown indeed before the foundation of the world, but was manifested at the end of times for your sake, 21 who through him are believers in God, that raised him from the dead, and gave him glory; so that your faith and hope might be in God. Jehoshua was foreknown before the foundation of the world by Jehovah God to be His lamb. He was manifested (brought forth publicly) in the last days which started at Jehoshua's baptism. This again echoes Hebrews verses 1 and 2 in that the last days were already under way during the apostolic era. John 17:5 "And now, Father, glorify thou me with thine own self with the glory which I had with thee before the world was" Jehoshua having the ages designed through him does not mean he pre-existed but rather he was predestined by Jehovah God as mentioned above in 1 Peter 1:18-21. Here in John 17;5 we see the same concept of Jehoshua being predestined (foreknown, foreordained) by Jehovah God. We have to ask ourselves what glory did Jehoshua receive at His ascension into heaven? As we go through this outline of Hebrews 1 we will see that it is the throne of David. Did Jehoshua have this glory literally before the world was or was it pre-destined for him? Obviously it was predestined for him as the throne of David had not literally come into existence until David which had long been after Genesis chapter 1. Just as Jehoshua was predestined to Jehovah's lamb that died on the cross i.e. His suffering servant, he was also predestined to be crowned with glorious crown of David. 2 Samuel 7 details the glory the royal seed of David would recieve at the appointed time. The crown, throne, Kingdom and an eternal dynasty of the Davidic house. Also, the privilege of building the temple of Jehovah (the ekklesia) and the Melchizedek priesthood (Psalm 110). These things are the glory that the predestined Messiah had in Jehovah God before the world was. Again, he didn't have these things literally before the world was which is why the prophets always spoke of these things as a future fulfillment. Let's now move on to the next couple of verses: Hebrews 1:3-4 3 who being the effulgence of his glory, and the very image of his substance, and upholding all things by the word of his power, when he had made purification of sins, sat down on the right hand of the Majesty on high; 4 having become by so much better than the angels, as he hath inherited a more excellent name than they. Verse 3 describes the resurrected and glorified Messiah, please note this as this verse is often used to prove the deity of Messiah doctrine. The resurrected Jehoshua is the brightness of the Father's glory, see Revelation 1 for a visible description of the Son of God. Revelation 21:23 "And the city hath no need of the sun, neither of the moon, to shine upon it: for the glory of God did lighten it, and the lamp thereof [is] the Lamb." This is talking about New Jerusalem as the glory of God lightens the paradise city and radiates off the Son of God Jehoshua. Jehoshua's throne is in the holy of holies where the Father's presence dwells. 1 Timothy 6 describes Jehoshua as dwelling in unapproachable light: "who only hath immortality, dwelling in light unapproachable; whom no man hath seen, nor can see: to whom [be] honor and power eternal. Amen" (verse 16). Stephen saw Jehoshua at Jehovah's right hand and this is what he saw Acts 7:55 "But he, being full of the Holy Spirit, looked up stedfastly into heaven, and saw the glory of God, and Jehoshua standing on the right hand of God" If Jehoshua is on the right hand of the glory of God then it makes sense that he himself is partaker of that glory. Paul says that the fulness of the divine nature of Jehovah God dwells in Jehoshua (Colossians 2:9). We also are partakers of the divine nature, however this doesn't make us God. The same is true for Jehoshua as he is filled with the divine nature of Jehovah but he is not Jehovah God. Jehoshua is also the very image of Jehovah's person (substance). This speaks of Jehoshua's character rather than visible or physical attributes. The KJV says in this verse that Jehoshua is the express image of Jehovah God which is an easier to understand version of the passage. Again, this speaks of character as we are also made in Jehovah's image (Genesis 1). Paul says that we are to be conformed to the image of the Son of God: Romans 8:29 "For whom he foreknew, he also foreordained to be conformed to the image of his Son, that he might be the firstborn among many brethren" Jehovah God predestined and predetermined that the saints be conformed to the image of His only begotten Son. This doesn't denote Godship in terms of deity but rather character. This is how the statement that Jehoshua is the express image of Jehovah's person should be taken as a statement that Jehoshua is the exact representation of the Father's character. This is why Jehoshua could say this: John 14:9 "Jehoshua saith unto him, Have I been so long time with you, and dost thou not know me, Philip? he that hath seen me hath seen the Father; how sayest thou, Show us the Father?" We know that Jehoshua didn't mean that he was literally the Father as some claim as that statement makes no sense being that he says that the Father is his God. The meaning here is one of character and moral attributes. Jehoshua even commands us to strive to obtain the character of the Father: Matthew 5:48 "Ye therefore shall be perfect, as your heavenly Father is perfect" When we reach the perfection of the Father's character then we are conformed to the image of His first begotten Son. "upholding all things by the word of his power" Again, this is a post resurrection statement as Messiah has now been enthroned on the throne of David. As the Messianic King of bible prophecy, Jehoshua rules over Jehovah's Kingdom. He has also been given authority over heaven and earth: Matthew 28:18 "And Jehoshua came to them and spake unto them, saying, All authority hath been given unto me in heaven and on earth" This is a post resurrection statement by Jehoshua as he gives the apostles the great commission (verses 19-20). Colossians 1 details the primacy of Jehoshua and his Kingdom and how all things (earthly and heavenly) have been made subject to his Kingship. 1 Peter 3:22 "who is one the right hand of God, having gone into heaven; angels and authorities and powers being made subject unto him." Both Colossians 1 and 1 Peter 3 along with Hebrews 1 posit Jehoshua's ascension as the point where angels and authorities have been made subject to the Son of God. In verse 3, after the statement about Jehoshua upholding all things by the word of his power, the author of Hebrews states: "when he had made purification of sins, sat down on the right hand of the Majesty on high" This is a direct connection between Jehoshua upholding all things and him being enthroned as King on the right hand of God. The purification of sins signifies the day of atonement showing that Jehoshua completely fulfilled this holy day. "having become by so much better than the angels, as he hath inherited a more excellent name than they" Many today argue endlessly about the spelling and pronunciation of the name of the Son of God, however the above verse is not talking about as we will see in the next verse. The becoming so much better than the angels has to do with Jehoshua being resurrected from the dead and ascending to heaven as that is the context of Hebrews chapter 1. In chapter 2 it says that Jehoshua was made a little lower than the angels at his birth. The more excellent name that Jehoshua inherited has nothing to do with spelling and pronunciations of greek and Hebrew names but rather its what the name represents. In Hebrew thought someone's "name" represents their character, identity and authority. The great thing is that this more excellent name is revealed in the very next verse: "For unto which of the angels said he at any time, Thou art my Son, This day have I begotten thee? and again, I will be to him a Father, And he shall be to me a Son?" The author of Hebrews answers the question about what was the more excellent name Jehoshua inherited. He quotes Psalm , 2:7 which is an Israelite coronation hymm. The begetting of the Son in this passage is not about literal birth but rather spiritual begetting into Kingship. It's a Davidic covenant passage. The second part of this verse quotes 2nd Samuel 7:14 where Jehovah God makes a Father-Son covenant with the royal seed of David. In this one verse, where the author of Hebrews answers the question about what is the more excellent name, we have two Davidic covenant passages quoted. Both of these passages identify Jehoshua as the covenant Son of Jehovah God. The more excellent name that Jehoshua inherited that the angels didn't is "the begotten Son of God" (Psalm 2:7). Yes the angels are called sons of God as we are too but this quotation of Psalm 2:7 shows that Jehoshua is the Davidic Son of God i.e. the King of Israel. He is the only begotten Son of God meaning he is the Son of inheritance, the promised Davidic King of bible prophecy and the ultimate fulfillment of the covenant Jehovah made with David. No angel, Michael, Gabriel, or any others are of the seed of David so they do not have a right to the Davidic throne hence they have not inherited the name "the only begotten Son of God". John 3:18 "He that believeth on him is not judged: he that believeth not hath been judged already, because he hath not believed on the name of the only begotten Son of God" Here we have a direct statement regarding the name we need to believe on in order to be saved and John says that name is the "only begotten Son of God". 1 John 5:5 "And who is he that overcometh the world, but he that believeth that Jehoshua is the Son of God?" It is in believing that Jehoshua is the Son of God that causes one to overcome the world and inherit the kingdom. It is the name "only begotten Son" that one needs to believe on and that Jehoshua is that Son. 1 John 4:15 "Whosoever shall confess that Jehoshua is the Son of God, God abideth in him, and he in God" The identity of Jehoshua being the Son of God is salvationao and proof that one has the spirit of Jehovah dwelling in them. 1 John 5:12-13 12 He that hath the Son hath the life; he that hath not the Son of God hath not the life. 13 These things have I written unto you, that ye may know that ye have eternal life, [even] unto you that believe on the name of the Son of God. Those who don't believe on the name of the Son of God do not have eternal life whereas those that do have it. John's whole purpose for his Epistles and gospel is that his audience would believe on the name of the Son of God. John connects having eternal life with believing on the name of the Son of God. Again, it would be ridiculous to think John means spellings and pronunciations. Obviously the name is "the only begotten Son of God" as denoted in Hebrews 1:5. John 20:31 "but these are written, that ye may believe that Jehoshua is the Messiah, the Son of God; and that believing ye may have life in his name" The name that gives us life is not just the name Jehoshua but the title "Son of God". Just as in the Epistles, the gospel says the same thing that these things are written that we may believe in the name of the Son of God. The actual title "Son of God" is the name we are to believe in and of course that Jehoshua is that Son of God. Hebrews 1:6 "And when he again bringeth in the firstbegotten into the world he saith, And let all the angels of God worship him." This is a reference to Jehoshua's ascension into heaven as the title "first begotten" is in regards to his resurrection (Colossians 1; Revelation 1:5-6). Jehoshua became the first begotten from the dead when he was resurrected and then was brought into the "world" where the angels of Jehovah worshipped him. Remember, when he was born he was made a little lower than the angels (Hebrews 2) so this cannot refer to when he was born here on earth. When we read this verse in the surrounding context especially verse 4 then we understand that the angels are to worship him because he has been made so much better than them. Again, verse 4 is referring to Messiah's resurrection and ascension because the author of Hebrews says he was made a little lower than the angels at his birth. The word "world" is not the typical Greek word referring to the present world but to the world to come (Hebrews 2:5). Hebrews 1:7 "And of the angels he saith, Who maketh his angels winds, And his ministers a flame a fire" The author of Hebrews continues his theme of making a sharp distinction between angels and Jehoshua. It's amazing most churches teach that Jehoshua was an angel in the old testament yet this is throughly refuted in the new testament and especially by this writer of Hebrews. Hebrews 1:8-9 8 but of the Son he saith, Thy throne, O God, is for ever and ever; And the sceptre of uprightness is the sceptre of thy kingdom. 9 Thou hast loved righteousness, and hated iniquity; Therefore God, thy God, hath anointed thee With the oil of gladness above thy fellows. Here we have another reference to the Davidic covenant as this is a Messianic psalm that exalts the throne of David. It is clear what the author wants to get across to his audience and that is that Jehoshua was enthroned on the throne of David at his ascension. This is a quotation of Psalm 45 which was about Solomon in it's immediate context but is about Jehoshua in it's ultimate fulfillment. Jehoshua is the Son of God because he is the prophesied Davidic King as the Sonship of Jehovah is connected inherently with the throne of David: 1 Chronicles 28:5-6 5 And of all my sons (for Jehovah hath given me many sons), he hath chosen Solomon my son to sit upon the throne of the kingdom of Jehovah over Israel. 6 And he said unto me, Solomon thy son, he shall build my house and my courts; for I have chosen him to be my son, and I will be his father. Jehovah chose Solomon (David's son) to sit on the throne of Jehovah over Israel and He also chose Solomon to be His (Jehovah's) Son. Notice the direct connection between sitting on the throne of David and being Jehovah's chosen Son? This is a fulfillment and parallel with 2 Samuel 7:13-14 13 He shall build a house for my name, and I will establish the throne of his kingdom for ever. 14 I will be his father, and he shall be my son: if he commit iniquity, I will chasten him with the rod of men, and with the stripes of the children of men. Just as in 1 Chronicles 28, here in 2 Samuel 7:13-14 the throne of David is connected with being Jehovah's Son meaning they go hand in hand. The Son of God Jehoshua is also called God in verse 8. Many take this as proof that Jehoshua is part of the so called trinity god or that he is God himself or part of some type of Godhead. However, being that this is a Davidic Kingship psalm the title of God as applied to Jehoshua has to do with his Davidic Kingship rather than him being part of a Godhead. Isaiah 9:6-7 6 For unto us a child is begotten, unto us a son is given; and the government shall be upon his shoulder: and his name shall be called Wonderful, Counsellor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace. 7 Of the increase of his government and of peace there shall be no end, upon the throne of David, and upon his kingdom, to establish it, and to uphold it with justice and with righteousness from henceforth even for ever. The zeal of Jehovah of hosts will perform this. Isaiah prophesies of the coming eschatological Davidic King (Jehoshua) and of his titles will be "Mighty God". This title of Mighty God has nothing to do metaphysical concepts concerning the nature of Jehoshua but rather signifies that he will be a "mighty one" which is what the word "God" (Elohim) means. This title of God used in Isaiah 9 is connected to the Davidic throne (verse 7) just as the title "Son of God" is. Jehoshua also says that the judges of Israel were called gods (Psalm 82) because the word of God came from them: John 10:34-36 34 Jehoshua answered them, Is it not written in your law, I said, ye are gods? 35 If he called them gods, unto whom the word of God came (and the scripture cannot be broken), 36 say ye of him, whom the Father sanctified and sent into the world, Thou blasphemest; because I said, I am the Son of God? By identifying the judges of Israel as rightly being called gods Jehoshua basically intimated that he had the right to be called god since he was the Son of God. Being the Son of God was a higher position than being a judge as the Son of God was the King of Israel. Also, if the judges of Israel were called gods because the word of God came through them how much more does Jehoshua have a right to that title since he was/is the final revelation of God's word? John 1;18 "For the law was given through Moses; grace and truth came through Jehoshua Messiah" The grace and truth of Jehovah's word came through Jehoshua Messiah. "Thy throne, O God, is for ever and ever; And the sceptre of uprightness is the sceptre of thy kingdom" The pro Zionist evangelical churches, Messianic Jews and many Hebrew roots groups deny that Jehoshua currently sits on the throne of David and that the Davidic Kingdom has been restored, however the passage above categorically refutes this. The Messiah in bible prophecy was only ever promised one throne and one kingdom and both of those were Davidic. The verse above clearly says Jehoshua has both at his ascension. This means that the new covenant Davidic throne and Davidic Kingdom were established when Jehoshua ascended to heaven. "Thou hast loved righteousness, and hated iniquity; Therefore God, thy God, hath anointed thee With the oil of gladness above thy fellows" Jehoshua again is called God and he himself has a God. This fits perfectly with the old testament where Jehovah was the Davidic King's God. This also shows that Jehoshua is not the Almighty God nor part of the Godhead since God cannot possibly have a God. Jehoshua loved righteousness and therefore was exalted above his fellows i.e. the other Davidic Kings. Hebrews 1:10-12 10 And, Thou, Lord, in the beginning didst lay the foundation of the earth, And the heavens are the works of thy hands: 11 They shall perish; but thou continuest: And they all shall wax old as doth a garment; 12 And as a mantle shalt thou roll them up, As a garment, and they shall be changed: But thou art the same, And thy years shall not fail. Trinitarians and Jehoshua is God believers try to say that author is crediting creation to Jehoshua, however this is clearly a passage about the Father. When you back to the Psalm that this was quoted from then you clearly see that the above is crediting Jehovah God with creating heaven and earth. The whole chapter is about Jehovah as he is specifically mentioned. We know that Jehoshua is not Jehovah but is the Son of Jehovah God (Matthew 16:13-20). This passage states that Jehovah will eventually fold up and change the current heaven and earth and renew (change) them. This shows that Jehovah is not going to obliterate or destroy the earth but rather He is going to renew them. Many churches falsely teach that the earth is going to be literally destroyed. Hebrews 1:13-14 13 But of which of the angels hath he said at any time, Sit thou on my right hand, Till I make thine enemies the footstool of thy feet? 14 Are they not all ministering spirits, sent forth to do service for the sake of them that shall inherit salvation? Again, the author of Hebrews makes a distinction between the angels and Jehoshua. None of the angels were given the Davidic covenant which is for the royal seed of David to sit on the right hand of Jehovah God (Psalm 110:1). Neither Michael or the Angel of Jehovah are of the lineage of David hence they are not qualified to sit on the throne of David. Jehoshua will sit on the throne of David at Jehovah's right hand until his enemies are made the footstol of his feet. This shows that Jehoshua is reigning now on the throne as he is to sit on it before and during the process of his enemies being made his footstool. If Jehoshua wasn't on the throne of David yet then this language would make no sense since it posits him on the throne even while his enemies are not made his footstool. Angels are given a different function, which is to minister to the heirs of salvation. The heirs of salvation as Hebrews 8 states is the house of Judah and the house of Israel. Hebrews 1 is a great introduction by the author to the new covenant gospel as he starts with the foundation of Jehoshua being installed on the throne of David, which is essential to even have a new covenant. Psalm 149
The gospel in Psalm Chapter 149 1 Praise ye Jehovah. Sing unto Jehovah a new song, And his praise in the assembly of the saints. 2 Let Israel rejoice in him that made him: Let the children of Zion be joyful in their King. 3 Let them praise his name in the dance: Let them sing praises unto him with timbrel and harp. 4 For Jehovah taketh pleasure in his people: He will beautify the meek with salvation. 5 Let the saints exult in glory: Let them sing for joy upon their beds.6 Let the high praises of God be in their mouth, And a two-edged sword in their hand; 7 To execute vengeance upon the nations, And punishments upon the peoples; 8 To bind their kings with chains, And their nobles with fetters of iron; 9 To execute upon them the judgment written: This honor have all his saints. Praise ye Jehovah Many fail to see that the gospel is not just a new testament concept but goes back to what people call the "old testament". Here in Psalm 149 we see a reality of the gospel that makes most churchmen blush. Why is this? Because it destroys the pacifist Jesus they idolize and destroys the idea of being meek as being passive or docile. Verse 1 talks about our worship to Jehovah God in a corporate setting. Singing and praising Jehovah God in the midst of the congregation is not just a new testament concept but goes back to the old testament. Singing a new song has nothing to do with literally creating a new type of worship but rather praising Jehovah God for new blessings and being thankful everyday for ones you didn't realize you had. Israel rejoices in the fact that they have been formed and created by Jehovah God from the womb. They are the holy seed of Jehovah: Ezra 9:2 "For they have taken of their daughters for themselves and for their sons, so that the holy seed have mingled themselves with the peoples of the lands: yea, the hand of the princes and rulers hath been chief in this trespass" Isaiah 44:1-2 1 Yet now hear, O Jacob my servant, and Israel, who I have chosen: 2 Thus saith Jehovah that made thee, and formed thee from the womb, who will help thee: Fear not, O Jacob my servant; and thou, Jeshurun, whom I have chosen. Israel is Jehovah's first born son being given Jehovah's spirit at conception in the womb. This Spirit writes Jehovah's law on the hearts of Israel. Thereby Israel is made in Jehovah's image. Never is it said that Jehovah formed any other nation. Adam and Eve are the progenitors of the Israelite people. Verse 3, The dance and musical instruments are appropriate in our worship of Jehovah God. The Father of spirits delights in our praise of Him. Verse 4, Jehovah takes pleasure in His Israelite people. The word pleasure comes from the Hebrew word "delight, enjoy, to be accepted, favourable, affection, to be pleased with, approve" Think of a father with his child. A child is the apple of his father's eye. This is how Jehovah looks at His Israelite race: Zechariah 2:8 "For thus saith Jehovah of hosts: After glory hath he sent me unto the nations which plundered you; for he that toucheth you toucheth the apple of his eye" The Israelite people are precious to Jehovah God, He keeps an account of those who trouble his first born son Israel. Jehovah delights in His people and approves of them this is why we should never let anyone condemn us and put guilt trips on us because we are His begotten children. We should always remember that we are the offspring of Jehovah God and that we have the Sonship. Only those of the flesh hate this and will try and bring us religion and condemnation and try to say Jehovah is displeased with us. Know this Saints, we are Jehovah's treasured (precious) possession and no one can take us from His hand. We are loved abundantly by our Creator who formed us (Israel) and made us in His image. Jehovah will beautify the meek with salvation. This is a powerful scripture. Who is meek according to the Son of God Jehoshua? Matthew 5:3-11 3 Blessed are the poor in spirit: for theirs is the kingdom of heaven. 4 Blessed are they that mourn: for they shall be comforted. 5 Blessed are the meek: for they shall inherit the earth. 6 Blessed are they that hunger and thirst after righteousness: for they shall be filled. 7 Blessed are the merciful: for they shall obtain mercy. 8 Blessed are the pure in heart: for they shall see God. 9 Blessed are the peacemakers: for they shall be called sons of God. 10 Blessed are they that have been persecuted for righteousness` sake: for theirs is the kingdom of heaven. 11 Blessed are ye when [men] shall reproach you, and persecute you, and say all manner of evil against you falsely, for my sake. These are called the beatitudes and in verse 5 Jehoshua says blessed are the meek. The definition of meek is in the surrounding verses, it is those who are peace makers, merciful, those that mourn, those that are maligned, the poor in spirit, the pure in heart and those that hunger and thirst after righteousness. The definition of the word meek comes from the Greek word "praus" (Strongs 4239) and means "gentleness of spirit, humble". The Hebrew word for "meek" basically has the same meaning as the Greek word. The word for "beautify" in the Hebrew (Strongs 6286) is "adorn, to glorify, beautify, to gleam" The day of Salvation is at the last day when the Kingdom of Jehovah God comes down to the earth after His Son Jehoshua vanquishes the wicked. Jehovah will adorn the "meek" i.e. poor in spirit with inheritance of the Kingdom as we will be kings and priests and sit on thrones reigning with the Messiah (the day star) and be pillars in the temple of Jehovah. We will have white stones with new names i.e authority to judge. We will eat of the tree of life in the paradise of God and have Jehovah's name written on our foreheads. "Let the saints exult in glory: Let them sing for joy upon their beds" We are to have the praises of Jehovah on our lips at all times. Verse 6 of Psalm 149 is interesting "Let the high praises of God be in their mouth, And a two-edged sword in their hand" We are not only worshippers in song of Jehovah God but we are His warriors who bear the sword. Notice that just two verses earlier these ones who now bear the sword are called "meek" (verse 4). This shows that being meek does not equate to being docile or passive. As king Solomon said there is a time to fight and a time for peace: Ecclesiastes 3:8 "a time to love, and a time to hate; a time for war, and a time for peace" There is no such thing as pacifism in the bible, Jehovah's saints are expected to go to war when the time comes. Certainly there is a time for peace but there is also a time for war unless of course you want to deny Solomon was filled and inspired by the holy Spirit when he wrote this. Even Jehoshua told his apostles to buy swords: Luke 22:36 "And he said unto them, But now, he that hath a purse, let him take it, and likewise a wallet; and he that hath none, let him sell his cloak, and buy a sword" What would be the purpose of the Son of God telling the apostles to buy a sword? It's not clear as some use Jehoshua's quote of Isaiah 53:12 as the answer but that only says Jehoshua would be numbered among the transgressors with no direct connection to the apostles having swords. It just means Jehoshua would be arrested as a transgressor due to the accusations leveled against him not necessarily because the apostles were carrying swords. In fact, there is nothing that says carrying a sword was transgression against the law of the land at that time so the apostles carrying swords wouldn't make them and Jehoshua transgressors. Jehoshua's statement just alludes to his arrest, nothing more nothing less. Matthew 26:51-54 51 And behold, one of them that were with Jehoshua stretched out his hand, and drew his sword, and smote the servant of the high priest, and struck off his ear. 52 Then saith Jehoshua unto him, Put up again thy sword into its place: for all they that take the sword shall perish with the sword. 53 Or thinkest thou that I cannot beseech my Father, and he shall even now send me more than twelve legions of angels? 54 How then should the scriptures be fulfilled that thus it must be? We have to ask why the apostles would draw their sword and use it if indeed Jehoshua taught a doctrine of pacifism. In verse 52, Jehoshua commands the apostle to put his sword back in his place as all who take the sword will perish by the sword. Many use this to teach a doctrine of pacifism, however all we can glean from this passage is that the sword should not be the go to solution when we encounter opposition or issues in general. Jehoshua's statement isn't an all encompassing ban on self defense or even on rare occasions pro active agression per the overturning the tables incident. The whole point of Jehoshua's light rebuke was that he had to fulfill prophecy by going into the hands of the religius leaders of Jerusalem. Jehoshua tells the apostles that he could have called on the angels from heaven to intervene. The point is not that Jehoshua is promiting docility or pacifism in the face of evil but rather that our trust should be in Jehovah God and His protection as well as being willing to suffer for the Kingdom when required. This particular incident was obviously not a time for war as king Solomon said. Jehoshua's whipping the money changers at the temple was one of those times for war so to speak. Also, there is a big difference between suffering for the Kingdom and defending oneself, family and even others when violently attacked by robbers, thugs etc. Verse 6 of Psalm 149 as far as it applies to us is likely speaking of the return of the Messiah and the part we will play in the war of Armageddon. For the Israelites of old, they were often commanded to bear the sword to kill their enemies so the idea of bearing the sword as believers in God is not a strange concept. In fact, we will be commanded by Jehoshua to kill those who do not make him their king: Luke 19:27 "But these mine enemies, that would not that I should reign over them, bring hither, and slay them before me" Many modern Christians spiritualize away this verse however they have no right to do this as all throughout scripture the Davidic Messiah is prophesied to shed blood and kill with the sword. See Genesis 48:8-10, Psalm 2, Psalm 110, Isaiah 63 and Revelation 19. What will be the purpose of our bearing the sword? Psalm 149:7-9 7 To execute vengeance upon the nations, And punishments upon the peoples; 8 To bind their kings with chains, And their nobles with fetters of iron; 9 To execute upon them the judgment written: This honor have all his saints. Praise ye Jehovah. We are going to bear the sword because we are going to execute vengeance upon the nations of this world. We will bind the kings and nobles of the nations with fetters of iron. We will be executioners on that day. This sure is not taught in the churches. Remember Luke 19:27 quoted above? Jehoshua is command us to kill those who would not make him King with the sword. The church is embarrassed by this passage and takes many pains to explain it away. Yet if we deny that this passage says and means exactly what it says then we make Jehoshua a liar. That is not a good place to stand on. You may say "Jehoshua is telling this to the angels not us" yet Psalm 149 confirms that indeed the Saints are the ones who will be killing the royalty of the nations with the sword. We will bind them with chains. Who does the Psalmist say has this honor to execute the vengeance of Jehovah with the sword? The saints (verse 9). Who are the saints? The brethren of the Messiah. We cannot spiritualize away these texts, when Jehovah commanded Israel to fight against their enemies it was not some erethral spiritual war but it was very literal. Jude 14-15 14 And to these also Enoch, the seventh from Adam, prophesied, saying, Behold, Jehovah came with ten thousands of his holy ones (saints), 15 to execute judgment upon all, and to convict all the ungodly of all their works of ungodliness which they have ungodly wrought, and of all the hard things which ungodly sinners have spoken against him. This fits perfectly with Psalm 149 as the arrival of Jehovah with His holy ones (saints) will be to execute judgment upon the ungodly. These ungodly include the kings and nobles of the nations mentioned in Psalm 149. Just as in Psalm 149 and Luke 19:27, here in Jude it is the holy ones (Saints) doing the execution of the wicked along with the kings and nobles of the nations. Jehovah God has given this pleasure to the saints (children of Jehovah). This is a gift to us yet many Christians refuse this and say it is atrocious to even think we will kill people when the Son of God returns. Did you know that it is even gonna be the pleasure of the Son of God to kill the heads of many nations: Psalm 110:5-7 5 The Lord at thy right hand Will strike through kings in the day of his wrath. 6 He will judge among the nations, He will fill [the places] with dead bodies; He will strike through the head in many countries. 7 He will drink of the brook in the way: Therefore will he lift up the head. Earlier in this Psalm David prophesied that his Royal descendant would be placed on the right hand of Jehovah God. The apostolic church applied this prophesy to Jehoshua as did Jehoshua himself. So it is Jehoshua that will strike through the heads (kings and nobles) of many countries. In verse 7 the phrase "he will lift up the head" denotes his satisfaction with what he has done i.e. killing the heads of many countries. Let's go to Isaiah 63: Isaiah 63:4-8 4 For the day of vengeance was in my heart, and the year of my redeemed is come. 5 And I looked, and there was none to help; and I wondered that there was none to uphold: therefore mine own arm brought salvation unto me; and my wrath, it upheld me. 6 And I trod down the peoples in mine anger, and made them drunk in my wrath, and I poured out their lifeblood on the earth. 7 I will make mention of the lovingkindnesses of Jehovah, [and] the praises of Jehovah, according to all that Jehovah hath bestowed on us, and the great goodness toward the house of Israel, which he hath bestowed on them according to his mercies, and according to the multitude of his lovingkindnesses. 8 For he said, Surely, they are my people, children that will not deal falsely: so he was their Saviour. This is a prophesy about the Messiah's second advent and the destruction of the Edomites. This is prophetically Jehoshua speaking here and he says that the day of vengeance is in his heart. In other words, this is something that he wants to do. Why would Jehoshua want to take vengeance on Edom? Because for the sake of his redeemed which are the house of Israel and Judah. Verse 6 says that the Davidic King's wrath upholds him in the day of vengeance meaning his wrath is what keeps him strong to do the task of destroying Edom. Again, this vengeance is for the sake of his people Israel and bringing them salvation as Jehoshua is the arm of salvation for his people. Verses 6 and 7, Notice that Jehoshua taking vengeance on the wicked Edomites and destroying them in his wrath and pouring their lifeblood on the earth does not contradict that this actually an act of Jehovah's loving kindness. In one verse Jehoshua goes from talking about what he is going to do to the Edomites to praising Jehovah for his love and great goodness. This parallels Psalm 149 to a "T" as in one verse the saints go from praising Jehovah God with their lips to bearing the sword taking vengeance on the kings and nobles of the nations and binding them in chains as well. This vengeance taken upon the Edomites is for the sake of Israel Jehovah's first born Son. The Messiah praises Jehovah for His great goodness to Israel not the other nations and especially not Edom. For Edom, Jehovah has wrath and hatred. For Israel, Jehovah has love and goodness. We should praise Jehovah God for the same in that His Son will come and trample the Edomites in his wrath but show tender mercies to His Adamite Israelite race. Do you see how the gospel is two-fold? The good news of the gospel is Jehovah God's Davidic Messiah, along with the saints, taking the sword and killing kings and nobles and binding them in chains. See Luke 19:27 for Jehoshua's direct words. The good news of the gospel that Jehovah does this for the sake of His covenant people the Israel of Jehovah. Verse 8, for the Messiah says surely the Israelite people are Jehovah's and He (Jehovah) is their (Israel's) Saviour. Notice that the Messiah does not say that Jehovah is anyone else's Saviour except Israel. Verse 24 of Ezekiel 37 echoes Jeremiah 30 where it says;
8 And it shall come to pass in that day, saith Jehovah of hosts, that I will break his yoke from off thy neck, and will burst thy bonds; and strangers shall no more make him their bondman; 9 but they shall serve Jehovah their God, and David their king, whom I will raise up unto them. This applies both to Jehoshua's first advent as well as his second advent. At Jehoshua's first advent he reconciled both Judah and Israel back to Jehovah God. Jehoshua himself was placed on the throne of David at His ascension into heaven thereby being raised up (resurrection) by Jehovah God to be Israel's King. At Jehoshua,'s second advent he will remove the yoke of Babylon off of the Israelite people and reign on earth as their King and lead them into worship of his God and Father Jehovah. It was the royal seed of David that was prophesied to rule over the earth forever: Isaiah 9:6-7 6 For unto us a child is begotten, unto us a son is given; and the government shall be upon his shoulder: and his name shall be called Wonderful, Counsellor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace. 7 Of the increase of his government and of peace there shall be no end, upon the throne of David, and upon his kingdom, to establish it, and to uphold it with justice and with righteousness from henceforth even for ever. The zeal of Jehovah of hosts will perform this. Verse 6 of Isaiah 9 refers to the birth of the Davidic King as well as the titles/roles he would fulfill. Verse 7 speaks of the begotten child as reigning upon the throne of David and His Kingdom being established upon it and it lasting forever. This reiterates the promise made to David in 2 Samuel 7. Matthew 1:20 "But when he thought on these things, behold, an angel of the Lord appeared unto him in a dream, saying, Joseph, thou son of David, fear not to take unto thee Mary thy wife: for that which is conceived in her is of the Holy Spirit" The angel of Jehovah appeared to Joseph. Note that Matthew notes that Joseph is a son of David. This is mentioned to emphasize the Davidic nature of Jospeh and Mary's son. This is because the Israelites knew that the coming Messiah would be from the royal seed of David. Luke 2:4 "And Joseph also went up from Galilee, out of the city of Nazareth, into Judaea, to the city of David, which is called Bethlehem, because he was of the house and family of David" Luke also emphasizes that Joseph, Jehoshua's father, is of the house of David. This is important because the Messiah had to be of the line of Jesse through the father (Numbers 1:18). 1 Kings 2:12 "And Solomon sat upon the throne of David his father; and his kingdom was established greatly" Solomon was the first beneficiary of the Davidic covenant post David. The throne that the King of Israel sits upon is referred to as the throne of David. Solomon was the first royal recipient of the Davidic promise (post David( and Jehoshua is the last. The King of Israel position is for the royal seed of David. 2nd Chronicles 1:8-9 8 And Solomon said unto God, Thou hast showed great lovingkindness unto David my father, and hast made me king in his stead. 9 Now, O Jehovah God, let thy promise unto David my father be established; for thou hast made me king over a people like the dust of the earth in multitude. Here Solomon is referring to the Davidic covenant and thanks Jehovah God for making him King in the place of his father. Solomon petitions Jehovah to keep His promise to his father David. Solomon also alludes to the Abrahamic covenant in that he refers to the people of Israel as the dust of the earth. Abraham was told that his seed would number as the sand of the sea shore. The royal seed of David was to be shepherd over the people of Abraham through Isaac and Jacob. Revelation 5:4-5 4 And I wept much, because no one was found worthy to open the book, or to look thereon: 5 and one of the elders saith unto me, Weep not; behold, the Lion that is of the tribe of Judah, the Root of David, hath overcome to open the book and the seven seals thereof. The Kingship of Israel would be from the tribe of Judah and also from the line of David. Here Jehoshua is called the root of David. The word "root" is rendered from the greek word "rhiza" and means "a root, that which like a root springs from a root, a sprout, shoot". Jehoshua being the root is the same as him being a shoot from the family tree of David. Root does not mean he preceded David in existence but rather that he is a sprout from the Davidic family line as all of Bible prophecy said the Messiah would be. The above passage is saying that Jehoshua sprouted forth from the family tree of David. The book of Revelation confirms that it would be a Davidic Messiah that would bring salvation to God's people. Jehoshua as the branch of David overcame temptation and the rulers of this world to be a pure sacrifice unto Jehovah God. Matthew 15:22 "And behold, a Canaanitish woman came out from those borders, and cried, saying, Have mercy on me, O Lord, thou son of David; my daughter is grievously vexed with a demon" The Canaanite (Syro-phoencian) knew that the Messiah of Israel would be a son of David. This was the expectation that Israel had concerning the nature of their Messiah. 2nd Chronicles 21:6-7 6 And he walked in the way of the kings of Israel, as did the house of Ahab; for he had the daughter of Ahab to wife: and he did that which was evil in the sight of Jehovah. 7 Howbeit Jehovah would not destroy the house of David, because of the covenant that he had made with David, and as he promised to give a lamp (light) to him and to his children alway. No matter how wicked the Davidic Kings became Jehovah's covenant with David would not fail. Jehoram was a wicked king, even marrying Ahab's daughter, yet Jehovah would not destroy the house of David as Jehovah promised to give David a light (lamp) to his royal seed forever. No we see where the language of Jehoshua being the light of the world (Israel) comes from. David was promised that his royal offspring would be a lamp unto Israel forever. Even though there would be wicked kings and a temporary empty throne Jehovah would keep His promise and give Israel a light from the Davidic throne forever. This was fulfilled in Jehoshua. 1 Chronicles 28:3 "But God said unto me, Thou shalt not build a house for my name, because thou art a man of war, and hast shed blood" Like his father David, Jehoshua is a man of war.. During his first advent Jehoshua was like Solomon, a man of peace. When he returns he will exceed David in bloodshed. Matthew 12:22-23 22 Then was brought unto him one possessed with a demon, blind and dumb: and he healed him, insomuch that the dumb man spake and saw. 23 And all the multitudes were amazed, and said, Can this be the son of David? It is clear that the Saviour that the multitudes of Israel were waiting for was to be a son of David, hence their response to Jehoshua healing the demon possessed man. "The" (singular-prophetic) son of David was equated with being the Messianic Saviour. David made the Edomites his servants and he executes justice and righteousness for HIS people. Who were the Edomites and who were David's people? The Edomites are your modern Jews. David's people were the nation of Israel. The below text says that David reigned over all Israel. When Jehoshua comes back he too will execute justice and righteousness for his people Israel and be their earthly King. However, he will not make the Edomite Jews his servants but instead he will kill them with the sword (Isaiah 63, Obadiah 1). 2 Samuel 8:13-15 13 And David gat him a name when he returned from smiting the Syrians in the Valley of Salt, even eighteen thousand men.14 And he put garrisons in Edom; throughout all Edom put he garrisons, and all the Edomites became servants to David. And Jehovah gave victory to David whithersoever he went.15 And David reigned over all Israel; and David executed justice and righteousness unto all his people. Mark 12:35-37 35 And Jehoshua answered and said, as he taught in the temple, How say the scribes that the Messiah is the son of David? 36 David himself said in the Holy Spirit, Jehovah said unto my Lord, Sit thou on my right hand, Till I make thine enemies the footstool of thy feet. 37 David himself calleth him Lord; and whence is he his son? And the common people heard him gladly. Jehoshua is not disputing that he is the son of David for others called him that and he did not deny it, also the angel Gabriel calls him that in the announcement of his upcoming birth. What Jehoshua is saying is that he will be, superior to David because he is the final fulfillment of the promise Jehovah made to David. Jehoshua quotes Psalm 110 attributing that text to himself. Psalm 110 is a resurrection and enthronement text. It is the most quoted or alluded to old testament verse in the new testament. Jehoshua is telling the audience that he will be superior to David at the resurrection and that he will be the King that reigns forever, hence he will be David's King. Luke 1:26-27 26 Now in the sixth month the angel Gabriel was sent from God unto a city of Galilee, named Nazareth, 27 to a virgin betrothed to a man whose name was Joseph, of the house of David; and the virgin`s name was Mary. Just as in Matthew 1 Joseph is mentioned as being from the house of Joseph. This was important information because it helps validate the Messianic claims of Jehoshua as the Messiah had to be of the line of David. Jeremiah 23:5-6 5 Behold, the days come, saith Jehovah, that I will raise unto David a righteous Branch, and he shall reign as king and deal wisely, and shall execute justice and righteousness in the land. 6 In his days Judah shall be saved, and Israel shall dwell safely; and this is his name whereby he shall be called: Jehovah our righteousness. Here Jeremiah prophesies about the future Davidic Messiah that would be raised up unto the Davidic family tree. Here the Davidic Messiah is called the Branch. The word "Branch" comes from the Hebrew word "Tsemach" (strongs 6780) and means "branch, bud, that which grew, growth, sprouting, shoot (of Messiah of Davidic tree)". Jehoshua is the Branch of the Davidic family tree that was raised up by Jehovah God Almighty to reign over the house of Judah and the house of Israel. This means Jehoshua grew out of the royal family lineage of David. Verse 5 of Jeremiah 23 echoes that of Isaiah 9:6-7 in that the Davidic Branch would excute justice and righteousness from his throne. While this is true in the new covenant age, the total fulfillment of this will be in the land promised to Abraham when Jehoshua comes back. In verse 6, Jeremiah confirms that the Davidic King is the Saviour of the house of Judah and the house of Israel. This who Jehovah makes the new covenant with. The new covenant is made with the blood of the Messianic Davidic King. Jehoshua was sent to save his people (Judah/Israel) from their sins. The part of Judah and Israel being saved has ti do with the first advent and the part where they will dwell safely has to do with the second advent. Matthew 1:21-23 21 And she shall bring forth a son; and thou shalt call his name JEHOSHUA; for it is he that shall save his people from their sins. 22 Now all this is come to pass, that it might be fulfilled which was spoken by JEHOVAH through the prophet, saying, 23 Behold, the virgin shall be with child, and shall bring forth a son, And they shall call his name Immanuel; which is, being interpreted, God with us. Who are Jehoshua's people? Read Deuteronomy 18:15-21 where Moses, speaking of Jehoshua, says that the prophet Jehovah would raise up would be of his brethren, the Israelites. Verse 21 says that Jehoshua would save his people from their sins. Clearly Jehoshua was an Israelite and those are his people. The modern churches have changed this to mean Jehoshua came to save everyone in their sins. The arrival of the Davidic Messiah was a sign that Jehovah was with us. Who are the us? Who was promised the Davidic Messiah? Obviously Israel. ReplyForward Ezekiel 34:23-24
23 And I will set up one shepherd over them, and he shall feed them, even my servant David; he shall feed them, and he shall be their shepherd. 24 And I, Jehovah, will be their God, and my servant David prince among them; I, Jehovah, have spoken it. The phrase "the Davidic Messiah," would sound strange to a lot of Christians including some of the more seasoned ones. Yet Jehoshua being a Davidic saviour is paramount to who Jehoshua is and what qaulifies him to be the Messiah. In the above passage, Ezekiel prophesies of a future Davidic King who will be set up as Israel's shepherd. This Davidic King would serve and feed the people of Israel unlike the wicked shepherds in that nation. This perfectly describes the circumstances of Jehoshua's arrival on the scene after his baptism. The Pharisees, Saducees and Herodian kings had largely ruled the people with vigor and put many burdens on them that they themselves would not bear. These are the words of Simeon to Jehoshua's mother Mary: Luke 2:34 "and Simeon blessed them, and said unto Mary his mother, Behold, this [child] is set for the falling and the rising of many in Israel; and for a sign which is spoken against" The falling of many fulfills what Ezekiel prophesied in Ezekiel 34 that Jehovah's hand would he against the wicked shepherds: 10 Thus saith the Lord Jehovah: Behold, I am against the shepherds; and I will require my sheep at their hand, and cause them to cease from feeding the sheep; neither shall the shepherds feed themselves any more; and I will deliver my sheep from their mouth, that they may not be food for them. This verse is in connection with the raising up of the Davidic shepherd. Simeon tells Mary that Jehovah is going to use Jehoshua as the instrument to bring low the wicked shepherds of Israel such as the religious establishment and the puppet king Herod. Jehoshua came to do the things Jehovah said he would do in Ezekiel 34:16: "I will seek that which was lost, and will bring back that which was driven away, and will bind up that which was broken, and will strengthen that which was sick: but the fat and the strong I will destroy; I will feed them in justice" Remember, the above verses leads up to verses 23 and 24 quoted above so it is the Davidiv King that Jehovah is going to use to do the things mentioned above in verse 16. Matthew 12:18-20 18 Behold, my servant whom I have chosen; My beloved in whom my soul is well pleased: I will put my Spirit upon him, And he shall declare judgment to the nations. 19 He shall not strive, nor cry aloud; Neither shall any one hear his voice in the streets. 20 A bruised reed shall he not break, And smoking flax shall he not quench, Till he send forth judgment unto victory. In Ezekiel 34 it is Jehovah that does the binding of the broken, however in Isaiah 42 it is His servant that does the binding of the bruised reeds. There is no contradiction here as Jehovah has always used men and women to accomplish His will. Luke 4:18 "The Spirit of Jehovah is upon me, Because he anointed me to preach good tidings to the poor: He hath sent me to proclaim release to the captives, And recovering of sight to the blind, To set at liberty them that are bruised" Jehoshua is describing the character of what his ministry will look like and it echoes Ezekiel 34 in what Jehovah says He is going to do at the time of the restoration under the Davidic King. In Ezekiel 34 the Davidic King is posited as the saviour of Israel. Ezekiel 34 is about the regathering of Israel at the end time under the Davidic King. When modern Christians think of the end times they think this means a future seven year period. However, the bible teaches that the end times began at the baptism of Jehoshua Messiah: Hebrews 1:1-2 1 God, having of old time spoken unto the fathers in the prophets by divers portions and in divers manners, 2 hath at the end of these days spoken unto us in [his] Son, whom he appointed heir of all things, through whom also he made the worlds; According to the author of Hebrews the last days began during Jehoshua's ministry. The last days have nothing to do with the concept of 3 and a half or 7 years before the Messiah comes back. This shows that the arrival of the Davidic Messiah was when the prophesies of Ezekiel 34 and 37 unfolded and were fulfilled. Ezekiel 34:30-31 30 And they shall know that I, Jehovah, their God am with them, and that they, the house of Israel, are my people, saith the Lord Jehovah. 31 And ye my sheep, the sheep of my pasture, are men, and I am your God, saith the Lord Jehovah. The coming of the Davidic saviour was to coincide with the house of Israel being made Jehovah's people again. Again, we see that this was fulfilled during the apostolic church era as both Paul and Peter quote from Isaiah 1 and apply it to the nations that were being given the gospel. At the time of Ezekiel writing this the house of Israel had been dispersed hence they were not Jehovah's people. Following the gathering of the house of Israel with Judah under the Davidic King they would again become His (Jehovah's) people (Hosea 1:10-11). The people of Jacob, both Judah and Israel, are Jehovah's sheep. Although Jehovah is the ultimate shepherd of Israel He has placed the Davidic Messiah as His under shepherd. This is why the language of Jehoshua being our shepherd in the gospel of John is used because the Davidic king was the shepherd of Israel: 2nd Samuel 7:7-8 7 In all places wherein I have walked with all the children of Israel, spake I a word with any of the tribes of Israel, whom I commanded to be shepherd of my people Israel, saying, Why have ye not built me a house of cedar? 8 Now therefore thus shalt thou say unto my servant David, Thus saith Jehovah of hosts, I took thee from the sheepcote, from following the sheep, that thou shouldest be prince over my people, over Israel; Jehovah God commanded David to be a shepherd to Israel. David himself was a shepherd over his father Jesse's sheepcote. The Davidic shepherd was also to be the prince (king) of Israel. Now we can put in context Jehoshua's words in John chapter 10: John 10;11-14 11 I am the good shepherd: the good shepherd layeth down his life for the sheep. 12 He that is a hireling, and not a shepherd, whose own the sheep are not, beholdeth the wolf coming, and leaveth the sheep, and fleeth, and the wolf snatcheth them, and scattereth [them]: 13 [he fleeth] because he is a hireling, and careth not for the sheep. 14 I am the good shepherd; and I know mine own, and mine own know me. Remember that the shepherd language is not unique to Jehoshua but rather it is rooted in the Davidic covenant. Who are the hirelings? They are the Edomite Jews who try to position themselves as authorities within the congregation of Israel. These are the Pharisees and the Herodians who have no Davidic lineage and have no right to shepherd the people of Israel. They rejected the Davidic King Jehoshua and for that Jehovah God destroyed their temple and city. Today these hirelings and wolves are the Pastors of Christendom who try and lord their authority over others and put themselves between the sheep and the Messiah in terms of the sheep's relationship with God. They also promote a false Jehoshua by saying that he is God Almighty and they downplay his Davidic lineage or know very little about it. Like their spiritual forefathers, (Pharisees, Sadducees, Herodians), they reject the true Davidic Messiah and promote a blasphemous pagan messiah. The theme of reunification under the Davidic Saviour continues in Ezekiel 37: 23 neither shall they defile themselves any more with their idols, nor with their detestable things, nor with any of their transgressions; but I will save them out of all their dwelling-places, wherein they have sinned, and will cleanse them: so shall they be my people, and I will be their God. 24 And my servant David shall be king over them; and they all shall have one shepherd: they shall also walk in mine ordinances, and observe my statutes, and do them. Verse 23 perfectly describes the situation that the northern tribes were in. They had been dispersed among the nations and were worshipping idols. However, Jehovah God gathered them back to Himself during the advent of Jehoshua. Through Jehoshua's blood Jehovah cleansed the house of Israel. After shedding his blood Jehoshua was then set at Jehovah's right hand and given the sceptre, crown and throne of David. Again, this is what both Paul and Peter refer to when they quote Hosea 1:10-11. They are attributing the apostolic ministry to the nations as a fulfilment of prophecy that Jehovah God would save the house of Israel and cleanse them from their sins. Coinciding with this Jehovah would set the Davidic Saviour over them as their shepherd and prince (King). Notice that the placing of the Davidic shepherd over Israel does not do away with the law but rather they would walk in the commandments and statutes (verse 24). This proves that this prophesy laid out in Ezekiel 37 has already been fulfilled and that we don't need to wait for some future event. This exposes dispensationalism as outright heresy. The apostles attribute their mission as fulfilling Hosea 1:10-11 which is the same thing Ezekiel is speaking about above. Also, Acts 2 and 13 as well as Hebrews 1 show that Jehoshua was enthroned on the throne of David which shows that Ezekiel 37:24 has already been fulfilled. Verse 26 of Ezekiel 37 connects the setting up of the Davidic king with the giving of the new covenant: "Moreover I will make a covenant of peace with them; it shall be an everlasting covenant with them; and I will place them, and multiply them, and will set my sanctuary in the midst of them for evermore" This of course is about the new covenant which Jehoshua, Paul and the author of Hebrews says already began. This indeed shows that most of Ezekiel 37 has been fulfilled. Notice that this is all in connection with Israel being given their Davidic Saviour. Matthew 1:1 "The book of the generation of Jehoshua Messiah, the son of David, the son of Abraham" The first verse in the new testament identifies Jehoshua as the son of David. This is important because it immediately shows that indeed the Saviour of Israel would be a Davidic Saviour and not some greco-roman demigod. Matthew 12:23 "And all the multitudes were amazed, and said, Can this be the son of David?" The Israelites knew that the coming Messiah would be from the house of David. Psalm 144:10 "Thou art he that giveth salvation unto kings; Who rescueth David his servant from the hurtful sword" Did you know, that just like hia father David, Jehoshua has a saviour? Just as Jehovah God was the saviour of David He is also the Saviour of Jehoshua the Messiah. Psalm 145:1-3 1 I will extol thee, my God, O King; And I will bless thy name for ever and ever. 2 Every day will I bless thee; And I will praise thy name for ever and ever. 3 Great is Jehovah, and greatly to be praised; And his greatness is unsearchable. This is a psalm of David. What many Pastors dont want to preach is that truly David is the type of Jehoshua. Pastor's and scholars try to make Jehoshua into the angel of the LORD or the LORD Himself in the old testament but this is false as Jehoshua is the antitype of the Davidic kings namely David. This has crucial implications in terms of the identity of Jehoshua in that he himself has a God and that God is Jehovah. We can apply the above Psalm to Jehoshua saying it. David refers to Jehovah as his King and his God and that He (Jehovah) is to be praised greatly. This means that Jehoshua is a worshipper of Jehovah God and not Jehovah God Himself. Instead, Jehoshua is the Davidic Saviour of Israel. ReplyForward "reap the whirlwind" What does this phrase mean and how can we apply today to modern Christendom? Hosea 8:6-7 6 For from Israel is even this; the workman made it, and it is no God; yea, the calf of Samaria shall be broken in pieces. 7 For they sow the wind, and they shall reap the whirlwind: he hath no standing grain; the blade shall yield no meal; if so be it yield, strangers shall swallow it up. The context surrounding these two verses have to do with idolatry. This will help us understand what the phrase "sow the wind, and they shall reap the whirlwind" means? The problem here is Israel's idolatry of the golden calf. Their idolatrous worship of the golden calf was Israel sowing to the wind as they were worshipping something that didn't exist. I will show this applies to moden Christendom and how it doesn't bode well for their future. Hosea 1:1 "Set the trumpet to thy mouth. As an eagle he cometh against the house of Jehovah, because they have transgressed my covenant, and trespassed against my law" This is a warning against the house of Israel (house of Jehovah). Hosea the prophet says that the enemies of Israel will come against them because they have transgressed the covenant and law of Jehovah God. This is Jehovah's doing i.e. to send judgment against Israel. What part of the covenant and law is Israel breaking? Verse 6 above says it all, idolatry! This idolatry was worshipping a calf as if it was JEHOVAH GOD. Note that they didn't think they were worshipping another god such as one of the gods of the other nations but they actually believed they were worshipping the God of Israel. Hosea 1:2-3 2 They shall cry unto me, My God, we Israel know thee. 3 Israel hath cast off that which is good: the enemy shall pursue him. In the day of their calamity Israel will plead that they know God. Jehovah God will send the enemy after Israel as punishment for casting off that which is good. That which is good is the worship of Jehovah God as the only true God. Even though Israel thought they were worshipping Jehovah God by worshipping the calf the actual law of Jehovah forbids this type of worship. Exodus 20:3-6 3 Thou shalt have no other gods before me. 4 Thou shalt not make unto thee a graven image, nor any likeness [of any thing] that is in heaven above, or that is in the earth beneath, or that is in the water under the earth. 5 Thou shalt not bow down thyself unto them, nor serve them, for I Jehovah thy God am a jealous God, visiting the iniquity of the fathers upon the children, upon the third and upon the fourth generation of them that hate me, 6 and showing lovingkindness unto thousands of them that love me and keep my commandments. The first of the 10 commandments is to have no other gods before Jehovah God. This includes making a graven image and worshipping it as Jehovah God. We are not to bow ourselves before any image that is supposedly said to be Jehovah God nor any of the heathen gods. Jehovah God is a jealous God and visits iniquity upon those who violate his law. This is what ia going on in Hosea chapter 8. JEHOVAH'S loving kindness is only for those who keep His commandments. The above passage lists the first two commandments which are about worshipping JEHOVAH GOD. By worshipping a false god or worshipping Jehovah in a false way both of the first two commandments are being broken. This even applies to the third commandment: Exodus 20:7 "Thou shalt not take the name of Jehovah thy God in vain; for Jehovah will not hold him guiltless that taketh his name in vain" By worshipping the golden calf, Israel was taking JEHOVAH'S name in vain. Taking JEHOVAH'S name in vain is not about pronunciation but rather worshipping God in a false way. Knowing that Jehovah God is one the absolute most important commandment according to the Son of God Jehoshua (Mark 12:28-34). This commandment is called the shema: Deuteronomy 6:4 "Hear, O Israel: Jehovah our God is one Jehovah: 5 and thou shalt love Jehovah thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy might" The most important commandment of the bible teaches that JEHOVAH God is one and that we are to love Him with all our heart, soul and strength. Hosea 8:4 "They have set up kings, but not by me; they have made princes, and I knew it not: of their silver and their gold have they made them idols, that they may be cut off" The children of Israel of the Northern Kingdom had constructed for themselves idol's of gold and silver. They worshipped these idols thinking they were worshipping JEHOVAH God. Hosea 8:5 "He hath cast off thy calf, O Samaria; mine anger is kindled against them: how long will it be ere they attain to innocency?" Samaria is a reference to the northern Kingdom of Israel as Samaria was it's capital. It was the sin of Jeroboam that made the calf an object of worship. Hosea 8:6 "For from Israel is even this; the workman made it, and it is no God; yea, the calf of Samaria shall be broken in pieces" JEHOVAH God destroyed Northern Israel's (Samaria) system of worship as they were uprooted from their land and taken to Assyria. Eventually JEHOVAH God will destroy every false form of worship done in His name no matter how long it takes. This is exactly what is going on with the trinity doctrine as Jehovah is raising up men to expose this doctrine as false and as idolatry. More and more believers in the Son of God are now rejecting the trinity. It is also noteworthy that mainstream Christianity has largely lost it's salt and has become irrelevant in a big way. Jehoshua Messiah is steadily removing the churches of Christendom's candlesticks because they refuse to repent of their trinitarian idolatry. Hosea 8:7 "For they sow the wind, and they shall reap the whirlwind: he hath no standing grain; the blade shall yield no meal; if so be it yield, strangers shall swallow it up" Worshipping idols or worshipping an idol as Jehovah God is sowing to the wind and thereby is fruitless and will not reap anything good but to the contrary it will reap the whirlwind. Hosea 8:8-9 8 Israel is swallowed up: now are they among the nations as a vessel wherein none delighteth. 9 For they are gone up to Assyria, [like] a wild ass alone by himself: Ephraim hath hired lovers. When Israel (northern Kingdom) was dispersed among the nations and swallowed up in them. They lost their identity. They hired lovers meaning idols. They committed spiritual adultery by worshipping false gods. This is what is happening to the mainstream Christian Church as much of their influence in America has dissipated and what's left of the church is in huge apostasy. This is a judgment from Jehovah God as the mainstream church has refused to repent from the idolatry of the trinity doctrine. Hosea 8:10-12 10 Yea, though they hire among the nations, now will I gather them; and they begin to be diminished by reason of the burden of the king of princes. 11 Because Ephraim hath multiplied altars for sinning, altars have been unto him for sinning. 12 I wrote for him the ten thousand things of my law; but they are counted as a strange thing. The Northern kingdom of Israel was diminished as they continually hired lovers and multiplied idolatrous practices (altars) sinning in worshipping false gods. Israel was given Jehovah's law but they counted it as a strange thing. Israel thought it strange to worship only one God who is Jehovah, instead they worshipped multiple gods. This was a violation of the most important commandment which is the shema that Jehovah God is one. Modern Christianity has rejected Jehovah's law thereby the natural outgrowth is to reject the most important commandment of the bible which is that God is one. They had formed a golden calf of their own called the trinity doctrine. The law of Jehovah God is a strange thing to the modern church as they say it is bondage and accuse those who keep it as being unsaved. Hosea 8:13-14 13 As for the sacrifices of mine offerings, they sacrifice flesh and eat it; but Jehovah accepteth them not: now will he remember their iniquity, and visit their sins; they shall return to Egypt. 14 For Israel hath forgotten his Maker, and builded palaces; and Judah hath multiplied fortified cities: but I will send a fire upon his cities, and it shall devour the castles thereof. Despite their attempts at worship, their evangelism and all the other ministry programs Jehovah God does not accept their worship. He will remember their iniquity and visit their sins upon their own head. Returning to Egypt is symbolic of going back to bondage and captivity. The churches of Christendom are in crisis as they have lost their salt. The Babylonian government of America is bullying them right now and the churches are bowing down to Caesar by closing down their churches, accepting sodomy and transgenderism. The churches have forgotten their maker who is Jehovah God. Throughout much of church history the churches acknowledged the Father as the head of Jehoshua even though they held to the trinity. However, in the last several decades the churches have increasingly replaced the Father and elevated Jehoshua above him. The Father has become an after thought for most trinitarian Christians. This is a direct result of the churches throwing out the law which has allowed them to continue in their idolatry of worshipping the trinity god and/or worshipping Jesus as the Almighty God and forgetting about the Father. The American church is beginning to suffer the same fate as Israel and Judah by having their candlesticks removed from their places. Scandal after scandal has seriously damaged the church's witness amongst unbelievers. Combine that with the churches celebrating sin and denigrating God,'s law and you have a recipe for disaster. However, this is Jehovah's doing as the church not only ignores the horrid sin in their camp but they strengthen the wicked Pastors that commit them. This sin is the love of money and the pride of life. All is not lost though as Jehovah God is raising up a remnant that will worship Him in spirit and in truth. ReplyForward 2 Peter 1:1
"Simon Peter, a servant and apostle of Jehoshua Messiah, to them that have obtained a like precious faith with us in the righteousness of our God and [the] Saviour Jehoshua Messiah" This is one of the passages Trinitarians use to prove that Jehoshua is God. If we take this one verse by itself it's understandable how one can come to this conclusion, however we must take all of scripture into account. In the above verse the word "the" is supplied by the translators as they understand this passage to be referring to two distinct beings, one being God and the other being His Son Jehoshua. Verse 2 actually helps us solve the question whether verse 1 is talking about one or two people. 2 Peter 1:2 "Grace to you and peace be multiplied in the knowledge of God and of Jehoshua our King" It is clear from this verse that Peter is referring to two different people, one being God and the other being Jehoshua our King. This is also how we should understand verse 1 even though it could appear to be talking about one person. 1 Peter 1:1-3 1 Peter, an apostle of Jesus Christ, to the elect who are sojourners of the Dispersion in Pontus, Galatia, Cappadocia, Asia, and Bithynia, 2 according to the foreknowledge of God the Father, in sanctification of the Spirit, unto obedience and sprinkling of the blood of Jesus Christ: Grace to you and peace be multiplied. 3 Blessed [be] the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who according to his great mercy begat us again unto a living hope by the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead, In verse 2 Peter identifies the Father as God and then in verse 3 he says that the Father is the God of Jehoshua Messiah. So here we have a clear identification of who Peter says God is. Peter says that the Father is the God of Jehoshua Messiah. Peter says that Jehoshua was raised from the dead, this alone shows that Peter doesn't believe that Jehoshua is not God since God cannot die. For Peter, Jehoshua is the Son of God and himself has a God. Who does Peter identify as the one who raised Jehoshua from the dead? 1 Peter 1:18-21 18 knowing that ye were redeemed, not with corruptible things, with silver or gold, from your vain manner of life handed down from your fathers; 19 but with precious blood, as of a lamb without spot, [even the blood] of Christ: 20 who was foreknown indeed before the foundation of the world, but was manifested at the end of times for your sake, 21 who through him are believers in God, that raised him from the dead, and gave him glory; so that your faith and hope might be in God. Whereas Jehovah God is eternal, Peter says that Jehoshua was foreknown meaning predestined. Peter says that through Jehoshua we are believers in God. Peter is making a sharp distinction between Jehoshua and God. We must remember that faith in Jehoshua is a means to an end and that end is God. To have belief and hope in God is the goal and the Messiah is how we get to that goal. In verse 21, Peter says that God raised Jehoshua from the dead. Again, Peter is making a clear distinction between the two, God and Jehoshua. Jehoshua is not God but was raised from the dead by God. 1 Peter 2 3 if ye have tasted that the Lord is gracious: 4 unto whom coming, a living stone, rejected indeed of men, but with God elect, precious, 5 ye also, as living stones, are built up a spiritual house, to be a holy priesthood, to offer up spiritual sacrifices, acceptable to God through Jehoshua Messiah. Here in verses 3and 4, Peter identifies the Lord Jehoshua as the elect of God rather than him being God himself. If we cannot understand this simple distinction between the two then we cannot understand the gospel. In verse 5, Peter says that we offer spiritual sacrifices to God through Jehoshua Messiah. This shows that it is God the Father who is the object of the saints worship. Jehoshua is the mediator of that worship. Isaiah 42:1 "Behold, my servant, whom I uphold; my chosen, in whom my soul delighteth: I have put my Spirit upon him; he will bring forth justice to the nations" This is Jehovah God speaking through Isaiah. This is a prophecy of Jehoshua. Notice what is being said here, Jehovah God is identifying Jehoshua as his elect (chosen) servant. This is one of the passages Peter is gleaning from in 1 Peter and therefore Peter believes that Jehoshua is the elect servant of Jehovah God rather than Jehovah God. 1 Peter 3:18 "Because Messiah also suffered for sins once, the righteous for the unrighteous, that he might bring us to God; being put to death in the flesh, but made alive in the spirit" Peter says that Jehoshua suffered for us so that he can bring us to God. Peter is making a clear distinction between God and Jehoshua. 1 Peter 3:21-22 21 which also after a true likeness doth now save you, [even] baptism, not the putting away of the filth of the flesh, but the interrogation of a good conscience toward God, through the resurrection of Jehoshua Messiah; 22 who is one the right hand of God, having gone into heaven; angels and authorities and powers being made subject unto him. Peter says that Jehoshua is on the right hand of God. This was obviously shows that Peter believes that Jehoshua and God are two distinct entities (beings). He says that when we are baptized we obtain a good conscience toward God through the resurrection of the Messiah. God is the goal and the Messiah is the means by which we obtain that goal. Peter is referencing Psalm 110:1 which is a prophecy of the Davidic covenant being fulfilled. That verse also shows that Jehoshua isn't Jehovah but rather is set on the right hand of Jehovah God. 1 Peter 4:11 "if any man speaketh, speaking as it were oracles of God; is any man ministereth, [ministering] as of the strength which God supplieth: that in all things God may be glorified through Jehoshua Messiah, whose is the glory and the dominion for ever and ever. Amen." The whole purpose of Jehoshua was not to glorify himself but that His God and Father would be glorified through him (Jehoshua). When we do the works of Messiah it ultimately is God the Father that gets the glory. Again, Peter posits God as the end goal and the Messiah as the means to get there. Peter speaks as if God and the Messiah are two seperate beings. 1 Peter 4:10-11 10 And the God of all grace, who called you unto his eternal glory in Messiah, after that ye have suffered a little while, shall himself perfect, establish, strengthen you.11To him [be] the dominion for ever and ever. Amen. Peter again posits God as the goal of the Messianic as says that we are called into His (God's) glory in Messiah. This is a reoccurring theme in Peter's epistle in that we are called into God's glory by having faith in His Messiah. I. 1 Peter 1:3, the tone was already set by Peter with the Father being the God of Jehoshua, so this is how we should understand the identity of the Messiah. The Messiah's function is to bring us into the glory of the Father who Peter says is the God of Jehoshua. 2 Peter 2:16-17 16 For we did not follow cunningly devised fables, when we made known unto you the power and coming of our Lord Jehoshua Messiah, but we were eyewitnesses of his majesty. 17 For he received from God the Father honor and glory, when there was borne such a voice to him by the Majestic Glory, This is my beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased. Peter identifies God as the Father. Who is Jehoshua according to Peter? He is the beloved Son of God. This is the gospel in it's simplicity, one God who is the Father and His only begotten Son who is His (God's) Messiah (anointed one). Jehoshua got his glory and honor from God the Father showing that at one time he didn't have it. This clearly shows that Jehoshua is dependent on God the Father, thus proving he is not God but rather gets his power from God. The testimony of God is that Jehoshua is His beloved Son. Do we believe God? If we do then we will believe that Jehoshua is God's Son not God. This is what Peter believes. In his epistle John warns against denying the witness of God that Jehoshua is His begotten Son. The phrase "This is my beloved son, in whom I am well pleased" is adapted from Psalm 2:7. Psalm 2:7 is a coronation hymm of a Davidic king, showing clearly that the Messiah's identity is not God but rather God's anointed Davidic King that He (God) coronates/enthrones. Peter, being a good Israelite, knows that God is one and that the prophesied Messiah was a human being of Israelite stock. We should read 2 Peter 2:1 within the understanding that Peter is a commandment keeping Israelite who knows what the bible teaches concerning the nature of the Messiah. ReplyForward One doctrine often left out of the preaching of the mainstream churches is the Kingship of the Messiah. This doctrine of the Son of God's Kingship has been replaced with the "Jesus is God doctrine". This is a serious departure from the gospel that the apostles preached and of course Jehoshua himself.
According to Paul, this amounts to preaching another "Jesus". 2 Corinthians 11:4 "For if he that cometh preacheth another Jesus, whom we did not preach, or [if] ye receive a different spirit, which ye did not receive, or a different gospel, which ye did not accept, ye do well to bear with [him]" Preaching another Jehoshua brings another spirit and thereby a different gospel. What does Paul say about those who preach a different gospel? Galatians 1 8 But though we, or an angel from heaven, should preach unto you any gospel other than that which we preached unto you, let him be anathema. 9 As we have said before, so say I now again, if any man preacheth unto you any gospel other than that which ye received, let him be anathema. 10 For am I now seeking the favor of men, or of God? or am I striving to please men? if I were still pleasing men, I should not be a servant of Christ. Verse 8 is powerful and it should remove from us all fear of man. Not even an angel has a right to preach another gospel. If they do then they will be accursed by Jehovah God. So if angels are not exempt from being accursed, then certainly no man is no matter how popular and loved by Christendom he is. In verse 9, Paul then says any man who preaches another gospel is accursed. We must preach the same gospel that was received by the Galatians. Not one time in the book of Galatians does Paul preach that Jehoshua is God. Often times, we who are in the minority have the fear of man when discussing the subject of whether Jehoshua is God or not. However, let's be encouraged by Paul who says that he is not seeking the favor of man but rather the favor of Jehovah God. This should be our mindset as well. Otherwise, if we are concerned about pleasing man then we cannot be servants of the Son of God. Lets now go to scriptures in the new testament that talk about the Kingship of Jehoshua: Luke 1:31-32 31 And behold, thou shalt conceive in thy womb, and bring forth a son, and shalt call his name JEHOSHUA. 32 He shall be great, and shall be called the Son of the Most High: and Jehovah God shall give unto him the throne of his father David: The angel Gabriel connects the Sonship of Jehoshua with the throne of David. The angel is telling Mary that her son will be the fulfillment of the Davidic covenant. This is important to understand in that the resson Jehoshua is called the Son of the most high God is precisely because he will be given the throne of David. See 1 Chronicles 28 where Jehovah says he chose Solomon to be His son and chose him to sit on the throne of Israel (David). Luke 1:33 "and he shall reign over the house of Jacob for ever; and of his kingdom there shall be no end" If Jehoshua was to be King then he must have a Kingdom to rule over. What was this Kingdom? The angel Gabriel says it is the Kingdom of Jacob which includes both Israel and Judea. This also not something taught by the mainstream churches as they position his Kingship to be over gentile denominational churches instead of the house of Israel and the house of Judah. Matthew 2:1-2 1 Now when Jehoshua was born in Bethlehem of Judaea in the days of Herod the king, behold, Wise-men from the east came to Jerusalem, saying, 2 Where is he that is born King of the Judeans? for we saw his star in the east, and are come to worship him. The wise men from the east knew that the King of Israel had been begotten (Isaiah 9:6). Jehoshua being begotten King of the Judeans shows that the Kingship was his birthright. The wisemen seeing Jehoshua's star in the east fulfills Numbers 24:17. Luke 1:68-69 68 Blessed be Jehovah, the God of Israel; For he hath visited and wrought redemption for his people, 69 And hath raised up a horn of salvation for us In the house of his servant David 70 (As he spake by the mouth of his holy prophets that have been from of old) The birth of the King of Israel was a long awaited fulfillment of bible prophecy foretold by the prophets of the old testament. This shows that Jehoshua's Kingship is rooted in the old testament and is Israelite in nature. Zacharias, filled with the holy Spirit, blessed Jehovah God as the arrival of the King was a manifest token that God had visited Israel and was bringing them redemption. Zacharias acknowledged that the horn (power) of salvation that Jehovah was raising up to Israel was of the house of David. The arrival of the Davidic King was a sign that Jehovah was with Israel not that the Davidic king was Jehovah himself (Matthew 1:23). Luke 2:11 "for there is born to you this day in the city of David a Saviour, who is Messiah the King" Jehoshua was begotten King of Israel in the city of David (Bethlehem). The angel of the holy Spirit of Jehovah announced to the shepherds that the prophesied King was begotten. Messiah means "anointed one of Jehovah" which eliminates him from being Jehovah. Lord here means "King" not Jehovah as Trinitarians try to teach. See Psalm 110:1 for the difference between Jehovah God (LORD) and the one He sets on His right hand (lord). The Davidic King is the second lord in this passage not the first LORD. The first LORD is the name of Jehovah God whereas the second lord denotes a human or angelic ruler. Jehoshua is the second lord which translates into being the Davidic King. Luke 2:25-26 25 And behold, there was a man in Jerusalem whose name was Simeon; and this man was righteous and devout, looking for the consolation of Israel: and the Holy Spirit was upon him. 26 And it had been revealed unto him by the Holy Spirit, that he should not see death, before he had seen Jehovah's Messiah. The consolation of Israel was expected to be the coming Davidic Messiah. The Davidic King is what Luke is referring to when he says Simeon was looking for the consolation of Israel. The Holy Spirit had let Simeon know that he would see Jehovah's Messiah before he was to die. This shows a sharp distinction between Jehovah and Jehoshua. Jehoshua is the Messiah (anointed one) of Jehovah God. Luke 3:21-22 21;Now it came to pass, when all the people were baptized, that, Jesus also having been baptized, and praying, the heaven was opened, 22;and the Holy Spirit descended in a bodily form, as a dove, upon him, and a voice came out of heaven, Thou art my Son; this day have I begotten thee. The original quotation of Luke 3:22 has the words of Psalm 2:7. This is important because it shows clearly what is taking place here at Jehoshua's baptism, which is him being anointed as the King of Israel. Psalm 2:7 is not a birth of the King as in literal being conceived or coming out of the womb. Psalm 2:7 takes place within the adult life of the king and it is a royal coronation hymm. Psalm 2:7 could apply both to the anointing of a King and the enthronement. In David's case he was anointed as king years before he was actually enthroned. He had to go through a trial by fire before he actually got the throne yet he was Israe's rightful king from the point that Samuel anointed him. The same is true of Jehoshua, like David he had to experience a trial by fire before he got the throne. Like David, Jehoshua was anointed as King before he got the actual throne. The proof that Jehoshua's baptism was his anointing as King was the very quotation of Jehoshua's baptism account both in Luke 3:22 and Matthew 3:16. The wording of Psalm 2:7 was eventually replaced by the Catholic Church with what we see currently in these passages. This was likely to hide the fact that Jehoshua's Sonship was not some pre-existent Sonship but that his Sonship is rooted in the Royal Davidic covenant. In other words, Jehoshua's Sonship is inherently connected to his Kingship and not him being a pre-existent spirit offspring of God's substance. Two days after Jehoshua's baptism he was confessed as the Son of God and King of Israel by Nathanael: John 1:49 "Nathanael answered him, Rabbi, thou art the Son of God; thou art King of Israel" There is no coincidence that Jehoshua was told this two days after his baptism and it further confirms the inherent connection between being the Son of God and King of Israel. The title Son of God is a Kingship designation and does not have anything to do with Jehoshua being a pre-existent spirit being. John 3:16 "For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth on him should not perish, but have eternal life" The world here in context is the order of Israel (Matthew 15:24). This makes perfect sense since Jehoshua was promised to be the King of Israel in Gabriel's announcement to Mary. Because of the false Greco-Roman Jesus taught by the Christian Churches many miss out on the fact that John 3:16 is a Kingship verse. However, when we read this from an Israelite perspective then it is clearly a Kingship verse. Jehoshua is called God's only begotten Son here and this designation of him being the begotten Son of God hearkens back to Psalm 2:7. Remember, Psalm 2:7 is a royal coronation hymm of an Israelite king. This passage was quoted at Jehoshua's baptism: "Thou art my Son; this day have I begotten thee" If Jehoshua is Israel's King then it makes sense that those are the people that God sent him to. The title "only begotten Son" as stated above is rooted in Psalm 2:7 which is a royal coronation hymm of an Israelite King. This royal coronation hymm is rooted in the Davidic covenant (2nd Samuel 7:14). The title "only begotten Son" is a title of inheritance for the firstborn Son. The firstborn Son could be the literal firstborn son or it could be a son who wasn't the firstborn but was given the firstborn rights. See Ephraim, Isaac and Jacob for the type situation where the firstborn inheritance was given to a son who was not the literal firstborn. When the phrase "begotten Son" or "only begotten Son" is used of Jehoshua it is always in reference to him being the anointed King of Israel. Acts 13:32-33 32 And we bring you good tidings of the promise made unto the fathers, 33 that God hath fulfilled the same unto our children, in that he raised up Jehoshua; as also it is written in the second psalm, Thou art my Son, this day have I begotten thee. Bible students disagree about whether verse 33 is talking about the resurrection or baptism of Jehoshua. I believe it is about the baptism of Jehoshua when you read the verse in the overall context of Acts chapter 13. What is not up for debate, is that this is indeed a Kingship text. Notice that Paul uses the Kingship text of Psalm 2:7 and says it is good tidings (good news) which means "the gospel". This shows that the Kingship of Messiah is essential to the gospel message. The promise of the coming King being raised up was made unto the fathers i.e. the patriarchs of Israel such as Abraham, Isaac, Israel, Judah and David. This promise even goes back to Noah and Adam. The fulfillment of the promise was made to our (Israel's) children. The children that the promise was made to was the very children of the Patriarchs which are clearly the children of Israel (Matthew 15:24). It's important to remember that the angel Gabriel told Mary that her Son Jehoshua would reign over the house of Israel forever. It makes then that the promise of the Davidic King was fulfilled to our (Israel's) children. The raising up of Jehoshua is connected with the phrase "Thou art my Son; this day have I begotten thee". This raising up is the same as the raising up of David: Acts 13:22 "And when he had removed him, he raised up David to be their king; to whom also he bare witness and said, I have found David the son of Jesse, a man after My heart, who shall do all My will" Notice that the raising up of David was in connection with him being King. This is also in connection with Saul being removed as King. 1 Samuel 16:13 is the raising up of David as King as Samuel anointed him. This shows that the raising up of Jehoshua is in the same context which is when he was anointed as King. When was he anointed as King? John 1:49 shows that he was confessed as King of Israel and the Son of God two days after his baptism. The very next verse of Acts 13 shows that Jehoshua's baptism was his being raised up as Israel's King: Acts 13:23-24 23 Of this man`s seed hath God according to promise brought unto Israel a Saviour, Jehoshua; 24 when John had first preached before his coming the baptism of repentance to all the people of Israel. The raising up of a Saviour unto Israel was in connection with Jehoshu's baptism showing that the quotation of Psalm 2:7 in Acts 13:33 is about his baptism. Acts 13:34 "And as concerning that he raised him up from the dead, now no more to return to corruption, he hath spoken on this wise, I will give you the holy and sure blessings of David" Now in verse 34 Paul speaks about the resurrection. The word "And" denotes that Paul is moving on to a different event from what he said in verse 33. It was at Jehoshua's resurrection and subsequent ascension that he was enthroned as King of Israel on the throne of David. Paul is quoting from Isaiah 55:3 which reads: 3 Incline your ear, and come unto me; hear, and your soul shall live: and I will make an everlasting covenant with you, even the sure mercies of David. 4 Behold, I have given him for a witness to the peoples, a leader and commander to the peoples. Too many Christians overlook this. Paul's quotation of Isaiah 55;3-4 shows emphatically that upon Jehoshua's resurrection and ascension that he fulfilled the Davidic covenant and was given to Israel as their commander (King/General). The everlasting covenant mentioned in verse 3 is the sure mercies of David which is the covenant Jehovah God made with him. Unlike what the futurists teach Paul says that the sure blessings of the Davidic covenant are fulfilled. This means that Jehoshua is already on the throne of David and that he is already the King of Israel and that he has already united the Southern and Northern Kingdoms. In order for what Paul said to be true Jehoshua had to have been given all of the below at his resurrection/ascension: 2 Samuel 7:12-16 12 When thy days are fulfilled, and thou shalt sleep with thy fathers, I will set up thy seed after thee, that shall proceed out of thy bowels, and I will establish his kingdom. 13 He shall build a house for my name, and I will establish the throne of his kingdom for ever. 14 I will be his father, and he shall be my son: if he commit iniquity, I will chasten him with the rod of men, and with the stripes of the children of men; 15 but my lovingkindness shall not depart from him, as I took it from Saul, whom I put away before thee. 16 And thy house and thy kingdom shall be made sure for ever before thee: thy throne shall be established for ever. * Obviously, David's days were fulfilled by the time Jehoshua was resurrected so that criteria was met. * Jehoshua's Kingdom was established as Paul says that upon conversion we are translated into the Son of God's Kingdom (Colossians 1:12-13). * The house that Jehoshua is building is the new covenant temple which is the church in which he bears the glory (Zechariah 6;9-15). * All throughout Jehoshua's ministry he was acknowledged as the Son of God and also verified this himself hence "I will be his father and he shall be my son". * Concrete proof that Jehoshua received the throne of David is stated by Peter in the first sermon of the new covenant (Acts 2:29-36). The above are the blessings of the Davidic covenant and in order for Jehoshua to received the sure blessings of David he would have had to receive all of the above. This exposes the Dispensationalist/ Futurist doctrine as utter demonic heresy. Acts 2:29-36 29 Brethren, I may say unto you freely of the patriarch David, that he both died and was buried, and his tomb is with us unto this day. 30 Being therefore a prophet, and knowing that God had sworn with an oath to him, that of the fruit of his loins he would set [one] upon his throne; 31 he foreseeing [this] spake of the resurrection of the Christ, that neither was he left unto Hades, nor did his flesh see corruption. 32 This Jehoshua did God raise up, whereof we all are witnesses. 33 Being therefore by the right hand of God exalted, and having received of the Father the promise of the Holy Spirit, he hath poured forth this, which ye see and hear. 34 For David ascended not into the heavens: but he saith himself, The Lord said unto my Lord, Sit thou on my right hand, 35 Till I make thine enemies the footstool of thy feet. 36 Let all the house of Israel therefore know assuredly, that God hath made him both Lord and Christ, this Jesus whom ye crucified. This is the first public sermon of the new covenant and it is noteworthy the content of it. Peter squarely zeros in on the Davidic covenant and Jehoshua being the fulfillment of it. Peter acknowledges David as one of the patriarchs of Israel. This is one of the patriarchs that Paul says the promise of the good tidings were made to. Peter says that David is dead and in his tomb dispelling the notion that when we die we go to heaven. This is important because it contrasts with Jehoshua being resurrected from the dead proving that Jehoshua is the fulfilment of the promise made to David. Peter also says that David was a prophet and refers to the Davidic covenant that Jehovah God lade with David. The main part of that covenant was that Jehovah would set the fruit of David's loins (male sexual organs) upon his (David's) throne and establish it forever. According to Peter, what event did David prophesy this being fulfilled? In verse 31 of Acts 2, Peter says it took place at the resurrection of the Messiah. This shows us that the futurist doctrine that Jehoshua is not on the throne of David yet is false and Satanic. This also proves that the Kingdom of Jehoshua started at his ascension into heaven and is not gonna start in some future millennium. Peter continues with the resurrection statement in verse 32 and says that God raised up Jehoshua. This shows us that there is a sharp distinction between God and Jehoshua and that Jehoshua truly died and did not float to heaven as a disembodied soul. Verse 33, the reference to Jehoshua being at the right hand of God is alluding to Psalm 110:1 which is the most alluded to old testament verse in the new covenant. This should tell us something and that is that the Davidic covenant is of paramount importance in the new covenant. Jehoshua's resurrection and ascension is when he was exalted as King to God's right hand in the holy of holies in the heavenly sanctuary. This shows that Jehoshua didn't always occupy this type of exaltation but that is was given him from Jehovah God. Jehoshua received the holy Spirit from the Father upon his ascension and poured it out upon the apostles. Psalm 110:1 is quoted by Peter in verse 34 and 35. This is a resurrection and Kingship text and as stated above the most referenced old testament verse in the new testament. In verse 36, Peter proclaims to the house of Israel that Jehoshua has been made both King and Messiah by Jehovah God. This reference to the house of Israel is key as they were about to be gathered into the commonwealth by the apostles. It was likely that the house of Judah was more represented at the feast but clearly Peter is making it known that the house of Israel was going to be given the message of Jehoshua being made their King. 1 Timothy 6:14-17 14 that thou keep the commandment, without spot, without reproach, until the appearing of our Lord Jehoshua Messiah: 15 which in its own times he shall show, who is the blessed and only Potentate, the King of kings, and Lord of lords; 16 who only hath immortality, dwelling in light unapproachable; whom no man hath seen, nor can see: to whom [be] honor and power eternal. Amen. Paul encourages Timothy to remain faithful until the second advent of Jehoshua. Paul uses the word appearing which clearly denotes a physical coming and not just a spiritual one. In the time of his second advent Jehoshua will show who is the only Potentate (mighty, great authority, ruler) over the earth. This does not exclude the Father but is in regards to human rulers and powers that are on the earth. It could also include angelic ones but it is likely about the earthly ones since the second advent is in view. This fits perfectly with Revelation 11:15: "And the seventh angel sounded; and there followed great voices in heaven, and they said, The kingdom of the world is become the kingdom of our Lord, and of his Christ: and he shall reign for ever and ever" This verse is speaking of the last trump sounding and the arrival of the Messiah to war against the kingdoms of this world to take the earth as his possession (Psalms 2:8-9). It will be in this day that the Kingdoms of this world become the kingdoms of our Lord and of his Christ. There are two ways to read this verse, one way is to understand the Lord as the Father (Jehovah) and Christ as Jesus. This seems to be the most obvious reading, however it can also be rendered as the Lord (Jesus) and his anointed ones (Christ). Alot of people seem to forget that Christ is a title for Jesus and not a proper name. We need to remember that the word "Christ" means anointed one and can refer to any Christian/Messianic. The passage could mean that the kingdoms of this world will become the kingoms of Jesus and his anointed ones (Christians). The bible does teach that we (the saints) will be given the Kingdom under the whole heaven (Daniel 7:27). The phrase King of kings and Lord of Lords that Paul uses in 1 Timothy 6:15 is also used of Jehoshua in Revelation 19:16 "And he hath on his garment and on his thigh a name written, KINGS OF KINGS, AND LORD OF LORDS" Just as in 1 Timothy, this phrase is used of Jehoshua in connection with his second advent. Paul says in it's own times Jehoshua will show that he is King of kings and Lord of Lords. Jehoshua said that the Father is the only one who knows when he will come back. All man's attempts at predicting the time of Jehoshua's arrival is futile and in direct disobedience to Jehovah God. We will go back to Revelation 19 to detail exactly how Jehoshua shows that he is King of kings and Lord of Lords. First, let's continue in 1 Timothy 6. In verse 16 Paul says that Jehoshua only has immortality. This statement proves that Jehoshua is the only human being ever to be resurrected from the dead. It also shows that the idea of going to heaven when we die is false, otherwise Paul wouldn't have made this statement that only Jehoshua has immortality. Obviously, Paul is contrasting Jehoshua with other men since God the Father and the angels have innate immortality. If the saints die and go to heaven Paul's statement, that only Jehoshua has seen the Father, doesn't make sense. Paul is clear that no man hath seen the Father nor can see the Father. Paul says that Jehoshua dwells in light unapproachable. The light unapproachable is the Father who dwells in the holy of holies in the heavenly sanctuary. This fits perfectly with what John says in his gospel: John 1:18 "No man hath seen God at any time; the only begotten Son, who is in the bosom of the Father, he hath declared [him]" Dwelling in light unapproachable is the same as what John says above that Jehoshua dwells in the bosom of the Father. This is a resurrection text. The bosom of the Father is the holy of holies in the heavenly temple. John, like Paul, says that no one can see the Father. This shows that the immortality of the souls is a false doctrine as many should have been able to see the Father if they died and went to heaven. Back to 1st Timothy 6, a final note is that Paul connects Jehoshua being King of kings and Lord of Lords with his being in the holy of holies (light unapproachable. This again connects the resurrection with the Kingship of Messiah as it was the event of the resurrection and ascension that brought Jehoshua into the presence of Jehovah God (Daniel 7:131-4). Revelation 19:11-12 11 And I saw the heaven opened; and behold, a white horse, and he that sat thereon called Faithful and True; and in righteous he doth judge and make war. 12 And his eyes [are] a flame of fire, and upon his head [are] many diadems; and he hath a name written which no one knoweth but he himself. Jehoshua is the faithful and true witness of Jehovah God (Isaiah 43:10; Revelation 1:5). He comes back on a white horse. This shows us that Jehoshua is the rider on the white horse in Revelation chapter 6: "And I saw, and behold, a white horse, and he that sat thereon had a bow; and there was given unto him a crown: and he came forth conquering, and to conquer" This is the opening of the 1st seal which coincides with Jehoshua's ascension. He is given a crown which is the crown of David. This proves that this seal takes place at the ascension of the Messiah was into heaven where he was enthroned on the throne of David. Revelation 12:5 parallels this passage as well as the man child was caught up to Jehovah's throne. The conquering is the King Jehoshua conquering the world with the gospel of the Kingdom. History shows that indeed that is what has happened during the new covenant church age as the gospel has spread all over the world. At the second advent Jehoshua comes back to make war against the nations. His eyes as a flame of fire indicate judgment. The Son of God Jehoshua has been given to judge all nations at the last day (Matthew 25:31-46). John 5:22 "For neither doth the Father judge any man, but he hath given all judgment unto the Son" All will stand before the judgment seat of the Messiah (Romans 14:10). On his head are many diadems (crowns). Jehoshua wears a majestic glorious crown. He only wears one crown not many. The plural "diadems (crowns)" is a plural of majesty meaning the plural is used to denote the greatness of the crown. This is the Davidic crown. The name which known one knows but Jehoshua is debated among believers. Some say this is "the word of God" as that is mentioned in the very next verse. However, verse 12 says this is a name that only Jehoshua knows and it seems strange that the name would be revealed just one verse later. I believe Jeremiah 23:6 may have the answer as to what Jehoshua's new name will be: Jeremiah 23:5-6 5 Behold, the days come, saith Jehovah, that I will raise unto David a righteous Branch, and he shall reign as king and deal wisely, and shall execute justice and righteousness in the land. 6 In his days Judah shall be saved, and Israel shall dwell safely; and this is his name whereby he shall be called: Jehovah our righteousness. This is a second advent text. In the day of Jehovah God, which is the last day of this age, a righteous Branch of David will be raised up and bring his Kingdom here to the earth and execute justice and righteous in the land (new heaven and new earth). That is the day of salvation for the house of Judah and the house of Israel (Revelation 7; Revelation 21:12). The Davidic Branch's name will be Jehovah our Righteousness in that day, which is when the eternal Kingdom will come to earth. As the only begotten Son Jehoshua has inherited his Father's name. In fact, all the saints are called by Jehovah's name. Jehoshua is the express image of Jehovah God i.e. the perfect representation of Jehovah's righteousness. Revelation 19:13-14 13 And he is arrayed in a garment sprinkled with blood: and his name is called The Word of God. 14 And the armies which are in heaven followed him upon white horses, clothed in fine linen, white and pure. Verse 13 alludes to the birthright given to Judah back in Genesis 49:11 "Binding his foal unto the vine, And his ass`s colt unto the choice vine; He hath washed his garments in wine, And his vesture in the blood of grapes" It is given to the Judean King the pleasure of killing his enemies and having their blood spilled on his garments. This is no different with Jehoshua as verse 13 of Revelation 19 says that this is exactly what Jehoshua is going to do when he comes back (spill his enemies blood). The angelic armies accompany Jehoshua down to the earth to wage war on the nations. Churches today try to posit the second advent of the Son of God as some mystical event where Jehoshua will just wisk the saints away and snap his fingers and make the wicked into dust. If that was the case the angels would not be needed. Everything about the day of Jehovah indicates a very physical war between Jehoshua and the wicked nations. Revelation 19:15-16 15 And out of his mouth proceedeth a sharp sword, that with it he should smite the nations: and he shall rule them with a rod of iron: and he treadeth the winepress of the fierceness of the wrath of God, the Almighty. 16 And he hath on his garment and on his thigh a name written, KINGS OF KINGS, AND LORD OF LORDS. Jehoshua will smite the nations with his sword and with a rod of iron. Verse 15 seems to indicate that he will rule over the nations politically, however this is quoted from Psalm 2;9 where it says: "Thou shalt break them with a rod of iron; Thou shalt dash them in pieces like a potter`s vessel" The result of Jehoshua ruling the nations with a rod of iron is that they will be dashed in pieces like a potter's vessel. The rod of iron is the staff that a shepherd uses to protect his sheep. Jehoshua is coming to deliver his sheep which are the house of Israel and the house of Judah. Again, the language of treading the winepress brings us back to Genesis 49;11 and Isaiah 63. Just like the old testament the new testament posits Jehoshua as a Warrior King that pours out the blood of his enemies. Jehoshua will tread on the grapes of wrath (the wicked) and squeeze their blood out and stain his garments completely. He does this on behalf of his Father Jehovah. It is his Father's wrath that Jehoshua avenges and pours out. Like Father like Son, both are warriors (Exodus 15:3). John is shown in vision that Jehoshua has the same titles Paul mentions in 1 Timothy 6:15. Jehoshua is the King of those who reign as kings and Lord of those who reign as Lords. As Paul said, Jehoshua will show the nations who is the ultimate King and Lord. This passage in Revelation 19 is exactly how Jehoshua shows them. Revelation 19:17-18 17 And I saw an angel standing in the sun; and he cried with a loud voice, saying to all the birds that fly in mid heaven, Come [and] be gathered together unto the great supper of God; 18 that ye may eat the flesh of kings, and the flesh of captains, and the flesh of mighty men, and the flesh of horses and of them that sit thereon, and the flesh of all men, both free and bond, and small and great. The marriage supper of the Lamb is for the saints and it will be on the new heaven and new earth. The great supper of God will be on the earth as well but it will be for the wicked and the wicked will be the supper. The birds of the air will be the guests and they will eat the flesh of those who the Messiah kills. There will be no mercy for the unbelieving no matter their economic or social status as they all will be killed by the Son of God. From the fortune 500 CEO to the sweet lady that knits on her rocking chair, their flesh will be eaten by the birds of heaven. Kings and captains will be part of this meal as well as Jehoshua will overthrow the nations and kill the heads of many countries (Psalm 110). Again, all men both free and bond (slaves) will suffer the same fate of being devoured by the birds if they are not written in the lambs book of life. Revelation 19:19 "And I saw the beast, and the kings of the earth, and their armies, gathered together to make war against him that sat upon the horse, and against his army" The Antichrist Papacy and the kings of the earth will assemble the armies of the earth to make war with King Jehoshua and his armies. It is very likely that the Papacy and the world leaders will claim that the second advent of Messiah is an alien invasion and that the world needs to unite against it. They have already conditioned people through movies that one day their will be an alien invasion and the world will unite to defeat it through military. Revelation 19:20-21 20 And the beast was taken, and with him the false prophet that wrought the signs in his sight, wherewith he deceived them that had received the mark of the beast and them that worshipped his image: they two were cast alive into the lake of fire that burneth with brimstone: 21 and the rest were killed with the sword of him that sat upon the horse, [even the sword] which came forth out of his mouth: and all the birds were filled with their flesh. Jehoshua will cast both the Antichrist and false prophet into the lake of fire. The Papacy is the Antichrist and the false prophet is Protestant America. It will be likely that the representative of Protestant America will be the one thrown into the lake of fire. This could be some big name leader of the evangelical church or a President of the U.S. The "rest" signifying those in verse 18 who were eaten by the birds of the air are also cast into the lake of fire. These are the kings, military men, great men of the earth (rich and/or famous) and those of humble estate such as the poor and regular everyday people. There will be no survivors as only the righteous (meek) will inherit the earth (Matthew, 5:5). These labeled the "rest" are killed with the sword of the Son of God Jehoshua, showing that the Messiah literally kills people when he comes back. The unbelieving will be killed by Jehoshua's army with their swords (Psalm 149). The saints and the angels have this honor. ReplyForward Jehoshua the Son of God, King of Israel said that the end would come once the gospel of the Kingdom was preached in all the "world". What modern Christianity has to ask itself, is why hasn't Jehoshua come back after 2,000 years since his sorjourn on earth?
Christendom must examine itself closely to see if indeed they have faithfully fulfilled this mandate made by Jehoshua. Matthew 24:14 "And this gospel of the kingdom shall be preached in the whole world for a testimony unto all the nations; and then shall the end come" Even though Churchianty has largely gone unto the ends of the earth with their version of the gospel the Messiah has still not come back. False rapture predictions come and go and yet no sign of the Son of God's parousia (advent-appearance). Let's list the basic teachings of modern Christianity that comprise their version of the gospel: Daniel 7:27 "And the kingdom and the dominion, and the greatness of the kingdoms under the whole heaven, shall be given to the people of the saints of the Most High: his kingdom is an everlasting kingdom, and all dominions shall serve and obey him" * God is a trinity * Jehoshua is a God-man * The inheritance of the saints is heaven * The way to immortality is to die and go to heaven as a disembodied soul * The law is done away with * The new covenant is made with a non Israelite gentile church These are the main doctrines of the Church and with all their bluster against the Catholic Church these doctrines are rooted in Roman Catholicism. These very doctrines are, at their heart, antagonistic towards the Kingdom gospel. Although the various denominations differ on what exactly is the gospel of the Kingdom, they all fall dramatically short of what it actually is. Dispensationalism posits it as just a Jewish thing with the gentiles being up in heaven via a secret pre trib rapture. Seventh day Adventism teaches that the millennium ia up in heaven while the earth lies desolate. Some denominations actually teach that this very earth will be destroyed like the death star in star wars. Not all denominations are far off the mark but they still let traditional church doctrines obscure the Kingdom gospel. In fact, if any denomination teaches any of the above doctrines they are falling short of teaching the full Kingdom message. This is why it's important to come out of all false doctrines no matter how popular they are in the mainstream Christian world. The sooner we do that the sooner we preach the real gospel and the sooner Jehoshua will come back to consummate his Kingdom on the earth. So if the above doctrines constitute a false gospel message, let's look at what doctrines are part of the gospel of the Kingdom: * God is one singular person * Jehoshua is fully man * The inheritance of the saints is on earth * The way to immortality is to be resurrected bodily from the dead * The law of Jehovah is eternal * The new covenant is made with the house of Judah and the house of Israel Isaiah 52:7 "How beautiful upon the mountains are the feet of him that bringeth good tidings, that publisheth peace, that bringeth good tidings of good, that publisheth salvation, that saith unto Zion, Thy God reigneth!" The gospel (good tidings) is not something unique to the new testament as it was preached here by Isaiah. In the surrounding context of Isaiah 52 we see that the gospel is about and for Israel. In the false gospel of Christendom Israel is merely an aside to the gospel. Notice that the bringing of the gospel is beautiful to those who are in ear shot. Modern Christendom with it's false immortal soul doctrine has perverted the gospel by making Jehovah God a monster that eternally tortutes people. Also, the gospel is called good news not bad news. It ia good news for Israel but not her enemies. Central to the gospel is the Messianic servant of Jehovah which we know to be Jehoshua (Isaiah 53). Isaiah 53 takes us back to Genesis 22 and the object lesson of the gospel in Abraham and Isaac. Paul himself said that the gospel was preached to Abraham. Galatians 3:8 "And the scripture, foreseeing that God would justify the nations by faith, preached the gospel beforehand unto Abraham, saying, In thee shall all the nations be blessed" All nations are the nations that came out of Abraham's seed (Isaac) and then subsequently Jacob (Israel). The Galatians were Israelites from the Northern Kingdom. Nonetheless Paul confirms that the gospel is not a new covenant invention. When we truly understand that the gospel of the Kingdom is clearly shown throughout the old testament then we won't be decieved by the Edomites (modern Jewry) that try to deny that the old testament teaches about a suffering Messiah who would be killed as a sacrifice and resurrected. Chapters 51 and 54 which surround the gospel of the Kingdom show that the Abrahamic covenant is an integral and central part of the gospel. This means that the Abrahamic blessings of his descendants numbering the stars of the sky and possessing the gates of his enemies is paramount to the gospel of the Kingdom. Unfortunately, modern Christendom leaves these important truths out of their message and has basically releagted the gospel to dying and going to heaven and Jesus being God. Let's first deal with the most important aspect of the Kingdom which is that God is a singular person. Satan has done a masterful job of perverting the most simple and easy to understand part of scripture which is that God is one: John 17:3 "And this is life eternal, that they should know thee the only true God, and him whom thou didst send, even Jehoshua Messiah." These are the words of Jehoshua praying ti the Father. Jehoshua acknowledges the Father as the only (monos- alone) true God. It's unfortunate that most people don't believe the simple words of Jehoshua. Mark 12:28-30 28 And one of the scribes came, and heard them questioning together, and knowing that he had answered them well, asked him, What commandment is the first of all? 29 Jehoshua answered, The first is, Hear, O Israel; Jehovah our God, Jehovah is one: 30 and thou shalt love Jehovah thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind, and with all thy strength. Out of Jehoshua's own mouth he says that Jehovah God is one (heis-singular) and that to know this is the most important commandment. Part of worshipping God with all our hearts, mind and strength is to hearken (hear) that Jehovah God is one singular person. Who does Jehoshua say true worshippers worship? John 4:23-24 23 But the hour cometh, and now is, when the true worshippers shall worship the Father in spirit and truth: for such doth the Father seek to be his worshippers. 24 God is a Spirit: and they that worship him must worship in spirit and truth. Notice that Jehoshua doesn't include himself and the holy spirit in marking who the true worshippers worship. The Son of God says that the true worshippers worship the Father. In fact the very first commandment of the decalogue prohibits worship of any other God than Jehovah: Exodus 20:1-3 1 And God spake all these words, saying, 2 I am Jehovah thy God, who brought thee out of the land of Egypt, out of the house of bondage. 3 Thou shalt have no other gods before me. We know that it is Jehovah God who is the God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob (Exodus 3:15). Who does Peter the apostle identify the God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob as? Acts 3:13 "The God of Abraham, and of Isaac, and of Jacob, the God of our fathers, hath glorified his Servant Jehoshua; whom ye delivered up, and denied before the face of Pilate, when he had determined to release him" The God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob is the God of His servant Jehoshua. And remember Jehoshua identified the one true God as the Father alone (John 17:3). This brings us to our next Kingdom subject, the nature of Jehoshua. As stated above, the churches of Christendom preach that Jehoshua is a God-man, God in the flesh and 100 percent man and a 100 percent God. This doctrine is called the hypostatic union and it is one of the pillars of the trinity doctrine. This doctrine has effectively obscured the true nature of the Messiah and who he is according to the prophets and the importance of his Davidic lineage. Both the doctrine of the triune god and Jehoshua being a god man has created a false gospel more akin to Greek mythology. These doctrines have basically all but destroyed the foundational Israelite Kingdom gospel of a Father-Son relationship between Jehovah God and His Davidic king. Amazingly, the Father-Son relationship of Jehovah God and Jehoshua is featured prominently all over the new testament yet mainstream churchianty still manages to screw this beautiful truth up. Deuteronomy 18:15 "Jehovah thy God will raise up unto thee a prophet from the midst of thee, of thy brethren, like unto me; unto him ye shall hearken' Mainstream churches have virtually ignored this passage and have screwed this up too. They have made Jehoshua to be Jehovah God even though it says that Jehoshua would be the prophet raised up by Jehovah God. The nature of this prophet is laid out clearly as being of the stock (genetics) of his brethren (Israel). He would be like Moses, a full human of Israelite seed. This destroys the blasphemous hypostatic union doctrine of the God-man. 2 Samuel 7:12-14 12 When thy days are fulfilled, and thou shalt sleep with thy fathers, I will set up thy seed after thee, that shall proceed out of thy bowels, and I will establish his kingdom. 13 He shall build a house for my name, and I will establish the throne of his kingdom for ever. 14 I will be his father, and he shall be my son: if he commit iniquity, I will chasten him with the rod of men, and with the stripes of the children of men; This is the foundation of who Jehoshua is and it is repeated throughout all the old testament and confirmed in the new testament. The prophesied Messianic King was to come out of the bowels (male seat of generation) and he would be of the seed (sperm) of David. Jehovah God is a Spirit and doesn't have seed. The passage proves that Jehoshua would be a full human being and of the seed (sperm) of a man. Jehovah promised David that his royal descendants would establish his dynasty (kingdom) forever. Jehovah also established a Father-son covenant relationship with the royal seed of David. Of course we know that Jehoshua was the ultimate fulfillment of this covenant. How important is this in terms of the identity of Jehoshua and how we preach him? We'll in the first new covenant public sermon Peter thought it was pretty important: Acts 2:29-31 29 Brethren, I may say unto you freely of the patriarch David, that he both died and was buried, and his tomb is with us unto this day. 30 Being therefore a prophet, and knowing that God had sworn with an oath to him, that of the fruit of his loins he would set [one] upon his throne; 31 he foreseeing [this] spake of the resurrection of the Messiah, that neither was he left unto Hades, nor did his flesh see corruption. Peter gleans from the Davidic covenant and verifies that Jehoshua was of the fruit of David's loins (male sexual organs) and that he ascended to the throne of David upon his resurrection as prophesied by David in Psalm 110:1. See how beautiful this truth is? Yet, because of Christendom's false trinity and god-man doctrine it has been largely ignored. The result has been the preaching of another "Jehoshua" which brings another"spirit and another "gospel". 2nd Corinthians 11:3-4 3 But I fear, lest by any means, as the serpent beguiled Eve in his craftiness, your minds should be corrupted from the simplicity and the purity that is toward Christ. 4 For if he that cometh preacheth another Jesus, whom we did not preach, or [if] ye receive a different spirit, which ye did not receive, or a different gospel, which ye did not accept, ye do well to bear with [him]. This exactly describes the trinity, a doctrine of craftiness and one that beguiles Christians away from simplicity of one God and Jehoshua being His Son. The doctrine of the trinity is a confusing doctrine that most Christian's cannot explain including so called Pastors. This doctrine was brought into the church more than 350 years after Jehoshua's resurrection. Those who promote this doctrine have twist all kinds of verses to make the trinity fit the bible. They have to use greek metaphysics and philosophy to justify the trinity. This is the work of Satan which is to turn a simple yet beautiful truth into a complicated philosophical web. John the beloved apostle said that no lie is of the truth (1 John 2:21) . John said this in the context of those who deny that Jehoshua is the Son of God. Preaching a different Jehoshua leads to a different spirit. There are only two spirits in the world, the spirit of Messiah and the spirit of anti-messiah. Unfortunately this marks out trinitarians as ultimately having another spirit. 1 John 4:1-2 1 Beloved, believe not every spirit, but prove the spirits, whether they are of God; because many false prophets are gone out into the world. 2 Hereby know ye the Spirit of God: every spirit that confesseth that Jehoshua Messiah is come in the flesh is of God: How do we know that someone is a false prophet? When they teach that Jehoshua is anything other than fully human (come in the flesh). Of course, trinitarians twist this to mean that Jesus is God in the flesh but as you can see it means no such thing. Come in the flesh simply means to be manifested (appear, made evident) in the flesh. The passage is just saying that anyone who doesn't acknowledge that Jehoshua is the Messiah and has already come is anti-messiah. How would an Israelite know that Jehoshua was the true Messiah? If he was of the seed of David and the brethren of Israel as stated above. Also, it was prophesied that he would be of the tribe of Judah: Genesis 49:8-10 8 Judah, thee shall thy brethren praise: Thy hand shall be on the neck of thine enemies; Thy father`s sons shall bow down before thee. 9 Judah is a lion`s whelp; From the prey, my son, thou art gone up: He stooped down, he couched as a lion, And as a lioness; who shall rouse him up? 10 The sceptre shall not depart from Judah, Nor the ruler`s staff from between his feet, Until Shiloh come: And unto him shall the obedience of the peoples be. The Kingship was promised to Judah out of all the tribes so this means that the Messianic King of bible prophecy would be of the tribe of Judah. This is exactly what is said about Jehoshua in the new testament: Hebrews 7:14 "For it is evident that our Lord hath sprung out of Judah; as to which tribe Moses spake nothing concerning priests" The new testament understanding of the nature of the Messiah is no different from what the old testament understanding was. Galatians 3:14 "that upon the Nations might come the blessing of Abraham in Messiah Jehoshua; that we might receive the promise of the Spirit through faith" The promised Messiah was to be of the seed of Abraham thereby having the inheritance of the blessings of Abraham. Genesis 3:19 "What then is the law? It was added because of transgressions, till the seed should come to whom the promise hath been made; [and it was] ordained through angels by the hand of a mediator" Jehoshua is that seed that was to come to whom the promises of the Abrahamic blessings were made. See John 1:50 for the Son of God's claims of being the inheritor of these blessings. Genesis 3:15 "and I will put enmity between thee and the woman, and between thy seed and her seed: he shall bruise thy head, and thou shalt bruise his heel" It would be a descendant of Eve that would crush Satan under foot. Look at both the genealogies of the Messiah in Matthew and Luke and you will see that he is throughouly a human being and not some sort of God man or hybrid divine human being. Jehoshua does have the fullness of Jehovah's Spirit in him and that's what makes him special along with being the promised and chosed Davidic King of bible prophecy. Now on to the subject of the inheritance of the saints. Modern Churches teach that the inheritance of the saints is in heaven. This is the summation of their gospel. We will see from this study that it indeed is a false gospel. Proverbs 2:22 "But the wicked shall be cut off from the land, And the treacherous shall be rooted out of it" The churches teach the exact opposite of this. They teach that the righteous shall be cut off from the land via the rapture. Matthew 5:5 "Blessed are the meek: for they shall inherit the earth" These are Jehoshua's words and he clearly says that the meek i.e. those that inherit salvation will inherit the earth. Just a few verses later he says: "Blessed are they that have been persecuted for righteousness` sake: for theirs is the kingdom of heaven" (verse 10). If Jehoshua says that the meek will inherit the earth and also says theirs is the Kingdom of heaven then this shows that the Kingdom of heaven will be on the earth. Technically we do go to and inherit heaven but it will be on the earth. Listen to Jehoshua's words in Revelation 3:12: "He that overcometh, I will make him a pillar in the temple of my God, and he shall go out thence no more: and I will write upon him the name of my God, and the name of the city of my God, the new Jerusalem, which cometh down out of heaven from my God, and mine own new name" Heaven (New Jersuslem) will come down from out of heaven to earth after the second advent of the Messiah. Revelation 21:1-3 1 And I saw a new heaven and a new earth: for the first heaven and the first earth are passed away; and the sea is no more. 2 And I saw the holy city, new Jerusalem, coming down out of heaven of God, made ready as a bride adorned for her husband. 3 And I heard a great voice out of the throne saying, Behold, the tabernacle of God is with men, and he shall dwell with them, and they shall be his peoples, and God himself shall be with them, [and be] their God: New Jerusalem, which is called the tabernacle of God, will come down out of heaven so that Jehovah God can dwell with man. Jehovah God is coming down to us not the other way around. Daniel 7:27 "And the kingdom and the dominion, and the greatness of the kingdoms under the whole heaven, shall be given to the people of the saints of the Most High: his kingdom is an everlasting kingdom, and all dominions shall serve and obey him" Do you see what is given to the saints of the most high? Daniel the prophet says the greatness, dominion and kingdoms under the whole heaven. It doesn't say in heaven but the kingdoms under heaven. Revelation 11:15 "And the seventh angel sounded; and there followed great voices in heaven, and they said, The kingdom of the world is become the kingdom of our God, and of his Messiah: and he shall reign for ever and ever" The seventh trump sounds the announcement that the kingdom of this world becomes the kingdom of Jehovah God and His Messiah. This matches Daniel 7:27 that the inheritance of the Messiah and the Saints is not in heaven but rather on earth in the kingdom and dominion under the whole heaven. The verse above in revelation proves that the eternal Kingdom of the Son of God is earthly not Heavenly. Otherwise it would make no sense to say that the kingdom of the world has become the kingdom of our God and His Messiah since the kingdoms of the world are on earth. Jehoshua's parables in Matthew 13 regarding the wheat and the tares and the dragnet further prove that it is the wicked that get raptured not the righteous. Jehoshua said that the tares (children of the devil) are taken away and bound and then cast into the furnace of fire. He said that anyone that causes iniquity will be gathered out from his kingdom. If Jehoshua's Kingdom is on the earth then clearly it is the wicked who are raptured not the righteous. Jehoshua said that after those who cause stumbling are taken away then the righteous shall: "shine forth as the sun in the kingdom of their Father. He that hath ears, let him hear" (Matthew 13:43). We also have this verse: Revelation 5:9-10 9 And they sing a new song, saying, Worthy art thou to take the book, and to open the seals thereof: for thou was slain, and didst purchase unto God with thy blood men of every tribe, and tongue, and people, and nation, 10 and madest them [ to be unto our God a kingdom and priests; and they reign upon earth. Even now, we reign upon the earth by way of the Son of God's shed blood on the cross. This is said in the present tense (1st century). This means that the Kingdom of the Son of God is already here and even though it is headquartered in New Jerusalem it is also present on earth. So far, as integral to the Kingdom gospel, we have the doctrine that God is one singular person who is both the God and Father of Jehoshua Messiah. Also, that Jehoshua is fully human of the seed of David and that the inheritance of the saints is on the earth. On the three most important teachings of the Kingdom the Protestant/Evangelical/Catholic miss badly and teach a false gospel. Yet there is more, when we address the next three doctrines of the Kingdom we will see that mainstream Christianity is basically a false religion. The immortality of the soul is a teaching that is pretty much universally held by all the churches in Christendom no matter the denomination and no matter if they have a 501 C 3 status. This doctrine is connected with the idea that the saints go to heaven when they die and the wicked go to a burning hell when they die to be tortured forever. There are some denominations that do not hold to this but overall the majority do hold to the immortality of the soul. This doctrine has probably done the most damage to the credibility of the Christian faith than any other doctrine. It is a doctrine that completely contradicts the plan of salvation and also makes of none effect the resurrection of the dead. The resurrection of the dead is a key component to the gospel of the Kingdom especially in the new testament. It is posited as being the hope of the saints. If we go to heaven as disembodied souls when we die then what is the point of the resurrection. Why isn't the dying and going to heaven as disembodied souls ever the hope that Paul gives to the saints? Not only Paul but any of the biblical writers. To the contrary, over and over again Paul preaches the resurrection as the hope of the believer. In fact, the resurrection is the central theme of the gospel of the Kingdom from the book of Acts onwards. It is taught in the old testament and in the gospels as well. It is taught as the mechanism by which one gains immortality. The modern churches with their false doctrine of the immortality of the soul all but nullify the resurrection of the dead. 1st Thessalonians 4:13-15 13 But we would not have you ignorant, brethren, concerning them that fall asleep; that ye sorrow not, even as the rest, who have no hope. 14 For if we believe that Jehoshua died and rose again, even so them also that are fallen asleep in Jesus will God bring with him. 15 For this we say unto you by the word of the Lord, that we that are alive, that are left unto the coming of the Lord, shall in no wise precede them that are fallen asleep. This passage is revealing as Paul does not mention anything about the deceased brethren in heaven. Why wouldn't he if he is trying to comfort the Thessalonians who are mourning over them? Isn't this what Pastor's do today at funerals? They comfort the audience with the idea that their dead loved one is in heaven. Yet Paul doesn't do this, instead he reminds them of the resurrection of Jehoshua Messiah. Why is this? Because the resurrection of Messiah is our hope for immortality. If we go to heaven when we die then would there be a need for Paul to say this: 1 Corinthians 15:16-19 16 For if the dead rise not, then is not Christ raised: 17 And if Christ be not raised, your faith is vain; ye are yet in your sins. 18 Then they also which are fallen asleep in Christ are perished. 19 If in this life only we have hope in Christ, we are of all men most miserable. Why would it matter whether Messiah rose from the dead if he went to heaven when he died? And why would it matter if there was no resurrection if we simply went to heaven when we died? If that was the case then the resurrection would be made if none effect and whether there was one or not would have no consequence for believers and the gospel as a whole. Paul's comfort to the Thessalonian believers is that their dead loved ones will precede them in the resurrection and then they will be joined to them in the cloud. This makes no sense if believers die and go to heaven otherwise Paul would have comforted the Thessalonians with those words such as: "sorrow not, your dead brethren are already in heaven". The Son of God Jehoshua heavily emphasizes the resurrection at the last day. Why is this? Because the resurrection is the way to immortality for the saints not dying and going to heaven as disembodied souls. John 5:25 "Verily, verily, I say unto you, The hour cometh, and now is, when the dead shall hear the voice of the Son of God; and they that hear shall live" Obviously, Jehoshua is positing the resurrection as the way for the dead to live again. John 5:28-29 28 Marvel not at this: for the hour cometh, in which all that are in the tombs shall hear his voice, 29 and shall come forth; they that have done good, unto the resurrection of life; and they that have done evil, unto the resurrection of judgment. How is that those that are in the graves will hear the voice of the Son of God if they are already in heaven as disembodied souls? Wouldn't they already be with Jehoshua when he comes back? The immortal soul teaching would lead us to a ridiculous conclusion that the saints are split personalities in that they would hear Jehoshua's voice from their graves and yet be with him at the same time as disembodied souls. Also, notice the key words that Jehoshua uses about the resurrection of the damned: "they that done evil, unto the resurrection of judgement" This statement here blows the immortal soul doctrine out of the water because the book of Hebrews chapter 9 says: 27 And inasmuch as it is appointed unto men once to die, and after this [cometh] judgment; If the wicked were to die and still live in a spiritual underworld as disembodied souls suffering burning torment then that would mean they were already judged. Jehoshua says that the judgement doesn't take place until the last day and that it takes place after the resurrection. According to the author of Hebrews, the judgement comes after death. And according to Jehoshua, the judgement comes after the resurrection. If there is the tormenting of disembodied souls in between the death of the wicked and the resurrection then it makes both the author of Hebrews and Jehoshua's words of none effect. Again, this would mean that the wicked would have had to have been judged right after death and before the resurrection. This flat out contradicts the words of the Son of God. Here is the timeline: Death Resurrection Judgment Then after these three things comes the casting into the lake of fire: Revelation 20:11-15 11 And I saw a great white throne, and him that sat upon it, from whose face the earth and the heaven fled away; and there was found no place for them. 12 And I saw the dead, the great and the small, standing before the throne; and books were opened: and another book was opened, which is the book of life: and the dead were judged out of the things which were written in the books, according to their works. 13 And the sea gave up the dead that were in it; and death and Hades gave up the dead that were in them: and they were judged every man according to their works. 14 And death and Hades were cast into the lake of fire. This is the second death, [even] the lake of fire. 15 And if any was not found written in the book of life, he was cast into the lake of fire. This passage lays out perfectly what Jehoshua stated in John chapter 5 and the author of Hebrews stated in chapter 9 of that book. Verse 11 details Jehoshua sititng on his great White throne i.e the throne of David. Verse 12 says the dead are standing before him to be judged according to what was written in the books. This obviously denotes the resurrection of the dead hence the dead are able to stand before the great white throne. Verse 13 also shows that the dead have been resurrected as death and hell (the grave not a spiritual underworld) gave up the dead that were in them. The dead were then judged according to their works. Then death and hell were cast into the lake of fire (verse 14). Guess what the book of Revelation calls the lake of fire? The second death. Even the lake of fire is not eternal torment. It is fire unto destruction and death not an eternal burning torment. In John chapter 6 Jehoshua reiterates the resurrection at the last day: John 6:38-40 38 For I am come down from heaven, not to do mine own will, but the will of him that sent me. 39 And this is the will of him that sent me, that of all that which he hath given me I should lose nothing, but should raise it up at the last day. 40 For this is the will of my Father, that every one that beholdeth the Son, and believeth on him, should have eternal life; and I will raise him up at the last day. The will of the Father is that the sheep of Jehoshua His Son will be raised up at the last day. In verse 40, Jehoshua makes it clear that eternal life will be given to those who believe on him (Jehoshua) at the last day when they are raised up. Obviously, Jehoshua is connecting the giving of eternal life with the resurrection at the last day. John 6:44 "No man can come to me, except the Father that sent me draw him: and I will raise him up in the last day" Again, Jehoshua emphasizes the resurrection at the last day as the hope of those who have been given him by the Father. The doctrine of the immortal soul makes these texts of none effect. Why isn't Jehoshua emphasizing that those who the Father has given him die and go to heaven? Because it is a concept foreign to scriptue. There would no point in constantly referring to the resurrection as the hope of the believers if they go to heaven when they die. John 6:54 "He that eateth my flesh and drinketh my blood hath eternal life: and I will raise him up at the last day" Jehoshua preached the gospel of the Kingdom and the blessed hope of eternal life in the Kingdom is yhe resurrection at the last day not dying and going to heaven as a disembodied soul. If all these statements of Jehoshua are not enough to prove that the resurrection is the hope of the saints and not dying and going to heaven let's look at John chapter 11: 21 Martha therefore said unto Jehoshua, Lord, if thou hadst been here, my brother had not died. 22 And even now I know that, whatsoever thou shalt ask of God, God will give thee. 23 Jehoshua saith unto her, Thy brother shall rise again. 24 Martha saith unto him, I know that he shall rise again in the resurrection at the last day. 25 Jehoshua said unto her, I am the resurrection, and the life: he that believeth on me, though he die, yet shall he live; Lazarus had died and his sister Martha, saddened, was asking Jehoshua to intervene. Notice that Martha doesn't comfort herself with the idea that Lazarus is in heaven as a disembodied soul but rather with the fact that he will rise at the last day. This is because the Israelites knew that the resurrection at the last day was the only way to gain immortality (Daniel 12:1-2). Jehoshua also comfored Martha with the fact that her brother will be resurrected. Why didn't the Son of God comfort her with the dying and going to heaven doctrine? Again, because it is a pagan unbiblical doctrine. Of course, Jehoshua was gonna do one better than the resurrection at the last day and resurrect Lazarus right then and there. In verse 25, when Jehoshua says that he that believeth on him, though he die, shall yet live obviously has the resurrection in mind as the mechanism in which those who believe live. Connect this with Paul comforting the Thessalonians that their dead loved ones will be resurrected. These is no comfort given by anyone in the bible that the dead saints are up in heaven as disembodied souls. Let's now go to the next subject concerning the gospel of the Kingdom and that is the law. Much of modern Churchianty teaches that the law is done away with. Either that or that the law is simply the two commandments Jehoshua mentioned in Mark 12:28-34. Or some teach that Jehoshua brought a new law and that the 10 commandments are done away with. The overall view of the law in modern Christianity is a lawless one. In fact, if you try and keep the law you are deemed unsaved. All the different scenarios regarding the law propagated by Christendom are rooted in one thing and that is their hatred of the seventh day Sabbath. That is what is really at the heart of the issue. Hebrews 8:10 "For this is the covenant that I will make with the house of Israel After those days, saith the Lord; I will put my laws into their mind, And on their heart also will I write them: And I will be to them a God, And they shall be to me a people" The idea of a lawless new covenant is unbiblical and contradicst the actual language of the new covenant. Part and parcel of the new covenant is that the law will be written on our hearts and put in our mind. We have to ask ourselves, what was the reason Jehovah divorced the house of Israel in the first place? It was because of the constant breaking of his law. When Jehovah was to renew his martial covenant with Israel He would write His law in their minds and hearts. If the divorce was because of the breaking of the law of Jehovah and the renewal of vows is a restoration of the law in the hearts of the previously divorced, then how in the world can we say the law is done away with? This would be equivalent to divorcing your spouse because of unfaithfulness and the renewing your vows with them with the idea that they don't have to be faithful to you and that the law of marriage fidelity doesn't apply to them. Modern Christianity uses Paul as the fall guy to promote their lawless doctrine yet the apostle constantly upholds the law and uses it as a standard of behavior for the churches he writes to. 2nd Corinthians 3:3 "being made manifest that ye are an epistle of Messiah, ministered by us, written not with ink, but with the Spirit of the living God; not in tables of stone, but in tables that are hearts of flesh" Paul echoes Hebrews 8:10, that now in the new covenant the law is to be written on the tables of our hearts of flesh. Somehow modern Christianity takes this to mean that the law is done away with. Yet this cannot be, as Paul's reference to tables of the heart is an obvious reference to the 10 commandments as they were written on tables of stone. Paul even contrasts the tables of stone in which the 10 commandments were written on in the old covenant with the new covenant concept of the law being written on our hearts. The book of Ezekiel confirms that when we are given a heart of flesh it allows the holy Spirit to write the law on it. Ezekiel 36:26-27 26 A new heart also will I give you, and a new spirit will I put within you; and I will take away the stony heart out of your flesh, and I will give you a heart of flesh. 27 And I will put my Spirit within you, and cause you to walk in my statutes, and ye shall keep mine ordinances, and do them. This is exactly where Paul is pulling from in 2nd Corinthians 3. Again, we see the comparison between the heart of stone & the heart of flesh. The heart of flesh is able to have the law written on it as the heart of stone cannot. For the heart of stone, the law is burdensome. For the heart of flesh, the law is just, holy and good. Having the heart of stone removed & given a heart a flesh causes one to be given the Spirit and walk in the statutes, commandments and ordinances of Jehovah God. These is so much more that can be said but we will conclude the subject of the law with Jehoshua's words in His Kingdom gospel preaching on the sermon on the mount: Matthew 5:17-19 17 Think not that I came to destroy the law or the prophets: I came not to destroy, but to fulfil. 18 For verily I say unto you, Till heaven and earth pass away, one jot or one tittle shall in no wise pass away from the law, till all things be accomplished. 19 Whosoever therefore shall break one of these least commandments, and shall teach men so, shall be called least in the kingdom of heaven: but whosoever shall do and teach them, he shall be called great in the kingdom of heaven Most Christians have out right contradicted the words of Jehoshua stated above as they boldly proclaim that the law is done away with. There may be questions as to what exactly Jehoshua means when he says he came to fulfil the law but there can be no question as to what he means in verse 19 about those who break the least of the commandments and teach others to do the same. Today's churches boldly teach that believers are free to break God's commandments namely the fourth commandment of the seventh day Sabbath. What does Jehoshua say about this at the end of the sermon? Matthew 7:22-23 22 Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, did we not prophesy by thy name, and by thy name cast out demons, and by thy name do many mighty works? 23 And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity. Iniquity means lawlessness which John the apostle defines as sin (1 John 3:4). Sticking with John the apostle he says this: 1 John 5:2-3 2 Hereby we know that we love the children of God, when we love God and do his commandments. 3 For this is the love of God, that we keep his commandments: and his commandments are not grievous. Just as breaking the law defines sin, keeping the commandments defines love. Because of the modern Church's doctrine that does away with the law they cannot preach the love of Jehovah. Jehovah God's love is defined by His commandments & nothing else. This is seen all throughout scripture. Christendom teaches a false version of love that is more akin to emotionalism than God's principles. American churchianty teaches a greek philosophical version of love and not the biblical version, which again is defined by the commandments of Jehovah. In Exodus 20, the 10 commandments are laid out and each one of them promotes either loving God or loving our neighbor. James 2:8-12 8 Howbeit if ye fulfil the royal law, according to the scripture, Thou shalt love thy neighbor as thyself, ye do well: 9 but if ye have respect of persons, ye commit sin, being convicted by the law as transgressors. 10 For whosoever shall keep the whole law, and yet stumble in one [point], he is become guilty of all. 11 For he that said, Do not commit adultery, said also, Do not kill. Now if thou dost not commit adultery, but killest, thou art become a transgressor of the law. 12 So speak ye, and so do, as men that are to be judged by a law of liberty. Just as in chapter 1 James, the brother of Jehoshua, equates the 10 commandments to being a law of liberty. He refers it to the royal law (verse 8). Royal law refers to the law of the King. Jehovah God is the ultimate King and His Son Jehoshua is the Davidic King of bible prophecy. Isaiah 42:4 "He will not fail nor be discouraged, till he have set justice in the earth; and the isles shall wait for his law" This is a prophecy about the coming Messianic King. Notice that it says the islands will wait for his law. This means that the Messiah has a law yet Churchianty teaches that he abolished the law. Basically, Christendom teaches an antichrist version of the Son of God as it is the antichrist who attempts to change times and the law (Daniel 7:25). Paul says that it will be the son of perdition (antichrist) who comes to bring lawlessness (2nd Thessalonians 2). Inadvertently, the churches are teaching that Jesus is the son of perdition rather than the Son of God. The son of perdition teaches lawlessness whereas the Son of God brings his law to the islands. Now we arrive at the question of whether the new covenant was made with a non Israelite gentile church or the nation of Israel. As always scripture gives us the truth: Hebrews 8:8-13 8 For finding fault with them, he saith, Behold, the days come, saith the Lord, That I will make a new covenant with the house of Israel and with the house of Judah; 9 Not according to the covenant that I made with their fathers In the day that I took them by the hand to lead them forth out of the land of Egypt; For they continued not in my covenant, And I regarded them not, saith the Lord. 10 For this is the covenant that I will make with the house of Israel After those days, saith the Lord; I will put my laws into their mind, And on their heart also will I write them: And I will be to them a God, And they shall be to me a people: 11 And they shall not teach every man his fellow-citizen, And every man his brother, saying, Know the Lord: For all shall know me, From the least to the greatest of them. 12 For I will be merciful to their iniquities, And their sins will I remember no more. 13 In that he saith, A new [covenant] he hath made the first old. But that which is becoming old and waxeth aged is nigh unto vanishing away. This is a pretty straight forward passage in regards to who the new covenant is made with. The author of Hebrews, quoting Jeremiah 31, says the new covenant is made with the house of Israel and the house of Judah. Today's churches teach that the 10 tribes of the Northern Kingdom of Israel are lost. How could that be if the author of Hebrews said that the new covenant is made with them? Just as a husband cannot make a marriage covenant with a woman who is nowhere to be found, Jehovah could not have possibly made the new covenant with the house of Israel if there were lost at the time that the new covenant was made. Some people in the Hebrew roots movement teach that the new covenant is future so that they can promote their lost tribes doctrine. The lost tribes doctrine is rooted in Zionism and the Satanic lie that today's Geo-political Israel is a fulfilment of bible prophecy and that the so called Jews are the legitimate children of Israel. These so called Jews claim that they constitute Israel for the time being and that the gathering of the so called lost tribes is future. Once it is shown that the gathering of the 10 tribes already took place then the modern state of Israel is exposed for the fraud that it is. The modern state of Israel is part of the package of futurist eschatology. This futurist eschatology promotes antichrist Jews as the children of God and denies the disciples of the Son of God as the true Israel of Jehovah God. The lost tribes doctrine is essential to Zionism because if we they were to admit that the tribes were found in the first century then most of the prophecies they hold as future would be shown to have already been fulfilled. And if they have already been fulfilled, then there would be no point for the church to look to the modern state of Israel as anything significant in terms of prophecy. It would also exposes the modern Jews as not being who they claim to be. They would be seen as the antichrist's that they truly are. It would prove that the church was/is the new covenant Israel that was united in the first century with Judah and Ephraim coming together through Jehoshua and the apostles preaching. The modern churches denial of being Israelites has had the side effect of teaching that the law is not for them. It has also fostered bizarre end times scenarios where the church is in heaven during the millennium and physical Jews are here on earth. The Rapture and the inability to detect who the antichrist is have been the unfortunate results of this denial of the new covenant being made with Israel. In Ephesians 2, Paul talks about those who were Gentiles being brought into the Commonwealth of Israel through the blood of the Messiah. He says that they are now partakers of the covenants of promise and fellow citizens with the saints and of the household of God. Obviously, Paul is stating that they are now part of Israel through faith in the Messiah. This should be good news to all believers yet the churches go out of their way to twist this passage and outright deny what Paul is clearly stating. Actually, these Ephesians are part of the Northern Kingdom of Israel. Ephesians 1 proves this as well as Peter's epistle as he writes to the sorjourners of the dispersion (scattered Israelites) in Asia. Ephesus is in Asia. In the book of Revelation, we see that it is written to the 12 tribes of Israel. Seven churches in Asia are addressed and these churches in Asia were the very ones Peter wrote to in his epistle that he called sojourners and strangers of the dispersion. The word "dispersion" is rendered from the Greek word "diaspora" (strongs 1290) and means "Israelite resident scattered in Gentile countries:- (which) are scattered abroad." 1 Peter 1:1 "Peter, an apostle of Jesus Christ, to the elect who are sojourners of the Dispersion in Pontus, Galatia, Cappadocia, Asia, and Bithynia" Asia includes most of the congregations Paul wrote to. Peter is addressing Israelites who are dwelling in these countries (including Asia) not non Israelites. These are the same Israelites that are being addressed in Revelation as the churches in Asia. 1 Peter 2:9-10 9 But ye are a elect race, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, a people for [God`s] own possession, that ye may show forth the excellencies of him who called you out of darkness into his marvellous light: 10 who in time past were no people, but now are the people of God: who had not obtained mercy, but now have obtained mercy. Many churches try to teach that this is about a non Israelite church ir try to apply solely to what is falsely called Modern Jews. However, scripture is clear that only Israel was elected by Jehovah God as a special race. Psalm 147:19-20 19 He showeth his word unto Jacob, His statutes and his ordinances unto Israel. 20 He hath not dealt so with any nation; And as for his ordinances, they have not known them. Praise ye Jehovah. Jehovah gave his law only to the nation of Israel. This is because Israel only was Jehovah's son: Exodus 4:22 "And thou shalt say unto Pharaoh, Thus saith Jehovah, Israel is my son, my first-born" Jehovah God elected the nation of Israel to be His first begotten Son. Paul confirms that the election is Israel's: Romans 11 "As touching the gospel, they are enemies for your sake: but as touching the election, they are beloved for the fathers` sake" Paul is specifically referencing the unconverted Israelites & says that nonetheless they are loved by the Father Jehovah as they are of the election. Romans 9:3-4 3 For I could wish that I myself were anathema from Messiah for my brethren`s sake, my kinsmen according to the flesh: 4 who are Israelites; whose is the adoption, and the glory, and the covenants, and the giving of the law, and the service [of God], and the promises Paul says the sonship (adoption) is Israel's. Sonship is the more accurate word as adoption would indicate not a real son by genealogy but someone taken outside the seed and brought into the family. Jehovah God doesn't have seed but the holy seed of Israel is His first born son & that seed is genetic and literal. To Israel is the Sonship of Jehovah. Isaiah 43:1-7 1 But now thus saith Jehovah that created thee, O Jacob, and he that formed thee, O Israel: Fear not, for I have redeemed thee; I have called thee by thy name, thou art mine. 2 When thou passest through the waters, I will be with thee; and through the rivers, they shall not overflow thee: when thou walkest through the fire, thou shalt not be burned, neither shall the flame kindle upon thee. 3 For I am Jehovah thy God, the Holy One of Israel, thy Saviour; I have given Egypt as thy ransom, Ethiopia and Seba in thy stead. 4 Since thou hast been precious in my sight, [and] honorable, and I have loved thee; therefore will I give men in thy stead, and peoples instead of thy life. 5 Fear not; for I am with thee: I will bring thy seed from the east, and gather thee from the west; 6 I will say to the north, Give up; and to the south, Keep not back; bring my sons from far, and my daughters from the end of the earth; 7 every one that is called by my name, and whom I have created for my glory, whom I have formed, yea, whom I have made. Jehovah God formed Israel as His first born son. One chapter later, Isaiah says Jehovah formed Israel from the womb. Isaiah 44:1-2 1 Yet now hear, O Jacob my servant, and Israel, who I have chosen:.2 Thus saith Jehovah that made thee, and formed thee from the womb, who will help thee: Fear not, O Jacob my servant; and thou, Jeshurun, whom I have chosen. Israel is the chosen of Jehovah & this election of Israel is from the womb according to the prophet Isaiah. This fits perfectly with Ephesians 1. Let's now go back to 1 Peter 2:9-10. When Peter refers to the believers as a chosen race & a royal priesthood he is referring to Exodus 19:5-6 which is about the nation of Israel. In the Exodus quotation it says that Israel was Jehovah's own possession from among all peoples. This shows the exclusivity of the statement made by Peter. Verse 1-2 of Peter's epistle proves that he is addressing Israelites therefore verses 9-10 about these sojourners being a chosen race is regarding the same people the original quote was about i.e. Israelites. Peter refers to these Israelites as a chosen race as they are the recipient of the new covenant. ReplyForward |
